Are you getting any error messages on the multi-information display?

I had this happen to me when I first got my TLX (2015 ADV SH-AWD) but I'm not sure it wasn't user error. I couldn't get to the ACC to set and go. It would turn off after a few seconds. I haven't had the problem since my first road trip however. I've been mindful to do as the manual says but there's an ambiguous statement in the manual's ACC section that I bet comes into play:
"Certain conditions may cause ACC to cancel automatically. When this happens, a beep sounds and a message appears on the multi-information display."

I'm positive that sometimes there are some conditions not being met and the system is refusing to keep the ACC on. In that case, you can press the RES/+ button to have the system resume. However, you should glance at the dash's multi-display to see what the current reason is that the ACC won't stay engaged.

In your posts, you haven't give a ton of details....

How fast are you going when you set it?

What buttons, in sequence, are you pressing?

Are you sure that you aren't brushing the brake pedal at all?

So going 60+ miles, I press set-, and on MID message appears "ACC off" . I keep trying same thing, I turn the Main odd, try again in 3-4min and it finally engages.

Would you possibly have anything obstructing the front beak - including any 3M coating or equivalent? The radar is behind that, and there was an article early on cautioning again using coatings on the grille area.

Just a thought.

Make sure you're in ACC mode and not CRUISE mode. It took me a couple of attempts to figure this out. If you're in CRUISE mode, cancel it, then go into ACC mode. Then hit "SET" when you're at the desired speed. Failing that, do as others instructed above, I guess. I usually use CRUISE mode, but can't remember what it does as far as the display goes, so you may be doing it correctly. I'd test it for you, but my car is going through the recall.

No, i was in Acc mode, my friend recommended car wash as i had a bit of salt on the car and that may have interfered with signals. We just had a lot of snow in east coast and today was the only day that sun was out and i had time to take it for a car wash. I will test it out tomm and report back.

How do that QA/QC all the systems on every car? I wonder if they have a diagnostic test for every feature via plug in?

In my opinion, you should take yours in and find out what the issue is. It could be a loose connection or something else

First year models that have a *lot* of changes - like the TLX - almost always have issues. I saw a Consumer Reports video where they talked about how reliability scores always take a hit when a lot of new tech is introduced, or a new powertrain, etc. Then the subsequent year models always trend up. Not making excuses here but that's the reality of buying a 2015 TLX - it's got a good warranty so use it if you need to!

I had the same thing happen to me. The easy fix I used (which has permanently eliminated the one-time problem) is to move the telescoping steering wheel. After doing that, the issue has never reoccurred.

Ok, after watching your video, it's definitely not what I thought. I can see ACC attempting to come on. The only thing I can think of is something wrong with the camera or blocking its field of view or the radar is having issues. Have you tried using it on some other road? Or on the same road maybe in daylight? I haven't seen this issue the few times I used ACC or used LKAS.

Hope you get it resolved soon. I had to get out the manual to see how to use "normal" cruise. Just in case I ever have issues with the ACC (hold the distance button on steering wheel).

Because the issue, at least in my case, is caused by something in the ACC switch on the steering wheel (or the column electronics) and not the exterior radar sensors.

Driving home tonight the ACC cut out on the highway with a beep but stayed on when it was reselected. The car was quite filthy so I an putting it down to dirt. This is the first time that it has happened in 6 months.

Wow I wouldn't believe it if some dirt were able to mess up the whole system. Can you imagine if it failed on the highway at higher speeds due to some smudge on the sensors? Then again, it uses laser near the rearview, not sure what the other one is.

No wow! Failing at high speed or low speed is not a cause for concern. It is not like a brake failure and just means that you have to resume full control. There is a beep to alert you when this happens and you fell the loss of acceleration.

UPDATE
Took it in this morning, of course when they test drove it was working fine, the service guy who has been on the job less than a month kept giving me all sort of BS, he didnt even know how ACC supposed to work or do, totally clueless. He kept telling me if it detects a car in front of you, ACC will turn off, and thats why i kept getting "ACC off" notification, and I kept telling him no dude, it supposed to slow down but not cut off, anyways arguing with him was futile. I was done being nice,I asked for my regular service guy or told them I will not be coming back to that dealership ever again.
They Gave me a 2016 ILX loaner and told me they will run diagnostics and call me with their findings.

Now this 2016 ILX, what a POS this is. It small, loud,i mean loud, i guess coming off TLX whcih is so quiet, boaring inside, unresposnive trasnmission. In my humble opinion 30K piece of junk.

I really think as a luxury brand Acura's process of hiring, training and educating their sales and service staff leaves a lot to be desired.
When I had Audi, their sales and service staff were so knowledgable, seems like Acura will hire any high school drop out.

Why do you make a blanket statement like that? You had one bad experience and now Acura will hire any high school drop out?
Allllll-righty then...

I understand you are having an issue and are pissed but this isn't life or death.

Too much emotion in that interaction. As soon as you detect BS just bump it up to the service manager. No satisfaction there then find another dealer and send a letter to the GM and copy Acura HQ.

I've had the same problem 4 times, and each time I go to the dealer, they are exceedingly apologetic and always more than helpful. This is a new car, with a lot of new technology. One guy not understanding how something works doesn't warrant such a blanket statement.

Also, I had to remind myself that it's not these guys fault! They're just as much puzzled as we are as to why these issues are popping up. I guarantee you that being patient and kind with them will net you a better response.

In the end, you do have your choice of dealership. Hope all of your concerns are resolved expeditiously.

Can you imagine working at that dealership and then you have a customer having a tantrum and making demands? I have been in the waiting area and seen people act like that.. the others in the waiting area all look at each other and roll their eyes. I just shake my head. Some think that because they pay $XX means they are entitled to treat others that way.

The ole "you catch more flies with honey than vinegar" sort of thing.

Right on. All service people deserve your respect - even the incompetent ones. If they refuse to offer you the same respect then don't do business with them.
