The Crazy In-Laws Thread

For the past 2 Christmas' my father in law has given me re-gifts and im starting to get really annoyed because I'm almost 10000% positive I just saw my Xmas gift for this year. Let me tell you how he gets these gifts. He plays scratch offs all the time, like he has a problem almost and some of them have second chance prizes. Well last year he found a lottery ticket on the top of the trash outside a convenience store. Well he ended up winning a poker set. Dosent sound bad right? Well he gets it in, shows its off to everyone who has an ear and eyes like it was some great accomplishment. Says its limited edition and came with a plastic watch, a cardboard table top thing that wouldn't cover a 2ft x 2ft card table and some plastic chips that are as thin as a potato chip and a pair of glasses that aren't even gas station rack quality. No one liked it (including myself) which I'm sure he understood from the reactions. So I ended up getting that lovely stuff last Xmas. Super. The year before last he won a shirt and a dominos card from a golf tourney so I got that the year before, the shirt was an XXL and I'm a M kind of guy. Well he has done it once again. He won a circuit of the America's prize pack that he is sold on it being "limited edition" (this guy is a pack rat if that helps you understand who I'm dealing with) and was once again showing it off, basically using all the cheap crap which I'm sure will be regifted to me. So my SIL says "omg why are you showing us Matt's gift already" funny stuff but then it turned into "well even if it was you wouldn't be ungrateful would you?", great now what do I say? I just kind of walked off.
Each year I have gotten him something that he has specifically wanted or needed. I put thought and effort into it but now I have become annoyed and frustrated. Does tht make me ungrateful? I don't know so I've been trying to think of something so gay and so pointless to win to regift to him. I want to show it off first though. Originally I was going to get him a Samsung tablet but F that. I know it not about money or stuff like that but when you get my gift out of the garbage I dont think a tablet is equal. So any ideas on how I can get some swag or cheap prizes? The wifey says he won't get it an think I'm making fun of him but I honestly don't care. Ill just ask him if he is ungrateful ha

Christmas gifts are for kids.
A tablet? For your FIL? Really?

Get him the world's greatest father in law t-shirt and some scratch-offs.
Don't stoop down to his level, in fact make your wifey buy him a gift, it's all her fault anyways, it's her dad! On the second thought, it's all your fault! You married her. Oy the conundrum!!!
Buy him a screwdriver with an intended message lol

Every time he gives you a shitty gift, just think about how you get to nail his daughter.

I would only spend $100+ on my wife, but I'm a cheap ska... ehem, a frugal person.

I actually really like my inlaws. My FIL is a former Commander in the Navy, and was Ops Boss on the Wasp in the early 90s. He makes my wife's life difficult sometimes, but that's what fathers do.
My MIL has a sarcastic sense of humor and is pretty funny. I can talk about things with her that would make most people say .
My wife's four sisters are all cool.

I'm sure most know that my MIL is When she needs to replace something it becomes an obsession....she will research the shit out of it, go to the store and waste everyones time, sometimes buy something only to return it....and then just deal with what she has. My inlaws are extremely well off, so its not for a lack of money....its just lunacy. Drives my FIL insane.
So yesterday I had to fix her fucking old ass carry on suitcase.......It is beat to death and looks like its probably 15 years old at least. So now it has these big metal brackets and machine screws holding the plastic support together for the telescoping handle. I really hope the fucking thing falls apart in the middle of the airport on her.

Between my wife and I, we have 4 carry on, and 2 larger checkable rollaway suitcases that we offered her after she returned the way too small one she bought, still has to use her London Fog POS! Are they even still in business?
