Loaner Car Observations

Was given a tlx advanced v6 to drive for a few days while my 14TL was in for routine service. Here's a list of my rants/raves...

Rants
Standing outside while car is idling... Engine runs very loudly- tick, tick, tick...
Can't get used to not having a center shifter
Noticeable/annoying delay in transmission going from reverse-drive
Touch pad screen- visible smudges
Too many layers to make changes on touch screen. ie, heated seats, fan adjust.
Can no longer enter addresses on navi while driving
Seems like the steering wheel is thinner than my tl
Leather seats feel cheaper
Exposed cup holders
No visible exhaust outlets

Raves
Quiet ride
Adjustable suspension
All new safety features... Lane departure, back up warnings...etc
Sound system
Exterior design
Improved mpgs

Just my two cents worth.

The tick noise is from direct injection. Can the shifting delay be noticed more since push button is direct gear access while a gear shift lever is moved from one gear to another takes up that time delay? I use voice commands for climate, audio and navigation so I haven't noticed those same things coming from my TSX Tech. Btw, you can input addresses direct by voice versus step by step in the old system. Did you pair up your phone? Was it an iPhone? And if so, did you get a chance to use SiriEyes? I like that feature. I send and receive texts all the time. Siri reads them and sends them.

I like the Siri feature also. Since it was a loaner, I didn't pair the phone or dabble into the tech features too much.

Overall, it was a nice quiet riding car. I was just glad to get back into my '14.
