TL owners can dream right? What do we all want in the forthcoming 2017 TLX?

It doesn't matter. Acura won't listen to anything we ask for anyways, and as a slap to the face, they'll end up doing the exact opposite, just to spite us.

How about one of these attached to the steering wheel

OK, you want a serious response. Considering that there could be self driving cars on the road in 10 years there has to be a progressive move towards that. so how about this:
1. Faster processor to improve the ACC so that it can handle just about every situation.
2. Increase LKAS control from 15 seconds to at least 30 seconds .
3. Faster Navi processor to reduce startup time and calculation of route guidance.
4. Improved backup camera to satisfy the complainers.
5. Footwell lights

2 screens is not enough. We need more.
Rockyboy said the more screens you have, the more women you can get.
Also spray some of the RDX Pimp juice in the TLX

Knowing Acura we would be lucky to see CarPlay and Android Auto next year, otherwise they are usually pretty predictable with waiting for MMC. The 16 Accord they modified the dual screen interaction, love the new navi maps. What I do not like in the 16 Accord is with the new screens the maps are on,y on the bottom and there are no knows, there is a slider to adjust volume and such.

Wow!! This post is about 12 hours old and no one has mentioned the "must have" exposed exhaust tips yet!
It is a little premature since the 16's just rolled out, but I'm sure the list of things members wish were on the current models would be a pretty good starting point.
Oh yeah, I forgot 1 thing. Maybe a different transmission offering that is a little more "consistent" for everyone.

I'm most interested in a coupe/convertible, but I recognize that is a pipe dream. Beyond that, I would like a trickle down of more premium features (e.g. heated steering wheel, heads up display, 360 camera). I also hate the 4-cyl wheels. I think I would like that powertrain better, but those wheels are strange.

I wish they'd bring the CL back.

I'd like to see DVD-As supported again in the ELS sound system. I've acquired over 100 of them, and getting a 3G TL was the reason why! And since they are keeping a disc player...
Or maybe go modern and add support for 5.1 FLAC file playback or Blu-Ray (DTS-HD) audio-only discs. They do exist - recent re-releases of Yes, Jethro Tull, Tears For Fears, Simple Minds, XTC and others.

I would like a sportier version with a bodykit from the factory OR a full bumper replacement "a la 2009 TSX"

my dream list of 2017 changes
I read somewhere that a redesign exhaust tip may come for the 2017. Almost like an air vent type where the exhaust will still be hidden but one can see the vents where the exhaust is located. The other thing I read is that the fog lights will be redesigned as well where instead of having round fog lights they will be more of a line almost like an eyelid in LED. May all be rumors but hey, we can all dream, right?

They need to make that Prototype as a Type-S with 305 HP, make it in black.white and that red and only in AWD Tech and Advance to limit the production choices and I bet the sell enough. Even without the exhaust tips it looks hot. Do that at MMC with Carplay Android Auto maybe a HUD and all around camera and price it at $50K.

It needs to be way above 305hp IMO, the 2G/3G's had way bigger hp differences between base and S models. And with the Q50 getting the TT V6 soon and the 340i/440i/C350/C400/B9 S4 all pushing ~350hp, Acura can't afford to release something in 2018 with power levels they had back in 2014 on a non-S model.
I realize numbers aren't everything, but with performance models people do care about stats. Let's hope they also go with a detuned version of the NSX's TT V6, and not the heavier sport hybrid setup

Summer is Coming
Pretty short list for me...
- New transmission for the V6
- Carplay (and Android Auto)
- Head up display
- Advanced trim with the 4-cyl drivetrain (probably never happen)
- Get some decent wheels.. why is this the hard part? Just ask your customers, it is not like you need engineering to design 'good looking.'
The TLX is a pretty good all around package. A few tweaks at the MMC will make it ever better.

I would not expect much until MMC in 18:
Would love Google online search
New navi maps like the 16 Accord
Type-S that looks exactly like the prototype that includes:
310HP
Brembo brake firmer sport suspension
Deep side bolsters like the old 4G AWD
Thigh extender in seat bottom
Krell
HUD
All around view cameras

