'14 Accord Coupe EX-L V6 M6 w/Nav for '15 TLX Tech?
Back after a 19 month hiatus!
Had a '09 TL Tech that I traded on a '14 Accord EX-L V6 w/ Nav and a 6 speed manual. The car is great, but just got my wife an Infinit QX60 (need 1 SUV in the garage) and am really feeling the urge to go back to a premium brand...more specifically Acura.
Thoughts, comments, "do it", "don't do it" would be helpful.
Also, it would appear that the bolt pattern on the TLX is the same as the Accord, so I would move the 19's on the Accord to the TLX if I were to do this (glad I kept the original rims).
Edit...should have been specific...TLX V6 Tech

Would you miss the manual? I think the Accord coupe is a great car and I just don't think the TLX has enough quite yet to make it worth the trade but that all depends on what it is you are looking for at this point in your life.

I vote don't do it. I'd wait until after the MMC TLX. The recent Acura MMC's have brought some nice changes so I'm hoping they won't mess it up with the TLX, but who knows Acura is unpredictable.

I'd stay away from the TLX V6 at least until MMC, it is a beautiful car though. But throttle tip in and acceleration is awful, and you'll be rolling the dice with the transmission. Have you considered a 2012-14 TL AWD Tech?

I am with the don't do it crowd. The current gen tlx is a really nice car, but I feel it is lacking in some areas and I feel that the mmc will address ALL my issues. My biggest dislike is the absence of exhaust tips, while not a boring car, it can be rather bland sometimes. I don't know how I will feel about the new grille though to be honest.

Yeah I also say hold off until at least the MMC; it's just around the corner and should take care of all the issues the TLX is currently having. I still like this car because it looks great, has those jewel eye headlights, and drives fantastic on the highway which is my main commute but there are certainly several well documented major flaws and issues (transmission and vibration on highway for some ppl) you don't want to risk experiencing.

Personally, no- don't do it for the 15. Yes for a 16/17 if you absolutely need a new car now. But like others have stated, if you can- wait for the MMC.

Don't do it. Ever.
6MT > everything else.
Honestly, the top of the line Accord is a nice car... it's not like acura goes way beyond that in terms of being "premium". If anything, only the badge is more premium.

I would miss the 6MT on the Accord.

So pulled the trigger...couldn't pass it up after driving it.
Yes, I loved the M6 on the Accord, but love the feel of the TLX even more...feels like I'm back in my '09 TL from a materials quality and quiteness perspective.
Was out of the dealership by 11:30 and had my 19's from the Accord on the TLX by 2:00.
Some before (at the dealership) pics:
And after (with the rims on).
Super happy with how the rims look on the GLM.
Happy to be a returning 'zine'r!

I think he just wanted to debate it, but had probably already made up his mind before making the thread.
I love it, man...congrats! Looks great with the wheels, I'm hoping you may be getting some springs for a slight lowering of the vehicle? That would really set those wheels (rims) off.

Haha guess you already had the answer. Congrats on the TLX, and the wheels look great on the car.
Honestly I love my TLX, just a few minor things I'd change and it'd be just about perfect.

All things considered, it was one of those deals that was too good to pass up.
Great money for the trade coupled with an extremely competitive sell price. Car is clean...not just dealer detailed clean, but clean!

dealer detail is a joke, go find a real detailer and the results are night and day. Costs a little more for a independent detailer, but the work done is well worth the difference in price. Assuming you find a reputable one.

Congrats on the new TLX! I'm a bit late to this thread but coming from all FWD cars since I first started driving(2001 - Present) and going to my first SH-AWD with my current TLX, I would hands down recommend SH-AWD. After driving FWD after all these years I can't believe what I've been missing.
To all the naysayers that keep saying the TLX is just a gussied up Accord, I say drive the SH-AWD model. No torque steer, no spinning of tires on quick turn/accelerations, and you'll never get an Accord/FWD TLX to get a little sideways in the rain/snow with hard accelerations mimicking a RWD car. First time I accidentally did that in a parking lot in the rain I think the little kid in me went weeeee.

Happy for you, but that 6 spd Accord coupe was well ummm more of an enthusiast ideal (all these guys complain about the lack of manual in the TLX/Maxima anymore etc) to each it's own! Especially since you have that Infiniti SUV in the garage!
