there is a g35 sedan around my area that is tan color, looks completely stock from outside. i saw him going to get dyno done and thought what a waste till i heard the car on the dyno and saw the numbers. The dyno was limited to 800hp and he hit that limit so was over 800 hp.

Thats a pretty good number for just a tune!
I've beat 2 g35's. One was a 2 door with three guys in it. I pulled out about 2.5 to 3 cars in about a 1/4 mile or so. I was suprised.
The other was a g35 X i think, it was 4 door and awd. He had 5 people in it and there was no competition at all.
Never raced one fair and square though.

loss with G37 coupe... at launch i had the lead but on the 3rd gear at about 65-75 he started to pulling away. i noticed last few days after i did seafoam i lost alot of power at the mid range and engine sounds weird at that rpms range 3.5 - 5.5 k rpms...
it might be imrc but did not check that yet

raced my buddy after work in his 03 style mustang gt manual. from what i remember he has i/h/e and a bored tb.. he also had a passenger with him.
we raced rite from a dig i came upto pull up beside him at the light and right when i got about to stop the light turned green and we both gave it.. i got about few inches ahead of him right away i think he couldnt get traction properley and then the lead stayed the same throughout. he was right beside me the whole time and at about 70mph i stopped it

Very odd. They arent that fast.
Ive had a few Mustangs try racing me lately (2 today even) but I just dont want to be bothered. Its not worth the ticket at the moment.

Oh yes, the CLS is so much better in the corners then all american cars right?
I've test drove the 06 GTO and the CLS has nothing in the performance department on the gto. Nothing. Not even cornering.
The LS2 in the 05 06 gto has a great TQ band. Very broad. TONS of low end grunt. Its very nice to be able to hit the gas and get that surge of power without having to rev to red line.

Not an auto CLS, those handle like shit because of their lack of lsd like the 6mt's have. I think my lowered CLS6 with the rear sway could take a stock GTO in the turns.
The CLS is obviously a heavy porker, and by no means do i think it's the best handling car out there but GTO's are just sloppy on turns....

a GTO can and WILL outhandle a fucking CLS, i can give a damn about having an LSD in my car. its a simple fact. look at the skid pad numbers and im forced to ask if you have even driven a GTO.. im guessin no due to the fact that you said all american cars are pieces of shit.
Need i remind you of the corvette? how about the new 5.0? and the GTO with the 6 litre and the 6 speed? Maybe the SRT8 Charger? shit, even the V6 mustang can outhandle and outrun a cl-s6 that heavily modded.
a goddamn srt-4 can smoke and outhandle a cl-s.
hate to break it to you bro but the cl-s handles like a boat on ice compared to a GTO. and comparing your dropped and swayed CL-s to a stock GTO goes to show how skewed your perspective is. put some sways and a drop on the GTO and even the odds

Nothing to the maint. of the GTO. Parts are cheap. There is no timming belt to change, its a chain. Just change the oil and plugs and you are good to go. Also no valves adjustments needed. I thought it was every bit as comfy as my cls. Granted the CLS might have a better fit and finish, but I'd take the trade off for the performance anyday.
The LS2 v8 has had great reviews, no major problems. And there are a ton of interchangable parts and even more aftermarket for it. I'd love to have one for a DD.

Raced an RSX last night. He got the jump and I just barely nosed him out. I need boost.
Big fucking
Not to mention the GTO isnt like "most" American cars. It has an IRS. It can and will destroy the CL no matter if the road is straight or curvy.

Thats a completely different kind of car. Muscle car (Cobra) vs Sports car (GTO).
With the solid rear axle on the Mustang, the CL might stand a chance in the turns, but the Cobra will demolish the CL on the straights.
Havent seen the handling specs on the Cobra though.

A 6.0 GTO is just a Vette with a back seat.
You could take out your back seat, spare tire, the passenger seat, have a carbon fiber hood and trunk, cold air intake, Headers, cat back exhaust, lighter flywheels, chip, supercharger, low profile tires, and whatever else you can think of and you still won't touch a GTO.
If it weren't for that sorry ass, 80's Trans-Am-like interior, no sunroof and 80's instrumentation cluster, and the fact that Pontiac no longer exists, I would be rocking one today.
I had an encounter with a purple GTO a couple years back going I-95 South towards Fort Lauderdale. Dude had a polished stainless steel exhaust and God knows whatever else stuffed under the hood. I already knew even if the GTO was stock it would have eaten me alive but I was dying to see what his car could do, so I gave him a go at it. We were going into a long right curve when we both got on the accelerator. He walked away--no--he ran away from me worse than that Bentley Continental GT that I messed with a couple years later. I was doing 135mph and at the limit of my tires and suspension into that turn. He was nearly a mile ahead of me and I could still hear his exhaust until he finally decided to shut down.

