GPS Climate Control (It Works)
So I know they had this feature since the 05 RL, and I still think its a silly useless feature, but today I SAW IT IN ACTION
What it does: It uses your GPS to determine what side of the car the sun is on and makes the AC on that side work just that much stronger
So I have advance pkg with cooled seats and an automatic button. I had both sides of the climate control set to the same temp (70 degrees). So the automatic seat coolers chooses for me what stage to put the cooled seats on, 1, 2, or 3 depending on how ratio of current temp to desired temp.
So today I took my TLX to Mailbu today with my girl friend through the twisty roads. Sun was setting (west) and on the drivers side (most of the time heading north). Each time the road went north and the sun was on the drivers side, the DRIVERS cooled seats went from 1 to 2 while the passengers stayed at 1. The road would curve to the right (east) a few moments later the drivers seat went back to 1 (passenger is still 1 also) since the sun would be behind the car, road would curve again north and go up to 2 on drivers side only, and so on throughout a 20 minute drive.
VERY NEAT. I mean I still think its a bit silly of a feature but I would have never guess I could see it actually happen.

and?
You still think it's stupid?
It had superior vent placement?
It caused exhaust tips to appear?
What are your final thoughts on the feature? Personally, I've always loved the feature ever since my 3G.

I had no idea our climate control systems worked like that. That's pretty damn cool

My TL (4G) has the most comfortable and unobtrusive HVAC system of any car I've owned or ridden in. It always feels right and I only change the temp by one degree between summer/winter (70/71). I attribute a lot of that to the GPS input. In other cars the passenger on the sunny side is warm while the passenger on the shady side is cold. Have never experienced that in the TL.
