Good deal on 2016 V6 FWD (no tech/advance)
Looking for a commuter car for my wife (will be doing about 60 miles round trip 3 days a week). Originally I was thinking of a 4 cylinder TLX but with the edmunds $1750 discount am now considering a V6 FWD base (no tech or advance). I got a quote for $33k out-the-door on a silver one. Sounds like a great deal but after doing more research am concerned about transmission issues which seem to have been resolved with the 2016 model year. My wife has test driven the car and said she's ok with it (not really a car person so I'm not sure what that means). I'm going to be test driving it myself today/tomorrow and am curious if there's anything I should pay attention to while on the test drive (other then the transmission)? If I like it (again secondary since it'll be her commuter car) is 33k out-the-door a good price?

For brand new? MSRP is $36300 so yeah sounds good to be to get 3000 under OUT THE DOOR. I work at Acura in LA and sold one 2 days ago v6 base for 33,500 + tax title license. So good job.
And i have a 2015 tlx, no issues with tranny, awesome car I love it!

This car will be replacing a 2000 TL and the reason I was initially thinking a I4 is that I thought it got significantly better mileage. My wife test drove a base v6 and she doesn't care about leather (I think she'd prefer cloth if that were available).

Not bad price in that case (Wow that tax rate sucks, btw -- VA is 4.1% IIRC) that means that your purchase price is likely in the mid $29k range, which is a fair price IMO.

7k off MSRP is just fair?
I need to take you with me when I negotiate CTNYC.

There are no current Acura products with cloth seats.

Well, he is correct. Non tech models do not have the Milano leather, they have leatherette or vinyl or whatever Acura is calling it.
edit- it is called leatherette.

My S60 lease's net cap (before TTL) was ~$14k off MSRP (plus a ~0.02% interest rate) -- My acura dealership wasn't willing to play ball with me in July :/ Can't say I'm too dissappointed, the S60 is actually a very comfortable ride.
