Is it as simple as a drain and fill? Asking because I read this: https://acurazine.com/forums/fifth-g...ce-diy-940936/ and am confused about "air purge procedure", shifting into P, and filling to the proper level twice??? Would appreciate if any members who did this could chime in on their experiences. Also, anyone know the part # for the washers?

Washer part #'s are 90471-PX4-000 and 94109-20000 according to my recent B16 service receipt.

I think that the shift into P and running for one minute is the air purge. This step moves the fluid into the system and displaces any air. You then top off the fluid level since the level dropped during purge.

I liked it so much better when they just gave you a dipstick to check level and to fill the ATF.

Thanks, that makes sense, however isn't the car already in park? Do they mean shift into drive and then back into park?

So I just completed this b16 service myself today (rear diff fluid change along with oil/filter change as well as tire rotation). It took me about 2 hours total and everything went smoothly. Honestly the most time consuming part is pumping the diff fluid. I used the quart sized pump fluid sold on Amazon and it takes a LOT of pumps to get 2 quarts in...