And my mustang has a Detroit Locker, a 100% fully locking differential, so it must handle like a Ferrari! lol
edit: and btw the 03 Cobra had IRS, not a solid rear axle. They are ok stock, but need stiffer springs/shocks to really handle well. It would still embaress a CL-S6 around a road course. Trust me, I have driven both back to back at Gingerman road course

So please explain how the LSD makes the 6 speed handle better than the automatic? I'm very curious to hear this.

The locker and the CLs LSD are different. The locker does just that, essentially makes the axles one solid shaft. Our LSD has the ability to send a bit more torque to the wheel with more traction.
It helps pull the car through turns better then a standard open diff, but it by no means makes the CL a sports car.

The 99/01 Cobra had IRS also, along with the 00 Cobra R. Other than that all mustangs have been solid rear axle. Yep, even the '11 GT that pulls nearly 1.0g stock and is equal to the M3 around a road course.
And I'm well aware of the difference between a locker and a lsd, I was merely making a point that a differential type has nothing to do with handling. My brother's Altima SE-R with an open diff was significantly faster around the road course than my lsd equipped cl-s. Better brakes + stiffer springs/shocks + less weight will do that.

Couldn't do anything with the Altima SE-R either. I just couldn't believe it--after over a decade of mediocre, bargain basement Altimas they come out with an Altima that was actually FASTER than a Maxima?
So I'm cruisin' to work when this dude in an SE-R is HARD on my bumper. I downshift to 3rd and pull away. Dude catches up but he couldn't pass me. His next attempt we're side by side when he pulls away. A slower car comes up in my lane, so I have to slow down. By the time I'm able to pull around the slower car he's already 6 car lengths away. I began reeling him in and cut his 6 car length lead down to 3.
We're hard left into curve. He dives into the curve so hard his rear end is bottoming out and wiggling. We came to a fork in the highway--he went left and I went right. I never had a solid shot at him but I'm betting if we had open highway he would have only had me by one car.

Driving home last night around 10pm and i notice these HID's behind me literally riding my ass so i slow down and drive the speed limit before i come to a right turn i give my brakes a good excersize with a variating speed stop.
my opening comes and i gun it down the road putting some good space between me and the car that was following all the way to 3rd and i keep getting more distant until the next light when the dude pulls up next to me while im rolling already at 40mph in 4th and asks "do you wanna run?" still salty about losing to the 08 G35 sedan i am ready to take on this coupe hard so....
I reply yes and shift into 2nd along with him and get the jump, he is closer this time but its a steady pull and i put about 3 cars on him to 75.
RED LIGHT
we both stop and the light and he says " i see you all the time and tells me about our mutual friend (his family) so we chat it up and he asks if i wants to go from a standstill -i agree. He has intake, headers, 6 speed, volk oem wheels, exhaust and what smelled like no-cat.
i roll backwards to get my tires off the white line and give him about 1/4 of a car lead before we jump.
revv to 3k and preload the clutch
GREEN
we go and all i hear are tires screeching, im staring at his rear wheel through my window and i finally gain traction and start realing him in.
at the 1-2 shift i close the gap and pull ahead (my IMRC IS CLOSED BTW)
2-3 shift i pull ahead about half a car and continue pulling till about 1-2 car length ahead and shut it down around 5.5k because my left turn is coming up.
feels good to get a nice launch on a RWD car. im positive if my IMRC was open i wouldve put 2-3 cars on him.
it was a pretty nice G and he said his third gear was going bad and something about his clutch after the race so
him: 2005 G35 coupe, drop, intake, exhaust, no cat, optional wheels
me: 99 TL, 6 speed, type-s, no intake, closed IMRC, exhaust, headers, pulley.

Nice kill, i bet he was really disappointed. I know i would be if I lost to a 99 TL. I love how ppl always throw out excuses after they lose to justify themselves to themselves. I wish just once I would see someone get beat and they would say "its my fault i cant drive stick" instead of always blaming it on the vehicle.
