$1500 incentive at Edmunds on TLX
Good for both the 2016 and 2017 TLX. You must apply for the incentive at the link below, and then bring it to your dealer. Good deal!

This is simply a private special offer that can pop up anytime and be in different dollar amounts, depending on your computer, IP address, time on site, etc, etc.
I seem to see it pop up often. It goes from $750 to $1750 range, and has to be used as cash down, in conjunction with Acura Financial financing or leasing. They've done this before, to kind of see how many Edmunds.com shoppers they can turn into ILX/TLX/etc interest and buyers.

AFAIK (based on others' experiences on other Acura forums) the $1500 can be used on top of all incentives except for loyalty $1k... So if you have a $1500 offer, you can get another $500 off (if you're leasing)

I got mine earlier this week with no issues. $1,750. Procedure I used was to 1) Open an incognito window in Chrome. 2) Go to edmunds.com and investigate the car of interest (2016 TLX SH-AWD Advance in my particular case). 3) Then change selection to Lexus ES 350. 4) Pop up opened prompting for email address and perhaps one other bit of information. 5) Submit, and code shows up. (Notes I have seen elsewhere indicate the email will be used for a reminder if the coupon is not used).
Good THROUGH 9/6. CANNOT be stacked with the Lease Loyalty incentive. However, there seems to be another unadvertised incentive out there which they were able to apply to my purchase, so make sure and ask - however that other incentive was only good for delivery through the end of August.

I'm in the market for a 2016 and have the 1.5k code. How much was the unadvertised incentive? The terms say you have to finance for at least 24 months, anyone know if you can pay it off before that without penalty? I'm only interested in financing to get the 1.5k discount and would want to pay off the balance asap.

I'd expect that if you opened an icognito browser, visited TLX Advance, then visited Lexus ES 350 you could get the $1,750 code.
The minimum financing seems to be $10,000, according to my dealer. At 1.9% APR, that amounts to only $200 over 24 months, preserving most of the incentive. That said, the sales person *thought* that one might be able to pay it off early, after 4 months. I have my doubts about that.

The finance agreement should specify whether or not there is any type pre-payment penalty.
Technically, once you receive your title in the mail, you could re-finance the loan with a lower (provably credit union).

Incentive seems to be $1,000, but your dealer may be different.

In Wisconsin these days, the secured party/lien holder gets the title, not the borrower - just learned about that today.
#18
Pretty sure that's everywhere... The title is more or less the ownership of the car... Hence, the bank has the title... because they own the car, not you...
#19
Actually, I own a lot more of the car than the bank does. 😉 This did not used to be this way in WI, in 2002 when I last financed. I think it changed because lay people got confused or maybe o e folks bought cars with lie holders listed without understanding what that meant.

But hmm - that's actually very interesting... I'm a bit younger, so I wasn't driving in 2002, but recently in CT, VA, and (IIRC) NY, they list the lien holder on the registration, but you only get the official title of the car if it's completely paid off or you buy it cash. With my TL, I didn't even get my title when I purchased the car cash from the dealership because the dealership had a lien on the car! Took about a month and a half to arrive (along with my plates)

If you stop making payments for a few months, I'd wager that the bank will be at your door with a tow truck ready to take both your bank's and your share of the car

I am new to this forum and bought my first Acura TLX 2016. Does anyone know if we can refinance the loan with credit union without any penalties? I used Edmunds coupon and got 1K dealer cash when I bought in Aug 2016.
#23
yes you can without any penalties. is your rate with your credit union that much better?
#24
What rate did Acura offer you? Did they have the 0.9% for 60 months like they currently do for the 2016 models? I don't think a credit union can even beat the standard 2.9% for 60 months. I've seen credit union offers of 1.99% but haven't met anyone that actually got that rate. Most outside rates for 60 months are around 4%.
#25
Thanks for the response. My rate with acura is 2.99% and credit union I have pre-aproved since last year for 1.74%. Not huge but better. I had to go with Acura as edmunds coupon required that. My only concern is after I refinance, acura comes with a clause to have me pay back the 1750$ that I got with coupon. So wanted to ask if anyone successfully did that.
