Key FOB Protector

Hi All - I have a TLX for about 4 weeks now and I added the remote start. The FOB is starting to show some fine scratches on the back side where it's shiny black with the Acura logo. Does anyone know of a protector/skin that can be used? Maybe like a phone screen protector in small form? The scratches are down the center where it's ridged.

I fear that after a year it will look like hell. :-)

I bought 2 from the jacket store. It's a rubber silicone cover that fits well and does the job. Only issue is it slightly covers the confirmation leds on my remote starter.

Driver #2 Keyfob (never use/keeps in jewelry box) I purchased this to go on it so it won't get scratched in my jewelry box.

That looks like a female gnome's wallet. It's pretty, though!

i -love- the jacket store. I've covered every remote I've ever had. when i got the TLX, they hadn't even put it up on the site yet, but i called, and had the cover in the mail in a couple days. they rock!

Maybe a few careful cuts with an eXacto knife will fix that

Does the material 'stick' to the cloth in your shirt pocket? Collect lint? etc?

Yes, it does collect lint. Develops it's own peach fuzz over time lol.

I bought the FOB covers from the Jacket Store as well, but that was more to differentiate the keys between my car, and the spare for my wife's MDX.

Prior to that, I just stuck a piece of clear bra I had laying around to the back, and trimmed it around the shiny section. No scrathces, and you can't tell its there.

No way I am getting a FOB purse. I will just keep my keys off the fob separately on their own chain and put them in a plastic baggy so it doesn't scratch the inside of the console.

OCD i know but i only need the keys to get in and out of the house and they are annoying in my pocket anyway. not a wallet or phone protector fan either

For anyone that doesn't want a cover for their key fob but wants to keep the back side looking new without scratches etc over the Acura logo.... if you just put a dab of headlight lens restoration solution and polish it out with a microfiber cloth, it will bring it back to looking brand new. Mine was looking scratched up and I did this and it looks great

I ordered a Zagg screen protector for some out of date Samsung tablet for $3.00 off of Amazon. I just cut it to size and carefully used an exacto knife to trim it once on. Looks great on my parent's MDX key fobs.

Yeah, even if you have your key in some sort of cover, lint/dirt/etc will get in between and grind into it while bouncing around in your pocket/purse.

Plastic restorer does the trick +95%.
