Those are some nice numbers there. My 2.4 has hit its 600 mile mark today and I am averaging only 28 mpg mix driving... then again I live around a lot of hills.
I believe this is the best mpg I've seen so far on a TLX

Most people overall agree they get at or above the stated numbers which is great because most cars usually give you lower real world numbers than what is posted.
I get 32-33 mpg highway on my v6 sh-awd (rated at 31mpg) so slightly better but hey its better than what is advertised

An important measurement for the highway is the average speed & what speeds you actually drove to maintain it.
35MPG at a steady 60mph for a long stretch is different than 35MPG at 60mph but with a lot of runs into the 70/80MPH range to maintain the average.
The MPG number is the same but its interesting to see what actually makes it up.
Example I had a average of 31MPG around 71mph or so but spent quite a bit of time at 90MPH to maintain that average over a 200 odd mile run.

The 46 mpg number was hit cruising steady at 55, windows up, AC off, not many speed changes. It is probably a few mpg less than that, but still it is at least 40+ which is impressive for a car of this size and weight, borderline hybrid territory. I find the AC and idling really reduce the mpg in this car but this is great overrall gas mileage.

I got 33.8 with my SH-AWD 6 cyl.on a recent 2400 mile round trip cruising at 75-80mph most of the trip in Sport mode full time.
Question: once the VCM kicks in, does it make a difference which mode the car is in?
Thanks

I did a long highway trip recently and got 6.3 L/100km (37.3 MPG). I also have an SH-AWD V6. I was going a little slower than you (115 km/h, about 72 mph).

What does you trip computer say is your average speed?

holy crap... I haven't driven steady 55 mph on a highway since the 1980's. Where do you live? China?
On my first drive home with my car, I hit 40 mpg with my V6. It was only about a 50 mile drive, I think.
One thing about this car whether you drive a V6 or 4-cyl, you do get great mileage on the highway. It's one of the things I do appreciate about the car.

I have fooled around trying to hypermile my 3.5 paws.Best so far was 44.7mpg on a 15 mile trip...65mph max.Based on what I have seen so far I expect 38+ on long level trips below 75mph.Saturday I will drive 85 miles then back home.I am interested in how I will do.Last weekend I did a 58 mile trip.39.7 down the mountains...33.7 back up the mountains...but I used WOT 4 times...and otherwise was pretty aggressive.Actually being conservative would have helped but I was in a hurry.I have never had a Honda I could not do better than the rated mileage with...easily.

I got 37.7 out 85 miles and 36.6 back...less than I hoped for. This is probably because I kept letting the car gain speed to 80mph+.I should have just used the cruise control! There is just no vibration or noise to cue off of in this car...I am lucky I did not get a ticket.

Thank you!The TLX easily beats my 03 SI on the highway! The SI is geared so short it is revving at 4k rpm at 70 or so.This trip was from asheville to hickory and back BTW.I have found the TLX excellent around town too...if you don't accelerate hard.It is incredible to see numbers like this in such a big car.
I use Shell 93 octane premium exclusively.
Of course full throttle merges are fun so the trip down included one of those...otherwise I was being as light on the pedal as possible.

2015 TLX V6 Tech
My '15 TLX FWD V6 Tech got 40 MPG recently, interstate only, 70 MPH on a single tank of gas for the day. I have divided gallons on the pump by miles traveled and I come up about 2 MPG less than the computer showed. I am still very happy if it got 38 MPG.
With a lot of 60-65 MPH cruising I have seen 42 MPG on the computer.
This is all flat TX county.

From my experience, the trip computer seems pretty accurate for Canadian models. Mine showed 10.0 L/100km on my last fill up (over 379.6 km city driving only), and from what I calculated from the pump, I got 10.07 L/100km. I wonder why the US ones are so far out? Mine has been less than 2% out on every fill up.

For a 2.4,
I have averaged 34.36 mpg over 31,000 miles. (I have a record of every fill using the 'Road Trip' IOS app).
On the highway (about 75 mph), I find the mileage can reach about 40 mpg.
I don't think the highway mileage is affected by IDS setting...unless you drive in 'sport+' mode in some gear lower than 8 for extended distances.
I use mostly premium fuel.
I do notice that 'winter fuel' blends seem to result is slightly lower mpg.
The trip computer calculation and my pump calculation are about the same.

