Brake caliper cover

These look so nice, than the boaring plain calipers. they are 200 bucks on ebay. has anyone put one of these on, do they fit and have enough clearance?

I painted mine with a $6 can from pepboys. I can probably find an "Acura" sticker for a few dollars more to finish it off. But if money isnt as important these ones do look really cool!

Expect you will get a lot of flack about them. It seems some people don't like them.

I ran a used set I got on ebay for 3 years on a BMW 335is. Sprayed them high temp flat black. For whatever reason the 335is was the only BMW I ever had with fugly calipers even though they were 4 piston performance versions. They fit with no problems & looked a lot better than what was there even if I painted the OEM'S.

from a short distance away you would not even notice them which was the plan.

My $6 pepboys can of caliper paint. Only takes a couple hours to do once the wheels come off.

I did. No fitment or clearance issues.

I've wondered why the TLX doesn't have them. Doesn't the RDX have them standard? It would be a nice "premium" detail.

$200 for caliper covers? I'd either clean and paint the calipers themselves (but mask off the pads) or take off the calipers and have them powdercoated.

The vehicle I traded in for my TLX was a 2012 Honda Crosstour AWD. I experimented with putting caliper covers on it, but after seeing how they fit and such, decided against it. Here is what they look like. A full set of these were like $75 on Ebay. What I didn't like about them was the not so perfect fit, the glue that holds them on, and under close inspection, you can see they are just plastic covers. Nope, didn't like them.

If the calipers on the TLX are about the same size as the ones on the 3g TL you could buy RDX caliper covers and install those, they're black aluminum and look clean, lots of 3g owners have them, myself included.

How they look like behind dirty wheels:

I don't know but from pictures alone I'd say the calipers on the TLX are roughly the same size as the ones on the TL.

I had a set of caliper covers for my 4G that I tried on the TLX. They don't work due to the way the clamps fit. The calipers are different from the 4G to the TLX

Yeah but the RDX covers have flexible tabs that you bend in order to fit on your calipers. On the 3g the rear fit without even bending the tabs while you had to bend the fronts all the way in order for them to fit, I can't imagine the TLX calipers being so different that they wouldn't fit at all.

I tried to get them to fit on the fronts but they either would rub or not stay clipped.

Well yeah you have to stick em on there using either JB weld or RTV silicone, they're meant to go on the RDX so you can't expect them to clip right on to our calipers. Worst case you straight up cut the tabs off and simply stick the covers on there, most people use the tabs as another sticking point bending them more or less depending on caliper size.

I don't know about the 4g or TLX but on the 3g once they're installed you lose maybe 1/8th of an inch in clearance, not enough to interfere with the wheels. So unless the clearance on the TLX is tiny the covers should fit.