1. 6sp MT
2. A true S or A-Spec option with performance, not cosmetic, upgrades (product manager of the TSX SE, I am talking to you!)
3. More interesting colorways.
4. Foglights and donut spare as standard equipment. Or at least as lower cost accessories ($1100 for foglights with installation. Really?)
5. An option in the MID for digital speed display. Especially if I am on cruise control, or driving through a speed trap, I want to see the exact MPH.
6. More than 16 measly GB for the HDD. And a higher download bit rate; at least 256k. The current 128k produces crap sound and doesn't do the rest of the sound system justice.
7. A console rocker switch to directly control the climate control fan speed. I don't want to go into the ODMD to make a simple change. What took one button press (mostly by feel with eyes on the road) on my TSX, now takes at least 3 screen button pushes (with constant glancing at the touch screen because the button is so damn small). And automotive experts agree with me:
Not a Fan of Screen Washout - 2015 Acura TLX SH-AWD Long-Term Road Test
8. As an add-on to #7, more direct buttons in a cockpit design (like the 2G TSX and 4G TL). I want to control an automotive machine, not press a lot of touch screen buttons like on an iPad. Respect the driver. Honor Honda's legendary grammar of design.
9. Don't let the Accord introduce new features in the USDM that Acura, your PREMIUM brand, does not have, e.g., rear heated seats. I know you sell 10x the number of Accords than TLXs, thus spread development, sourcing, and production costs over more vehicles. Blah, blah. See #10.
10. Introduce the TLX into more international markets. So we get the Scooby snacks spread out over a larger vehicle production run. And it will provide jobs to U.S. workers, helps our lower export trade deficit, and will enable you to provide an MT at lower development cost.

I want everything that every luxury brand has that Acura doesn't, and keep the stuff they have that others don't, all for the same cheaper price……OK, seriously…my Top Ten list of things that I would like, that I also believe are realistic, is as follows:
1. Heated steering wheel, heated back seats, 4 door lock/unlock…..oh..wait, I have those now…sorry…couldn't resist one more time.
2. Tweak the 9 speed more, if the 2016 doesn't satisfy most.
3. Heads up display
4. Full Acura Watch on Tech trim, if not all trims, including ACC, and Cooled Seats.
5. Make every major systems optional, to please all of the people all of the time - so include VCM with a shut on/off option, as with Idle Stop and Brake Hold.
6. Adjust VCM to eliminate most of the vibration at lower cruising speeds - perhaps only shutting down 2 vs 3 cylinders which increases the issues for the 30-40 mph cruising. This might eliminate the desire for an on/off button.
7. As mentioned elsewhere, have a 4 cylinder Advance/Elite model.
8. Don't get caught up in the "More horsepower is always better". Seriously, how fast are we going to drive and do we really need more AHs on the road with too much acceleration. Perhaps if we use new engine technology to actually improve fuel economy without a lot of features like VCM or BH, there would be happier owners. If they must, up the power for a Type S model and leave most of us with the balance of power and fuel economy that Acura/Honda is know for.
9. Up the sound system, not that it needs a lot of tweaking. Perhaps 2 more speakers and an upgraded SW. Car Play and Android Auto should be added, if only to keep up with Honda.
10. HUD would be cool, although to be honest, I have all that info and more in the current dash "Heads Up display, and IMHO, it's less distracting.

The Infotainment system MUST have a faster processor. The secondary screen with heated/cooled seats, audio control changes, etc. is too laggy while im driving. I find myself needing to double check the screen to make sure the correct virtual button was pushed and executed.
I do miss the footwell lights of my 3G TL and I find the backup camera to be darker at night than the camera on my 3G.
The sound system needs more low end bass! I find it crisp and clear but my 3G TL had more bump in the bass department.
In terms of performance. Lincoln just announced the 2017 MKZ will have a 350HP FWD and 400+HP AWD variants.
Acura needs to stop messing around and use their Honda performance chops to cook together some more aggressive styles and performance.
We need a performance(Type S?) variant with brembo brakes, 350-400HP, retuned suspension, wider/bigger tires, and a more aggressive front fascia. The stick on bump "Aero" packages dont work and look cheap.
They need to create a sport bumper like the M/Sport line packages for BMW 3/5 series.
Perhaps they can use that 270+HP 2.0L Turbo thats supposedly coming for the Civic Type R. Retune it with more power using premium fuel, throw in the 8DCT from base TLX, and have that as the base AWD engine. This should also be more fuel efficient. Still keep the 2.4L as the base FWD engine.
Turbo V6 is now required for the performance variant to push some serious hp/trq numbers. 0-60 times in mid to upper 5 secs doesnt cut it anymore. When V6 accord and camry's easily hit these numbers.
Just my after owning the SH-AWD TLX now for a month.

i'm not sure on this. i mean TLX can definitely use a real A-Spec package like the one on ILX, not the Canadian version (which is just wheels, rear spoiler and bodykit), i want alcantara seats, red instrumentation guage, black headliner along with wheels and body kit. but, with the price as is, i can't justify spending $2k more on a TLX across the trim, i would just get an Lexus IS with that price
