If it's a stock Type S you can beat some older GTI's and a host of rice burners.

A CL premium can beat some old maximas and Lexus SC 300's and GS 300's and some rice burners. Some Toyotas too. Negative on the GTI's unless they are the models from the mid 80's........

Pulled hard on a type r swapped del sol ( we didn't really race)
Beat a h22 eg civic
cobalt ss
6th gen accord

This car surprisingly moves and i beat a host of other little hondas and assorted ricers around town lol

dont be frowning mang, no worries, you can make it faster very easily.

1st- cat back exhaust.
2nd- s.i.r. or c.a.i.
3rd- unorthadox pulleys.
4th- ignition coils.

you do just this and you will be close to cl-s range.

and there is so much more you could seriously do,..

headers & cam's with the other mods would put you at a realistic 270 - 280 engine h.p. maybe more,.. the cl-s has 260, you have 225

now if you put the girl on a diet
carbon fiber hood & trunk, lighter sport seats to name a few,

you would have a fast cl. lost of money but fast. you could do 1 - 4 for $1500. - $2000 depending on if you do some work ie: s.i.r., pulleys, coil.

cam's cost me $700 to buy and $500 to get installed.

carbon stuff is $600 each and seats and brackets will run bout $1000. if you install.

it all depends on what you want and expect from your beautiful acura.

i got the 1st gen. 3.0 mildly done and lightened, im not expecting 13 second qtm's but i beat lots of things. id put mine at low 15's maybe into the 14's

if you do the j32 you should expect low 14's

If its stock, maybe. If its got bolt ons, I doubt it.

You could do a lot to make your car faster as mentioned by pitbullLOVER, but along with that has to be the experience fo the driver. Your car now, stock could probably beat more than what you think, but decrease that number if you as a driver aren't that experienced.

My personal preference is a manual since you do have more control than with an automatic.

Your car could be built, as built as it can get, street legally that is, but could eat dirt if you the driver don't know how to drive it to it's fullest potential.

Lol @ the bold. H22 Civics aren't slow and a B18c5 swapped Del Sol is about the same.

OP, your car is probably a mid-low 15 sec car at best in the 1/4 around 92-93mph. It's not a very fast car, but you can still have some fun with it. To answer your question(s), the new Si should beat you even stock with a competent driver. The newer GTI's will definitely walk you as well. There's not much a 10 year old, horrible geared, 3400lb automatic 220hp Acura V6 can beat...

i aint callin b.s. yet, the drivers could have been shit, maby they were bagged an shit, the matter at hand it that yes these cars can beat lotsa stuff, id say cobalt ss's are the funnest to race, these cl's stock are by no means FAST though they are QUICK and there is a big differancs. a fast car pulls low 13 and down, a quick car runs high 14's to bout .... 16 then after that its a slow car. again these j motors have potential. one day when my cl was stock and i just got it with my bro in the passenger seat i was side by side with a s2000 for 3 gears and most of 4th, i dont think by any means if we raced 10 times i could beat him once but that race i hung in there so..........

my friend also has a 300zx and a 07 mazda 6, and i feel like id get slapped.
-just looking for some feedback, i havent been able to get to a track to really see what this car can do, so im hoping to get any info from anyone who has/can.

aging some variables come in to play driver being the biggest but your car joshydee is an automatic and autos eat 30hp and dont shift as clean (as some1 that really knows how to shift a standard) but to answer your questions... going on #'s and my 2 cents,

OUT OF 10 RACES-
-you vs a none turbo auto 300zx = good f-ing race, youd win 1/2
-you vs a turbo auto = youd get beat but if the driver sucked and the car was tired you might win 2
-you vs. a none turbo standatd = good f-ing race, youd win 2-4
-you vs. a turbo standard = crushing defeats that make your car seem slow, youd win 0
-you vs a auto mazda 6 = youd win, some convincingly, 9-10
-you vs a standard mazda 6 = good race, you should win majority, would come down to driver, 4-8 depending...

again these are just some 3's for yah cause you are lookin and nobody is givin so,.. i dont claim to have owned a 300zx or mazda 6 and am only going by #'s and my car historical knowlage,lol.

^ Since when is a 15-16 sec car quick? Lol. Maybe back in 1995. "Quick" is all relative I guess. I considering 'quick' anything 14.0 and under. Some people consider 14.0 slow. Fast is really anything under 12.5 to me. It's all relative though.

A Cobalt SS S/C will definitely beat a 3.2 CL. You may have ran the non-supercharged version. The CL is definitely a nice car though!

just throwing something out there for the o.p. to go on, never said these were numbers decided appon by einstein or enything. as for 12 second cars,... we are in the real world here all cars that are purchased by the majority of people are stock and run 15-18 sec's, these 12 second cars you speak of... WELL FUCK YEAH 12 SEC'S IS FAST BUT THIS ISNT 2 FAST 2 FURIOUSE HERE ITS REAL WORLD!!! unless people are coc dealers or got a really good job they dont have 12 second cars, there are very few 12 second cars, seeing as the o.p. lives in this real world with a stock cl and dosent live in 2 fast world with nitrous spray out the hood n dragon graphic i was being realistic for him/her but you wanted to go to wizard land so......

as for the cobalts, i personally with my slow ass cl,auto beat 1 cobalt ss 2wice and a completly different one 1nce (hence the signature below) not saying my car is quick but i happened. cobalts are nice and quick and im sure there are plenty 'o' stockers that would crush me, maby he was a bad driver, maby the baby seat in the back weighed hiim down but it happened, wirten into history. they have 205hp, the only thing keeping them in contention is the 5 speed/m, if my cl was 5 speed/m not 4 auto id be wistling dixie all the way to the flag.

IF what you came in here to slam this dudes car and give him a hard time you are being both. i said for the MAJORITY OF PEOPLE that make $12 per hour with kids and bills or going to school they CAN NOT AFFORD 12 second cars and when you drive to work or school of what ever it is you do the %age of 12 second cars you pass is single didgit, when you go out on the week end and race around you may encounter a higher %age but most there are 13.6 and higher cars, THE REALITY OF WHAT IT TAKES TO GET A CAR TO 12 FING SECONDS WHETHER YOU DO IT YOURSELF OR BUY IT THAT WAY MEANS THERE ARE VERY FEW 12 SECOND CARS FOR THE MAJORITY OF US. most people me included think ..(and here comes what i said) ***cars that run LOW 13 AND DOWN ( that covers 12 second cars cause 12 is lower than 13) ARE FAST, 14 and up is QUICK!!! big differance between the two. now as for the amount of 12 sec. cars heres a scientific test YOU CAN DO, walk in to ALL the car dealerships and say "i want a 12 second car" you will produce but the ratio is like 1 12 second car for every 10 - 12 other modles they have, now hands up, how many purchase said 12 second cars,.... maby 5%, most get a car that runs very high 14's, dump some money in them and they gots a 14.1 er some sti's, stangs, vets obviously better but NOT 12 SEC. so i still claim if you live in a place that isnt sadi arabia or u.a.e. and the majoriyt of cars are 12 second cars the yes, yes wizzard land sir.
