Depends on which version of the Q50. The new one will have the old steering back...so, that's a huge plus IMO because the G37 is a fun, fun car.

Tougher choice than I thought it'd be. Probably the Q50 since it's more performance oriented and the S60 looks a little putzy without the R-Design kit.

There's a 2015.5 Volvo S60. As a rule, I don't really like driving small engined turbo cars. The turbo lag is too annoying for my driving style.
The Volvo T6 engine comes with a 2.0 that is turbosupercharged. Sounds like a neat concept that might be useful. However I understand it only comes in FWD.
There's also a T6-R that comes with a 3.0 turbo and AWD. But I would want the turbosupercharged unit in AWD. That sounds like a great combination.
I had a 370Z and I have family that has a Q50S so I have quite a bit of experience with that setup. The VQ37VHR engine is a revver and the 7 speed auto Nissan uses is a really slick unit. It may be an automatic with torque converter but it shifts and feels like 90% of a dual clutch unit. Very impressive. My relatives have had some problems with the Q50S interface though. It locked up on them at least once and they had to take it back to the dealer for some kind of update/reflash.

Very rarely do I come across a hangup in the Q50s at work. But all it takes is a reboot and everything is well again. I'd be scared of Volvo maintenance whereas the Q50 is pretty much mechanically sound and won't require so much. I feel like there isn't nearly as much tech in an S60 as you can get in a loaded Q50 either. Loaded up Q50S is about 54k sticker, add 2k more for a hybrid.

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
The S60 can be had with a 325HP AWD cofiguration (T6), but the Q looks so much nicer, and the VQ engines have been sound for a long time without turbos.
That being said, the Polestar version would make this a real competition, but I think it would cost more.

I think the S60 has a lot of potential
Certainly the Polestar is a hot car but even a T6 Drive-E with the Sport package is a good looking car. Volvo's made a big leap since Ford sold them and I think Cherry is really putting a lot of money into Volvo to be successful. That includes assembly quality.

most reviews on polestar setups result in this: polestar falls very shy of the premium cost, however, it is a sustainable line for volvo because there are die hard niche swede-lovers that will do whatever it takes to get it.
anyway, between those two, i would go with the S60. that said, both seem like a huge letdown considering the deals being offered on the Lexus GS. ive looked at 528, Genesis, TLX, Q50, S60, etc, etc, and for some reason the road always ends with a GS F-Sport. The MSRP deduction and leasing programs are relatively unbeatable. its in the $400s/mo range, which makes the idea of getting a smaller, less luxurious S60/Q50 seem idiotic.
