Finally Made the Jump

I have had my 2009 Acura TSX for 8 years this May. It has been a great car but due to its age it is starting to have problems. So I decided it is time to get a new car but I only wanted to spend ~ $30k since we just recently bought a new car for my wife and also planning to buy our 1st home soon.

Looked at the new 2016 Honda Accord EX-L's but wasn't that impressed with them. So I decided to look at CPO TLX's.

It took some time and many test drives but I finally found a CPO 2015 TLX Tech that I liked. This one had only 6,457 miles on it and I was able to get it for $28k. Dealer offer $9000 for the TSX which was ok.

Great to here you got a tech pkg being that you bought it CPO, compared to a new base, let the modding begin!

Also nice Lexus NX! My sister will be getting a new car this summer and I want to take her test driving of the Lexus NX200t and Acura RDX since her first car was a 2000 Lexus rx300 and those are to comparable cars.

Thanks! 1st... I plan to get the car tinted and then maybe get new wheels and tires. Anything else... I'll play it by ear. It was a PITA to bring my TSX back to stock before I sold it. So any modding on this car will be conservative. Lol.

The NX 200t F Sport replaced a RDX Tech. The RDX was smoother but my wife loves the sporty black/red interior of the NX F Sport.

That's an I4 right? Ask the dealership if they've already applied all the software updates. I think the 8DCT had a couple of powertrain controle module updates.

How do you like that 8DCT so far by the way? I absolutely loved it but couldn't live without SH-AWD, but I think the 8-speed is the better trans of the two. And be prepared for some absurdly good fuel economy (even when driven in Sport mode, I don't recommend driving in Econ except maybe on a long highway cruise)! That's one of the things this car does best.

And if you want a mod that does the most for you, swap the tires out. The stock tires are absolutely abysmal. A good set of performance all-seasons absolutely changes this car for the better.

Congrats and happy motoring! Looking at your pic, I have to say that the formerly maligned Acura front end (we can thank the 2009 TL) looks much better than the Lexus, IMHO.

^ It will grow on you. First few times I saw the Lexus NX I said Woah thats a bit much, now I love the styling of the new NX and RX, looks very bold but nice. But, to each their own.
