is there a new link for this? i got this update done a while back, is there a revision to the software?
#205
I had this TSB applied in February 2016 when my transmission was replaced, but looks like there is updated software. Will the dealer automatically update the software or do you have to ask?
#206
I could be wrong, but I don't believe the dealer is required to do any TSB unless you complain about it/request it. Their first question to me is always where I got the TSB. One time, I was told not to believe everything I see on the Internet. Ok, boss. lol.

It may vary by dealer or what recommendations the factory makes, but on my '15 4 cyl, when I went in for the first scheduled service their computer and my receipt showed it was eligible for a TSB, and they applied it (the 8 speed transmission fix).

Until the ignition is turned on again, AcuraLink features such as Stolen Vehicle Locator and Remote Door Lock/Unlock will not be available. We will send you another message when your AcuraLink system is again operational.

Glad I'll be getting rid of my 15 TLX very soon. The amount of TSBs just keep on piling up, so long for Japanese quality ... Just for reference, the A4 only has 2.

Does anyone know what L4 trim means or what this sound resembles? Now that my engine chirping was fixed, I can hear a faint clicking at idle that almost sounds like a lifter tick. My service advisor said it was normal when I asked about it last month. I'm still not so sure.

On the ticking, I know that is inherent to engines, but my TLX is much more pronounced than any other make, model or trim I've ever observed idling. That's why I threw it out there when I saw this TSB. If no one else notices theirs, I'll simply have to get over it!

Oh man. When I logged in and saw on the homepage this one applied to all years, I got really, really excited that it was the silver bullet for the rear diff expressway vibration. Short lived excitement, but exciting nevertheless. A few clicks revealed it's just another p.o.s. ZF9 problem.

Hello everyone! I'm new to posting here but have been using the information since I got my TLX in March. Just wanted to point out this thread was extremely useful when I first got my TLX as it shed light several of the issues I was noticing (Bump at stop, slow shifting, rattle upon startup cam chain tensioner). Thank you for keeping it up to date!

Thank You so much for the TSB's. The dealership told my dad that it would be a cat bank2 replacment. So when I came home I told him that to call the dealership that we will take it somewhere later. So they charged a 100 dollar "dignosis fee". I think they just looked at the code. I bet they didnt see this TSB or ignored it and tried to get him to pay for it.

Six years after the 1G rolled out, Acura is *still actively* trying to deal with the ZF9 on 15-17 TLXs.
That in of itself wouldn't be disastrous to Acura as a brand. I mean, it was a highly anticipated and hyped sedan, but the hard drop in sales after the first year ultimately made it a low volume vehicle. The thousands of people (like me) who left the brand for Lexus, BMW, Volvo and so many other superior sedans is relatively inconsequential. Had it not been for my AWD vibration, the behavior of the ZF9 would have eventually driven me away from my TLX. It's awful.
But whoever the bonehead or collection of boneheads that decided to double down on this turd of a slushbox and *put it in the* MDX must literally be trying to kill the brand. That is their flagship, biggest seller and a prestigious SUV for neighborhoods across the country. Acura is about to irritate a lot of businessmen and soccer moms with this wonky unit. Honda and Acuca now have intelligent buyers like me actively avoiding Pilots, Odysseys and MDXs with ZF9s.
This decision could literally turn out as badly for Honda and Acura as the Pinto gas tank or Vega engine.

Brought my TLX in for the latest TSB and told them some issues I've had over the years and the amount of attempts. They're going to apply the TSB with the 2-3 gear chirp for now.
I've gotten used to the car over the years anyways and I still love it, but they put me in a 2019 TLX Advance and the transmission feels so much smoother. Also the seats are much better than my 2015. Anyone know if the seats are a direct fit?

UPDATE:
Acura approved a transmission replacement for my 2015. Finally after about a year and a half of bringing it into one dealership multiple times and this one twice, I'm getting a new transmission. Should have my car back by end of next week.
For now they have me in a 2019 Advance and the difference in shifts between this and mine is night and day. The transmission in normal mode is as, if not more, responsive than mine in sport mode. I don't feel the shifts unless I am actively paying attention to them as there is a slight shift you can feel, but it is buttery smooth in comparison. Hopefully mine will be when I get it back next week. I'm excited.

So small update...
I found out yesterday that I am also getting a new radiator + lines/hoses. So I don't know the official diagnosis of my car (didn't have time to ask as I was in meetings all day), but my best guess is the ATF warmer failed, a little over a year after I brought it to them, and possibly some ATF and coolant mixed in the radiator since my advisor told me about this TSB AFTER the new transmission was in. Hopefully get it back by tomorrow or Saturday. As great as this advisor has been, he's horrible at initiating a call and keeping me updated, I have to email and then he calls. So maybe they'll find another TSB to work on after this new radiator is hooked up
2 weeks now....missing my car.
