Def died a handful of time but was able to beat him finally!! Parrying is big in this game, overall thought the game was amazing.. Metal gear games always have epic cut scenes/cinematics.. Would def love a few more raiden titles!

Finished the game finally the other day (while Little Cha was asleep between meals)...
The last boss...holy [bleep]...was he a PiTA to beat. Very difficult and took several attempts. I downloaded the Jetstream Sam DLC a couple evenings ago and finished it last night. Not bad for $10...just be warned that it does recycle a few places you've been as Raiden...still, getting to use kick@$$ character is pretty good.

Gamefly had this used for $16 shipped so I got in on a copy. Were you guys mostly fancy slashing with the right stick or just spamming the square/A button? On the PS3 the analog sticks are meh and it slowed me down and allowed me to absorb too many hits.

You will notice a red-square marker for you to slice through and if you do it right, it'll allow you power-up by consuming the enemies' energy.

The intro tutorial in the full games is 251251235x better than the demo version. Now I bang out some sick combos and am very good at getting the energy bullseye. I just beat Monsoon. Game is so freaking sick. Boss level music is nuts. I can't stop playing it.

OK beat it on normal. Shorter than MGS4 and way less cutscenes. Still a great game/story and some really cool innovations in gameplay and features. Speaking of gameplay, I think I parried only by luck, didn't use any of the special moves until the last boss, and ninja run like a MF when fighting bosses. Definitely will improve my skill next go around. I'll try out the VR missions and maybe go through on Hard. I'd like to unlock all the weapons and find all the data cards and hidden dudes.

Truth. Luckily I read a good place to spam money so that I can power the hell out of my character. Probably the reason why I beat him. Plus I had to watch some YT videos and read some FAQs. I beat him relatively quick but with help. However ration management in this game is HUGE. You can only carry 5 at a time. I tend to leave them equipped so that I don't die unexpectedly and it's pretty easy to stay alive once you master Zandatsu. However later in the game there will be multiple parts to bosses. So when I fought the final boss I had 0 rations. Luckily I did the very difficult thing to obtain more as I nearly burnt through those too. Without giving away spoilers, maybe save multiple files so that you're not stuck in an uncomfortable position. The game is linear and there's really no backtracking.

Glad you were able to beat him. In my original attempts (without maxing out my abilities), it was at least 20-30 times to no avail. He is probably the hardest boss I ever fought in a video game.

Dammit. I stopped playing for months and now I suck again. I jumped into the Sam DLC first. Regular dudes are easy but machines kick my ass. The first VR mission right before you fight Blade Wolf with the 2 geckos kick my ass. Plus I forgot how to parry. Then after not taking out a single walker for like 2 hours of trying, I went to fight Blade Wolf and he kicked my ass. I tried the whole holding triangle down in the air for the flying charge attack and even You Tubed videos. Fuck this game is frustrating.

And ...I haven't played for awhile and so, suspect playing as the Robo-Dog is going to get my @$$ handed to me. Still, gotta keep pressing in Assassin's Creed IV.

Yeah, gone are the days of the NES where you only have to worry about 2 buttons.
I thought ONE shoulder button was enough...but, nope...it is now common to have 2 per side. Just watch, the PS5 or the Xbox TWO will have have 3 shoulder buttons.
Plus an eye sensor so when you blink, it means to jump or something.

I beat the DLC over the weekend. The Blade Wolf was really quick but I flew through it since it was mostly sneaking and I've mastered that with previous MGS games . The last boss fight was pretty tough but luckily I stockpiled rations. Holy shit if you youtube the pros fighting him. I learned a really cool trick when you parry the super high jump he does which allows you to hide behind broken concrete and get him from behind and stab him right in the chest
The Sam DLC and story were pretty awesome. The Senator wasn't as tough as with Raiden but it was bad ass cutting off his arm at the end lol. I tried the VR missions again because I love the control of this game but they are wayyyyy too hard and I'll get kicked out of my building if I were to continue. Now I'm ready for Ground Zeroes in a few months.

Wasn't there a thread not too long ago about Gamefly? I recall someone saying they're well known for "Sorry, didn't receive the game back, we're gonna charge you for it now"
I know Netflix is kind of iffy depending on your region, too..
