Car is very bland. Not a sports sedan like the 3rd Gen. A freaking Kia Optima looks more sporty than this car. haha

Are you getting an Optima for your next car?

I think vbx is on every car forum I'm on. He's an equal opportunity offender.

vbx, what are you driving now? Didn't you trade in your IS 350 for a Q50? I know I've seen you on the ATS forums, too.

I guess I'll post this here, but here's an exterior and interior video walkaround. I'm not sure if it's been posted already or not :

You might laugh but I was just admiring a Kia earlier this week. I think they make some pretty nice looking cars (comparatively speaking).

Too bad about the interior trim. I think if they took that faux chrome accent stuff out it would look pretty darn nice. Right now the interior is like a fine Armani suit that someone bedazzled.

One thing about the video walkaround above : it looked a lot better in the video. Especially the front/head-on view of the car. It didn't look as good to me during the reveal or in many of the pics I've seen to-date. I can't wait to see what this looks like in white or black (in person, that is).

ATS forum? Link? I'm not on that forum. I'm driving a Qsh*tty at the moment.

Never-mind, yeah, I use to post at ATS. I was at GLP too. But that place is where a lot of Caucasians goto to be racist.

Maybe a 2016 Genesis Coupe? If the New Q60 Coupe doesn't come with a manual, most likely.

They do make nice looking car. They just need to branch out with a luxury brand cause Kia sounds like Kia.

Korean cars do have better exterior designs and come with boatloads of features. But from the limited readings I've gathered (Korean cars aren't on the top of my shopping list), they still don't drive as good as Honda/Acura's or a Lexus.

European cars do handle better than Japanese counterparts but I have yet to discover the proverbial money tree that is suppose to have been planted in my backyard.

Thankfully it is not chrome. It is aluminum, just don't know if it is real or plastic. It looks fine to me. If it where chrome it would be awful.

The Kia Optima has some great features at a pretty reasonable price. They improve their products at an astounding rate. They are not afraid of putting desirable features like ventilated seats on 'low end' cars... not fearing that they are cannibalizing their own sales. If I were Acura I would be concerned where Kia will be in a one more product generation. And since they can produce new designs much faster than Acura, they will never be able to catch up once they are passed.

And of course the same thing goes for Honda. You can get ventilated seats in the Sonata, and they are about to spit out yet another generation of the Sonata.

Ford's noticed, too. Ventilated seats just made it into the options list for late MY2014 Fusions. Autodimming exterior mirrors, too (Mazda6 has this, as well). Heated steering wheel (this is a big one for me - it seems most non-Japanese cars have this, despite Japan's frequently snowy climate).

Didn't hear of these guys before but this is a well done review. Unfortunately all these reviews are done in the I4 Tech vice the V6 Advance.

He says the the aluminum is painted plastic. Sigh.... but practically thinking what else would I expect.

Extebded version...

Of this video of the black car. Just more of the same of the shorter version. This car does not have fog lights, so I think it must be the I4 Base model? But it does have the sharkfin antenna and around 6 minutes it slows down and you can kind of make out the wheels. Look like the nice wheels from the V6. So I'm confused.

While I agree I have read that Hyundai took that criticism and hire Lotus to tune the new Genesis sedan suspension and it shows. One thing about the Koreans is I still feel their interior materials do not fell as luxurious as they look.

Hey Rocket_man...I saw that video and watched it again and I think the wheels are the ugly ones (the 7th one down if you open this link)

http://www.hondasacuras.com/2014/04/...pics-with.html

Now seeing the car, I will say that it does look pretty decent and putting a bodykit and nicer wheels will do wonder for this car. I am not sure I like the fog lights on the front though....seeing the front without the fog lights gives it a cleaner look. For me, the love of the TLX ends inside....

It must be this version of the wheels then and that is probably the base I4. But this car doesn't interest me anyway... maybe they put these ugly wheels on this trim to upsell the Tech model?

^^ Yep, it is these wheels in my opinion and they sure are ugly!! I am with you on the strategy that make the wheels as ugly as possible to push more people to buy the up level trims.

Hey, Weather, I am trying to be as positive as possible today.... LOL.... so if we compare these 17" rims of the TLX to those horrendous ones on the 4G FWD TL (before the MMC) these are very handsome indeed.... LOL! Yes, do you remember those ugly things? Actually, even after the MMC, those 17" 4G FWD TL rims are not great either, but at least not as ugly as those original ones...

Mind you, the 4G TL Advance/Elite trim does have the best 19" rims ever for the TL....

OK, Weather, just to remind you how awful things were, here's a photo reminder:

OMG, that TL was suffering from Toyota-itis so badly - big body and tiny little wheels... how did that happen!? In fact, these rims look kind of like cheap steel rims.... or some very old rims without the cover. Now pass the sick bucket....

^^^^^^

I hated those wheels. They reminded me of the wheels on several of the Dodge Caravan models. On the other hand, the wheels they chose for the SH-AWD trim from '09 - '11 were some of my favorite Acura wheels ever.

Isn't it horrible that we have to lower our standard to make ourselves feel better now!? ROTFLOL

Seriously, Acura needs to learn from Audi and BMW for some serious rim designs.... mind you, they can do it - just look at those gorgeous rims on the 4G TL (SH-AWD and Advance/Elite) after the MMC - aren't those just gorgeous!? Actually, the 4G TL SH-AWD rims before the MMC, are totally gorgeous too....

It is kind of amazing how I can hardly even remember a bad BMW wheel. Even their stock wheels generally look great. I wonder why Acura suddenly finds this so hard? I'm not a wheel fanatic but like a nice set of earrings on a pretty woman it can really set off the car.

I do like the V6 SH-AWD wheels on the TLX. Hopefully those are not exclusive to the SH-AWD.

If anyone has any doubts of the importance of good wheels and the effect it has on a car, just look at a GORGEOUS car in the winter (in Canada) with the steel wheels and how ugly the car gets. Wheels/Rims can make or break a car.

They should put the four rims and build a car around them rather than the other way around *lol*

And there folks, is the reason why I couldn't stand the 4G...that picture is the epitomy of failure.

Walkaround of the Gray V6 Advanced

The lighting is pretty harsh, especially on the light color interior. The power is not on, no trunk view.

TLX SH-AWD 'Test Drive'

This is the 'test drive' footage that was shown by Acura during the unveiling. Produced by Acura I assume.

LED fogs with the front and rear parking sensors.

So this must be the advance??

and at 2:16 - 2:18, is that the collision warning alert on the front of the dash (closest to windshield)?

V6 Advanced Pic

The touch screen and control knob come forward on the dash, I assume for easier reach.

Again the lighting is really washed out. There were other pictures but weren't worth posting. Nothing new.

Yes this is the Advanced Trim so I assume the fog lights have LED bulbs. Not to be confused with the LED accent strips on the prototype. Those were never fog lights.

Yes that looks like the Accord collision warning alert.

The paint has a really heavy metal flake to it, I like it. It is hard to get a good sense of the car just from pictures and video. Can't wait to see one in person.

FYI.. the tires with the accessory 19" wheels are 245/40R19's.
