Problem is ggesq can't help it, if he reads anything not positive about the TLX he sees red....

No, I congratulated the OP then I replied to our friend implying that you did need to spend more to get certain level of performance which is not exactly true....you do not need to spend that much to "blow a TLX" (and not only in straight line performance) and, by the way, that is not my car.

LOL...
ggesq MAY not love the 4G, I must acquiesce.
I have a hard time loving on it...but I'm just stuck on an old model.
Justin is right though, this probably isn't the platform for the discussion.
OP, set it straight with some videos of you breaking those tires in in an empty parking lot!

Back on the OP's car topic....the new 440i announced
BMW 440i launching in Spring 2016, new engines announced
The Gran Coupe is very nice, I would get that over a 3 Series if I did need 4 doors.

Good luck with the Bimmer...
The TLX is pretty much entirely a lemon...
It's the worst thing Honda has put out in nearly 15 years despite its looks and tech...
It's the 2nd gen TLs little brother, the new car Acura techs will look at a warranty work...
That's the third TLX tranny related thread I've seen since Saturday...

The 8 speed DCT is an excellent transmission and is very well mated to the 2.4. I KNOW because I now lease a 2016 2.4 tech and have extensively test driven 15's and 16s as well as ILXs with the same transmission. For my driving style and needs, this is the better choice for me, with the same great features I enjoyed on my 3.5.
Based on all the information I have reviewed and my own extensive experience with the car, I would certainly not characterize the TLX "pretty much entirely a lemon" as you stated. Your assertion is based on what exactly - a few posters here or a few cases documented elsewhere? You will find such cases about EVERY vehicle. The car for the most part has been well received by reviewers - I KNOW because I have read dozens of reviews. Is it a perfect car….no…but it is a very good car and an excellent value proposition.
I have a hard time understanding folks like you who feel the need to make these types of declarations based on little or no actual experience, or reading about the misfortunes of a few. The world is not black and white, nor are cars either great or crap….but this type of thinking does seem to work well for those with pre-conceived notions.
I also have a hard time understanding why people who dislike but don't own a product feel the need to express these views, usually on multiple occasions. If I purchase a vacuum that does not work well I might well post something about that vacuum, making sure my comments are accurate. However, I would NEVER read a few negative posts about a vacuum I don't own and then post my own opinions. It would seem to lack any sort of authenticity or intellectual validity. Perhaps that's just me. Surely, you must have better ways to spend your time?

Congrats on your new 435. Just a nice thought. My 2014 435 is due to go in for my second visit to the dealer since I got the car.
Cars computer ratted me out & the second annual free maintenance is now due.
Glad I have the dealers location in the nav system so I remember how to get there.

Well, if you do not like the car styling or is too big for you you will shop somewhere else.
Yes, he finally gets it! There are other reasons why people choose to spend more to get less.
Well, for making that kind of comment yes I did assume...the new Charger is anything but unrefined....
It was your comment that I responded to, remember?
I'm not relying on what magazines say....just saying simply that some of them put the TL SH-AWD in comparo tests with the 335i and S4, something they would not even attempt to do it for the TLX....
Oh, I get it. So you move the goal posts when it suits you.
Let's put that stupid notion to rest once and for all...point where I ever said that the 4G TL was on par or better than the Panamera?? I'm all ears and eyes....I only mentioned some pure performance data.....and yes if you actually go and look at performance numbers on C&D tests the 4G TL SH-AWD 6MT was in the same ballpark of a Panamera 3.6 (acceleration, braking, lateral grip) and an Audi A7 3.0T, a feat the TLX is not even remotely capable of doing at the moment....surprised?? Check it up
Sounds like you are the one that needs to put it to rest Everyone reading this thread can go read that thread and draw their own conclusions. Surely you agree that the choice on tires by Acura to put on the TLX play a factor in handling, don't you?
I believe you are acting as a "reverse fanboy", your dislike for the 4G prevent you from admitting that it was actually a better car than a TLX....deal with it, it was form a sport sedan perspective,
Now, that is a new one! A reverse fanboy? Look, I don't own a 4G or a TLX and I could care less about Acura/Honda as I have no allegiance to the brand. If Acura does something substantial with the MMC, I might consider the TLX because I like the way it looks. I've said many times over that the 4G is a solid, respectable sporty family sedan that but for, it's looks, I would have scooped one up in 6MT form. The 4G is better in some ways but the TLX is better in others. I post regularly in 3G, 4G and the TLX subforums because at the core, I think they are solid vehicles for what they are- VALUE ORIENTED ENTRY LEVEL SPORTY FAMILY SEDANS. Unlike you here in 5G, I don't troll the 4G forums putting down the car for its shortcomings.
Yes, a SRT 392 is a strong contender among other choices.
looking forward to see your next acquisition

Typing in red, because I am seeing red right now Where in this thread or any other thread have I ever avidly defended the TLX? You won't find it because again, I have no brand loyalty. Acura has made a step in the right direction with the TLX, but they are not there yet. That is my opinion on the TLX and you will see my previous posts alluding to the same conclusion. But, yes, keep assuming and stating your opinions as fact.

