2016 TLX Certified pre-owned. Yes or no go? ( personal, commercial, corporate)

I've done a great deal of research on this car and I think that it's what i will be purchasing. I checked the certified pre-owned inventory around me and it seems like cars that has 5k~ miles is 5k-10k cheaper. I was talking to my cousin the other day and he said to NOT buy any leased, commercial, corporate, rental use vehicles because there's a high chance of it being heavily abused. He's a car enthusiasts and has been doing his own car work for years.

I was looking into :

2016 TLX V6 Technology package (commercial use) 5k miles and costs $29,990

2016 TLX V6 (personal use) 4k miles and costs $27,750

I would like to hear your guys input on this. The tech package would be useful for especially the collision warning, speaker setup, and navigation. What are the chances these loaned/commercial/corporal vehicle being abused?

please note the 2 cars are 2016 models. Under 5k miles and no issues reported and under cerified pre-owned by Acura.

Is it worth it the "risk"?

EIther of these is pretty low risk, especially CPO. I lean for the tech package, personally.

Yes, low risk for 5k miles either way.

Commercial use for a car like the TLX probably means it was registered under a business for tax purposes... I don't think anyone is hauling construction materials or delivering pizza in it.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were just returns from folks not thrilled with the ZF transmission.

I wouldn't buy a car that was used as part of a rental fleet simply because I know how I used to drive rentals when I traveled for work on a regular basis. Otherwise I wouldn't have a problem buying from a commercial fleet or from an individual. Make sure you do your due diligence. Look for lots of stone chips - uneven wear on the tire tread, smoke damage under the hood (kidding about that one) or other signs of abuse.

Cars today are built pretty tough - I think even if they were abused for a period of months you're still okay - if you buy a 10 year old car that's been driven hard you may be in trouble.

Also - get the tech package - it's worth it.

Not up to speed on TLX pricing but if the tech package has the remaining factory warrantee it could be a nice buy. If not would get the CPO car.

If price isn't an issue, I'd definitely go with the TLX that has the Tech package. Too many good options on it to not get it.

As a personal owner and TLX enthusiast, and as a Salesman who works at an Acura dealership in Sales, I can suggest if its Certified Pre-Owned I would personally take the technology package any day. I understand your concerns due to it being a fleet vehicle but it has 5,000 miles on it. I would look in detail at its condition and interior, if it is clean, pounce on it! An Acura CPO Powertrain warranty is 100,000 miles. The stuff "someone might have abused" like your engine and transmission have 95,000 remaining miles of warranty. The technology package is worth it! Good Luck with your decision!

Isn't the factory extended by 1 year and 12K miles? It was on my '10 TSX. 5K miles.
