Rotisserie chicken Anyone?

Just bought the rotisserie last week and this was my first time. All I can say is that it FAR exceeded my expectations.

Next up, Prime Rib.

And you can do that with shrimp, crab, lobster, fish steaks as well...!

(not sure if you're a surf-eater tho)

It's not the same, but you can get Rotisserie Chicken at Costco for $3.99.

I would need those baskets that hold them together.

Not a big seafood guy but fish steaks and Lobster on the BBQ are damn good.

No, its not the same, and their $7.49 up here, $10.99 at Swiss Chalet. I wasn't really expecting it to be as good as it was, figuring a chicken I could get at Swiss Chalet would be better, but that wasn't the case.

And I can get 3 chicken's at Costco for ~$20. Chicken at Costco is good too. Lilydale.

And where's the fun in buying one?

About 75-80 minutes. But a meat thermometer is a must for this. Its recommended you take the chicken off at between 160-180F.

And it was easy. To steal a line from Ron Popeil, I set it and forgot it.

Put the lid on, and checked on it maybe 2 or 3 times. Thats the beauty with charcoal, no flare ups or potential for burning.

Good to know!

Now, I just need to get that pile-of-dirt-for-a-backyard landscaped so that I can pick up a grill and etc. for some much-needed outdoor cooking.

I bought a Showtime rotisserie from Walmart. "Set it and forget it"

I put a 5lb chicken in it and it came out fabulous. I did cook it about 15 minutes longer than their guide to get the skin a little darker. Only chicken bones were left at the end of dinner.

Not bad for $100 +free shipping. I couldn't find anyone else selling it for that price.

I've4 had the same Showtime rotisserie for about 9 years. Still works good as new. I've done at least 100 chickens, roast beef, kabobs, steaks, and roast vegetables. Steamed rice and veggies on the top part too. Planning to get the electric rotisserie motor for my grill when the weather breaks.

This is a pretty cool set up. How much did this run you? And where did you find it?

Impossible.

As soon as I get home that shit gets torn into. Sometimes I'm not able to put all the groceries up before I dig in. I'm always saying to myself just one piece. Ok two pieces. Ok 1/4 of it. It's just so.. good

Maybe once a month I get a Sam's Club chicken for $4.88. The meat just kinda falls apart so I don't cut it into pieces, just kinda pull it apart and eat half it while I'm doing that. I've thought about making it myself or doing a beer can chicken (got the stand as a gift a few years ago) but it costs more for an uncooked chicken... if I'm gonna cook something low and slow I want pork.

This thread is 7 years old BTW Its a Weber BBQ which ran about $399 at the time and the Rott Kit was I believe ~$120.

Still use it at least several times every Summer. Even did a Turkey at Thanksgiving a couple years back.