Unfortunately there is always going to be the odd lemon when any manufacturer introduces an entirely new model. The most common issue, and still a relatively small minority of the thousands purchased, was the GERMAN ZF transmission in the 3.5. There have been many expert articles written about the plusses and minuses of this transmission, particularly, the concerns that other model users of the same tranny have had adapting to the 9 speeds. Personally, I enjoyed many things about my 3.5 SH_AWD but never liked the inconsistency of the first two shifts. I have no doubt that I became hyper sensitive to it, judging by how many others have had 0 issues, including enthusiasts that drove my vehicle. After driving several 2016 versions, I would say they have nicely re-programmed the shift logic, as a number of owners here have posted.
The 8 speed DCT is an excellent transmission and is very well mated to the 2.4. I KNOW because I now lease a 2016 2.4 tech and have extensively test driven 15's and 16s as well as ILXs with the same transmission. Many simple misses on the 2016 that are hard to ignore. I expect that if they sell the option it works well. I am not a beta tester. I expect a ground up redesign to not have the pain points from the TL and TSX still evident.
I am not saying I hate the 2016, but I am not exactly happy either.

Congrats on your new car. The blue is fantastic. I think BMW has some of the best Blue's out there. Reminds me of my E46 Topaz Blue Coupe. Like you said the car handles like no other. The in-line six in the E46 was smooth as silk and really pulled (for a 200hp engine). I really enjoyed that car, but it did spend a lot of time in the service department for various minor things. I think BMW reliability has improved since then. I hated to get rid of mine after only 4 years but I was afraid to own it without a warranty. Hope you have years of enjoyment.

After 2 Bimmers I bought a TLX. I wouldn't have bought the previous TL. Much less a G37 (maybe a Q50). And no way your so-loved Homer-mobile Charger that looks so like a caricature and kitsch.
The TLX is not perfect, but it is way better than other recent Acuras, enough to deter me from that a brand that I used to love.

Finally coming to your senses, that your psyche knows but you denies. No other reason why you are still the resident troll here. Now go back to your 10mpg chrysler and nissan. Good for you if like them (I don't).
The TLX is nicely balanced for what it is. Too bad the OP had those issues.

....nicely balanced towards mediocrity...if that strikes your fancy, enjoy...
Now go back to your 10mpg chrysler and nissan.
...the FWD Acura RLX (still a bit smaller than a Charger) had an observed fuel economy of 20 mpg vs 18 mpg for the Charger R/T, which is significantly faster (both tested by C&D)...you gotta pay to play.....or enjoy the fuel economy of wannabe sport sedans... .
The new LX based FCA cars are actually quite frugal considering their size and performance...

BMWs just have a feel to them that other cars don't. Even older used ones still have that 'BMW' feel- the E39 5 series (1997 - 2003) is the epitome of what I'm talking about.
Congrats on the car. Enjoy it!
As for the comments about Mercedes-Benz, I couldn't agree more. I'm yet to drive one, but friends and family friends have had them over the years, and you certainly get what you pay for when buy a Mercedes-Benz.
You pay a high dollar but what you get is so impeccably crafted and well screwed together that everything else feels... cheap, to be honest.
I'm pretty disappointed to hear the terrible things I'm hearing about the TLX. I'm sure if I drove one I'd love it, but for people to compare it to the 2G TL... that blows my mind- considering the 2G TL is arguably the worst car Honda built, ever.

Also, the BMW X1 would beg to differ on good driving feel. It's basically a BMW Rav4, with a higher price tag than the real one. BMW make a lot of good cars, but they make a few duds. Also good luck finding a non-AWD BMW on any Canadian BMW lot. The RWD ones simply are rarely sold up here unless it's an M.
Same with Mercedes-Benz. They make some great cars. Others, not so much. I don't think anyone can argue that a CLA feels anything but cheap inside. Or a B-class for that matter (sold all the time in Canada).

[QUOTE=youngTL;15753618]The 2015 TLX had a lot of issues and is deserving of the criticism it received. The 2016 is a lot better.

I agree with you completely. Saying all BMWs are great drivers and ALL mercedes are impeccably crafted is a joke. Even the C Class from 2 generations ago was TERRIBLE quality inside and out, wheels would lose their coating the dash plastics were cheap and ill fitting. and BMWs inherent driving feel has been watered down as of late, still is superior to most other manufacturers for their rear wheel drive platforms.

The 2015 TLX had a lot of issues and is deserving of the criticism it received. The 2016 is a lot better.