I've been getting significantly better gas mileage (4-5 mpg better) in my shawd than my 06 Mazda 3 5speed...which is pretty incredible considering the Acura is heavier, has twice the horsepower, is loaded with much more equipment and sound deadening, and is awd. my mazda would spin at 3,000+ rpm on the highway vs 1,500rpm for the TLX at 75 mph.
but even around town I am finding it to get better mpg.
very impressed. Oh, and also I am a bit of a lead foot and keep it in sport mode.

Recent trip from SE Wisconsin to Savannah and back SH AWD V6. The Avg from the car was showing about 1.5 MPG better then I actually computed but still awesome gas mileage for a V6.

Heck I used to only get 38 on my Goldwing and get around 42 on my FJR, this is a great car even with the little nit picks...

For my V6 (non-AWD), I get around 35-39.5 mpg on pure highway trips when I was averaging about 65-68 mph. Like I've said before, I don't want to try 60 mph since I'd probably be shot on Texas highways going that slowly since the speed limit is 75 mph in most places and 85 in some.

Took my V6 TLX tech on a weekend scenic drive. 160 miles hill country drive in a sport mode with 33.8 mpg. On the way back home took I35 highway for another 160 miles. 38.4 mpg in Eco mode is not bad for V6 engine. Thank to 9 speed ZF transmission keeping engine at 1600-1700 rpm at the speed 75-80 mph. I am really glad that I bought TLX with V6 engine. Plenty of power.

So I took my2016 2.4 for it's first highway trip from Winnipeg to Fargo. I had taken my 2015 3.5 SH-AWD for one highway trip last winter and got about 7.1 litres/100 km. Loved that engine, but I found the 2.4 to be an excellent quiet highway cruiser with more than enough power, with excellent fuel economy, as you will see by the numbers below.
All data is recorded once up to cruising speed, with virtually no wind the entire trip. BTW, in Canada, the car is rated for Highway at 6.6 litres/100 km.
Speed Fuel Consumption KM Driven Mode Fuel Consumption Miles per US Gallon
100 kph 4.9 litres/100 km 16 K Eco 48 mpg (62 mph)
105 kph 5.5 litres/100 km 45 K Normal 43 mpg (65 mph)
110 kph 5.6 litres/100 km 43 K Normal 42 mpg (68 mph)
115 kph 5.9 litres/100 km 42 K Normal 40 mpg (71.5 mph)
120 kph 6.0 litres/100 km 73 k Eco 39 mpg (75 mph)
120 kph 6.3 litres/100 km 16 k Normal 37 mpg (75 mph)
So what can one conclude from this carefully recorded data. Well, ECO on a warm day does improve fuel economy on the highway. Driving the speed limit of 75 mph on the US interstate yielded a fuel consumption rating of 6.0 l/100km or 39 mpg (US gallons). Driving the initial speed limit on the first leg of my journey in Canada, in eco mode, yielded a consumption of 4. 9 l/100 km or 48 mpg US, a hybrid like result. When I convert that to Canadian gallons, that's just under 58 mpg!! All of this with a very quiet ride and a great sound system. The 3.5 is an excellent engine for highway or city driving, but the 2.4 just works so well for both and is about 20% more fuel efficient. Did I mention the 8 speed DCT...

Mapleloaf...WOW! Those are amazing fuel mileage for sure!! I think that I should consider a I4 TLX with a bodykit cause quite frankly, I don't need a V6 as I do mostly local driving. I do love the power once in a while but I don't need a V6

Oh man, I got a 2.4 and I tried 3 different IDS modes (no sport+), and drive normal, no pedal to the metal or anything, and the most I got is 26.7 mpg combined. How the heck you guys get above 30mpg???

Combined I'm getting an average of 27.3mpg with the v6 engine.

Local driving numbers for Acura are generally poor. The posts with high MPG are all highway and all for extended periods. The average speed reading will prove this out. I think Acura's posted MPG is more aligned with city driving.
