I haven't pulled the cover off again yet to see if it is flush with the top or sticking out a little bit. It definitely is down in from the top lid for sure a good bit so thinking it is a flush break from below. Going to order myself a 1/4in tq wrench as well for the future along with everything else.

Just need to run to sears if I can't find one of those screw extractors you posted at Lowe's or Home Depot. Amazon really doesn't even seem to carry any.

False. After going black, there is a possibility of going orange.

So after some research I agree it looks like the SMC dual catch can is the best setup. Now the only issue is the fact they are listed as made to order and say they take 8-12 weeks. I don't have that as my build is being done either next week or the week after. So I guess it is back to figuring out which is the second best alternative.

I agree. I sent them an email just waiting to hear back. Hoping it is just something standard they have listed on the site and keep a couple in stock. But 8-12 weeks is what is says on their website.

If I can get one I plan to follow this install. It is really clean. Airaid + Saikou Michi Dual Catch Can Install Even with the easy open valves he installed on the cans I would love to find a way to install something where I don't even have to remove the top of the intake and the fitler to get to.

It sounds like a lot of these guys are emptying theirs every 1000 miles. If I need to do that I will be emptying it 20-25 times a year. I am hoping that I can empty it every 5-10k miles when I do oil changes. Right now I do oil changes every 10k with Mobile1 HighPerf High Mileage. With the new mods and higher boost I might stick with the same oil but switch to doing it every 5k miles.

Also anyone that has been doing their own reading on higher boost setups read anything bad about using a 50mm idler pulley?

if you can't wait for the SM, then i'd go Weapon X... they make a great dual setup as well that looks really stealth... it also comes with the drain so you never have to worry about accessing it from the top...

that idler is rated to just over 10k rpm... so depending on the size of your upper/lower pulley, the ratio will probably spin if past its max rating... if that is the case you need to step it up to a 70mm idler... but you can get away with the 50mm and just swap out the bearings once they go... it's all going to depend how much more boost you plan on throwing at the car and what pulley size you plan on going with...

they make a relo bracket with the 70mm i think...

I will be running a 2.5 upper and a 9.1 lower. Not sure what that will put me at for total. Not sure how to do the calculations. I assume somewhere there are formulas for that stuff?

Got an email back from Ben at WeaponX and they have SMC cans in stock actually right now so going to be ordering one of those. For the time being I will have to use the preconfigured drain setup of them but I am going to try and build off the drain setup within that install thread I posted down the road. Just need to get it installed and working before the new tune is done. The shop said it can have an affect on the tune a little bit.

Yeah I was going to ask.. what's the stock diameter?.. Definitely don't want to go too small.

This is exactly how I'd do it.. what lower are you planning on using? Is it one of those billet lowers like Metco. I always wondered how they held up.

It is the billet one from Metco yeah. I figured I would do pulleys now and a lot of the coiling stuff as well. That will set me up later down the road for just giving everything more air by doing a larger intake, throttle body, port the snout, and do headers.

I don't know when that will be though or if I will be even able to cause I can't afford to make the car uncontrollable to not be a DD in sun, rain, and snow.

your bank account is probably watching the chappelle show's skit "when keeping it real, goes wrong".

Not only my bank account but also my head as I never planned to go this quick with mods. Not that I can't it just wasn't in the plans. Excited though and definitely hope it is a beast. Its killing me waiting to know if the parts will all come in time to have the work done next week or if I will have to wait till the week after. Hate that I am not able to do the work on my own either but didn't want to have to have it towed to get the tune afterwards. My previous statements of not being able to break the tires loose should no longer apply after all this too.

J (RS) has a point, all this modding +power adders.. still haven't gotten that bitch sideways (into a unicorn).
I will say though, what you have planned is still very DD. I think you could DD 800 whp.

I can't find the link, but I think GM rated the 6L90e trans to 800 hp in a truck application. Shiett..
There are some guys putting down some epic digs with over 700 whp on it unmodified, so DD the shit out of it.

Anyways.. if fucking Larry Larson daily's his +2000, +3000 hp monsters, you guys are just being pussies

Well then I should be fine. I don't really want to go more than 700whp and even that I really am not sure about. Maybe it is just this area but I have had several people in Hellcats want to go to Mexico and I refuse to. I really want to be able to go to Mexico sometime as the victor. Just not when it is wet out. I think 650 should probably even make that capable. Getting to 700 I would only do cause it just sounds so crazy and would be double the HP output of the TSX.
