I've got a 14 lb brisket on the grill-e-O. Started the fire at about 9:30 last night, put the meat on at around 11. It's a little after 8:30 so I'm gonna start drinking for breakfast

Making ranch turkey burgers tonight. Went to mayhem fest over the weekend and made steak burgers, we ran out of buns so my buddy made a tripple, that's 3 x 1/3 lb burgers

I had defrosted the ground turkey to take to the show, but it was still half frozen when I was trying to make patties, so it's dinner tonight

Marinated some lemongrass with chicken thighs and breasts...going to throw them on the grill and eat Viet-style salad rolls for supper.

Some of you westerners are going to find this gross but whatevvs. HAHA Theres tripe, intestine and I think a liver or lung. All from a cow, with the homemade spicey/sour dipping sauce.

I usually eat it with rice, but I am cutting down on carbs this week. Too much of anything is bad, so I gotta change it up and balance it.

Kinda piss me off all the young kids arent eating this and sticking to fastfood, wait until they hit 40 and have some serious health problems. this is some good stuff.

I love tripe...esp. in dimsum or in pho. I don't mind intestine depending on how it is prepared.

Gotta have tripe in my pho. Speaking of pho, do you ever make homemade pho? Its alittle different from all the restaurant pho out there (with the ingredient) , but its still a pho and its atleast 5 times better then any pho out there.
I once took it to work, and my mexican coworker ask to try some and he was like "this shit is fucken good ass hell, better then any pho I ever ate". ever since hes been bugging me to bring some. I'm like, "just for the broth, it has to be boiled for 24 hours" you can boil it for 12 hours but it won't be as good. its time consuming.

Try it and let me know how they taste. Ironically my Mom knows how to cook chitlings, but none of my siblings will touch it. She hasn't cooked any in years and doesn't care too, but would cook them for my Dad back in the day.

Ordered 1/8 of a cow, have a few roasts, few steaks, but sadly it was mostly hamburger/ground meat. Going to get very creative with beef in the next few months...

Also, my brother is moving and his wife had a ton of tomato plants growing in pots, so I grabbed 2 pots that had cherry and roma tomatoes growing in them, so I have fresh tomatoes to use now

Yeah, my wife has made it a few times...however, given that we could just head over to my her parents' place to have some, she doesn't make it frequently. And the more stewing/simmering of the broth/bones, the better. My MiL usually has it going on the pot for 48 hours before serving it.

Honestly, the secret ingredient is MSG. Pho without MSG is pretty darn good but add a sprinkle of the "secret ingredient"...holy, does it take it to another tier.

I won't lie.

Pho FTW.

Yeah, but you've probably cut out other bad dietary habits, correct?

And I'm sure you don't eat hamburgers daily either. A lean steak is far more healthier.

Yep, I'm almost completely off caffeine, don't drink coffee or soda any more, I eat more consciously, and drink less beer, etc

Ha...then, for all I care, you could eat a whole darn cow.

IMO, if you don't drench your steaks in butter (a la Ruth's Chris method) and/or salt...I'm completely with ya...GIMME MY COW MEAT, DAMMIT!

I doubt I can ever relinquish caffeine...but, what I drink is green tea with no additives (i.e. cream, sugar).

Does caffeine contribute to weight gain? That's news to me. I'm sure if you drank your caffeinated drinks (i.e. coffee, tea) with no sugar/cream...you'd be fine?

Caffeine doesn't directly, but sugary sodas do, as do sugary syrupy coffees like I was drinking. Plus caffeine is hard on the old ticker

I used to drink a double or tripple espresso every morning, with sugar and syrup galore, then have a soda or 2 for lunch, not good

Okay dude...yeah, your heart probably was going what 23412340473 per second on that?

Good you stopped. I won't profess to be some expert but would like to believe I'm quite healthy...I think if you started up on coffee again but laid off on the heaps of additives (i.e. sugars, creams), you'll be fine with a cup or two a day.

Coffee/tea does have its benefits. As with everything...in moderation.

You could do iced coffee to reduce the acid

I often have 2-3 shots of espresso on weekends a la the Nespresso machine. But, again, no sugar. I may occasionally add a touch of milk and a quarter teaspoon of brown sugar.

But, Ack's got me thinking I should throw some Triple A beef shank into the slow cooker tonight and have some extra tender protein for dinner tomorrow night!
