Using SS when on run??
I mistakenly had my CLs in D4 rather than D5 when doing a full throttle run the other day and it felt especially strong and and chirped the tires on the first to second upshift. It only does that when cold (I don't drive aggressively when cold anymore to baby the glass tranny) but this time it was fully warmed up.
Have any of you noted that your cars run faster in D4?? I assume the CL should be run in D5??
Are there any benefits to running SS other than contributing to the coffers of the tranny shops in the area? I am talking straight line runs here and not navigating in and out of the twisties. This is South Florida

I read the manual cause I was bored one day and discovered that D5 means driving in 5 speeds, D4 makes it drive in 4 speeds and so on. So yeah driving in D4 makes the car faster for it pushes the RPM up before shifting to the next gear. I personally only use D4 as a downshifter to accelerate. The benefit is being able to downshift at high speeds without messing up the transmission :3

6mt swapped..smart
Doesn't make anything faster, just eliminates 5th gear.. It will still shift at the same rpm as if the car were in d5. If you really wanted to downshift, why not just put it in SS and do so?
