I agree. Not much of a concern, at this point.

This car wash mode is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard of. Has to be the result of Acura's failure to have properly done a design FMEA.
Think I can safely predict multiple lawsuits over the damage that will occur to these cars. Probably a class action suit.
Anyone already heard of a car being damaged in a car wash?

I was at my Acura Dealer on April 16th and they told me there was no update for this issue. I did have the actual update done in March and it worked great for a while and now it has gotten worse again. I even was on the phone with the Acura Client Relations rep on the 15th and he was not aware of this.
And my VIN is in this specific set of vehicles. Not sure where or how they communicate but it is not like normal people do. I am disappointed that I have to call them back and bring it to their attention.
Thanks for the info!

My dealer plays this game. You have to print it out and show it to them for them to acknowledge. Ridiculous. The quality of Acura dealers is so inconsistent...

An impressive and complex procedure to fix a tiny chirp. Great that this has been identified and a TSB developed! Almost makes me wish that I was a hobby mechanic.

Does TSB 15-017 only apply if the AcuraLink Status indicator is continously red?? I've read that some users seem to have their indicator stay green, and only occasionally turn red- so, in that situation, should the TCU be replaced??

Acura Canada is so far behind. The USA has a dozen or so TSB's for various issues, Canada has 2 lol.

The update to the ODMD that changes and/or adds many features, Acura Canada has no clue about.

I wonder what this means... "NOTE: Unnecessary or incorrect repairs resulting from a failure to update the HDS or MVCI are not covered under
warranty."

Does this mean if the dealer didn't do this repair properly it is not covered under warranty? Or that Acura will not reimburse the dealer for the work? How is the owner supposed to know if this was done right or wrong?

If I read correctly this is more for engine module , not for the transmission.
I don't think is the "magic bullet " that everybody is waiting relative to ZF 9 speed.
Maybe I'm wrong and is the "magic bullet"...

Curiously the TSB indicates it applies to ALL 2015 TLX V6 with A/T, yet towards the bottom of the page there are Program IDs (to be checked during the update) only for the Tech and Advanced packages. Nothing listed in the table for the Base models.

You may be correct, but in the bulletin itself it says :

SYMPTOM
The vehicle hesitates, surges, idles high, shifts hard, or auto idle stop does not work.

I have no idea if this is the magical fix either, so we'll just have to wait for reports back from members who have the update applied.

Hope this fixes all the erratic shifting some owners are experiencing.

This update is highly recommended. I brought my vehicle into Maple Acura today to have this done. They applied 3 updates total (engine + transmission). I purchased the car in late of May 2015; who would've guessed three updates within 2 months period. The car shifts so much better now. It does not surge forward in Sport+ mode during downshift or shifts hard anymore in any other modes.

Wow, updates available in Canada! It must be significant. Will see if it applies to my car in the Fall when I put on the snow tires.

I had the update done this morning too. Although I agree that the surging and downshifts appear better, I did have two pretty harsh shifts from 2-3.

The rest of the time, the shifts from 2-3 have been more muted, but still there. There have been a few that I didn't feel at all.

You always hope that this is the perfect update, to fix everything. Then, when that one shift happens (and somehow, you always know right before it is going to happen), BAM. You are knocked down a few pegs.

I will continue to drive and see if it improves, stays the same, or goes back to being mean and evil.

I'm at 40% oil life and probably I'll have to go for the first oil change in a month or so.
Definitely I'll have the TSB printed and asked them to apply it .
I really hope to improve the transmission behavior to start to enjoy my TLX finally...

Yeah, good idea to print it and bring it in with you. I just called to make an appointment and the service adviser had no clue about this TSB. After some digging, he found it. I'd also mention there's other updates that need to have been done before they do this one.

I'm getting my V6 Tech done later next week... will let you know if the 2nd-3rd shift improves at all.

What was the update #? The US TSB's are different then the Canadian ones.

Hope to hear from others you have gotten the update. We need a better reporting method. Is there a way to use our smart phones to instrument "surges" ? I have an iOS app that measures vibrations. I will place it in fron of the upper display and see if it can display anything that can be shared to see a difference.

This is a thread about TSBs. Probably better to look in the thread on this update in the Problems and Fixes section. Owners are reporting their results there.
