03 CLS6 With Full Bolt On's +200 Shot Of Nitrous

My imrc wasn't working and I had it jetted a tad on the rich side. So that hurt the numbers a little.

200 shot?! And it holds the shot consistently w/o damaging anything? Wow, the J series is stronger than I thought lol. Must be a ton of fun

That's correct. So far so good. It's probably had at least 10-15 complete bottles through the engine ranging from all different size shots. It's a handle full but I love it!

Gotta love nitrous, it makes any engine a torque monster haha!

All I am gonna say is...

IT'S ABOUT TIME! ;-)

See, those are the same numbers I should be seeing in my dyno (a bit more) but instead I pull a 312? Lol...

Yeah I slowly worked my way up lol. I ordered a direct port kit since the one on my car is maxed out. Yeah I found that very odd with the numbers you made. So how much of a shot were you on when you blew the engine? Just curious. The highest I plan to go with the direct port kit is a 250 shot.

I lifted my heads with just a 125 shot of nitrous. Look into arp head studs and cometic head gaskets. Loving your project btw!

I haven't heard of anyone else having that problem on our engines even when they are pushed further. Was that on a j32a2 engine?

I'm sticking with the stock junk till it blows lol. Thanks a lot wait till I push it even further!!

It was on the j35a4 short block but with j32a2 heads. I blew my heads gaskets and had a loss of compression in cylinders 1-4. Been on the bottle since 2004 though on this engine with a 125 shot.

It's the nitrous. Foxbody's torque is higher than his horsepower, it would only make sense with the same bolts ons and CR placed on a 3.5L build to put out more torque due to its displacement. Off the bottle my numbers looked like everyone else.

My question to you is, what's the CR on the 3.5L builds you're referring to? If they kept the odyssey's pistons, then their CR is lower than mine. Older j35's are a 9.4:1 CR while the newer ones were a 10:1 CR. Mine is 10.6:1

From a CR of 8:1 to 12:1 you can see an average of 4% to 5% increase in torque for every point.

A little update for you guys. I started plumbing the direct port fogger kit. Hopefully I can have it all done within the next week or so and can make over 500+whp and 525+wtq!!!

1fox: what kind of fuel did you use when running the nitrous? Also, did you run a separate tank for the (I'm assuming race) fuel?

He hasn't been on here much lately, but I'm pretty sure he used regular 91/93 and nitrous. Nitrous boosts octane levels so no need for race fuel.

Were you guys tuning the cars or just spraying wet kits to make up for loss of fuel? Im planning on going nitrous already bought the kit just need to install it but still trying to figure out what to get the fuel from.

what pistons are/were tou running in that setup? Been thinking of things to do to my J35A4 in the next few years after manual swap, suspension mods, and bolt ons.
