Battery life in FOB?

Just curious - I've had my 15 TLX for about 29 months - I'm getting the Low Battery Warning for my key fob. Anyone else from the early adopter crowd replace a battery in their key fob yet?

Seems odd to me as I've been working from home for the past year and only drive it maybe 3 or 4 times a month now.

Thanks!

My wife's died in her MDX right around the 2yr mark, as did mine in my TLX. we both use it routinely for remote starts, opening the tailgate, etc.

Two years on ours - no low battery warning yet. Regarding usage, as I understand it the fob is transmitting all the time, not like the older systems that only transmitted when you pushed a button. Therefore, time may be as important as usage.

My wife's Cadillac ATS fob (broadcasts all the time) needed a battery at three years. My Mazda Miata (broadcasts only when asked to) needed one at five years.

On my Infiniti I got just around 2.5 years out of the battery, depends how much use essentially.

I've had mine a bit over 29 months now and haven't noticed any warnings. Now I just had to replace the batteries in my home security system's key fob after a few years, but you didn't ask about that.

Of course now that I said the fob is working correctly, tomorrow, it will fail ... this is how things work with me. lol.
