She said yes to the ring, not to you
so do the smart thing, steal the ring back, pawn it, and buy new turbos!

No, but you got it right by keeping the wedding small. Shiiiet I've met too many people that drop 40-100k on a wedding. For one day.
Let that sink in for a second. Spending 100k for just one day, that you barely get to enjoy because you're so busy chatting with everyone and taking pics, and barely eating and heavily drinking and...
But then again, you do live in California and I've heard that everyone has Floyd Mayweather money down there. Lucky bastards.

My lady thought it was "so sweet" that I bought the ring before the S4 , she had a little resentment before I clarified that little detail

T, I did a pretty awesome slideshow for my wedding. If you want some help with doing yours, hit me up. I'll do it in exchange for a ride in the eth fo next time I'm in SD (provided it doesn't break down).

Looks awesome! Did you DIY it or get it done?
I wish I would have done a small/cheap wedding. Ours was ~$20k and that was doing many things on the cheap while trying to make it appear not cheap, largest cost was really the number of people. Biggest thing we splurged on was a photographer because that's the only thing that lasts forever.

Thanks Sammers! ETH FO is running perfect right now with no CELs or issues ... better hurry while it's still working

Love the roof bro!!! I've been thinking about doing the same on the Charger. Looks so good on the blue.
And big congrats on the engagement! Funny when you mentioned the turbo is going on before the wedding. Right before I proposed to my wife I had bought a car. All her co-workers were like he's driving around in your ring lol. Little did they know I already had it purchased and was waited no for a certain special date. Gotta get them broken into the car mod finances early on in the marriage!

And agreed. I told her from the get go that I have this ... problem ... that requires a lot of her patience & a lot money from me. Overall, she's cool with it and supports my passion .. doesn't quite understand it just yet .

Today was pretty good fun, I went to Cars & Coffee between my car group and had the chance to run a Stage 1 Ecoboost Mustang from a 5mph roll. I was surprised, he was no more than a car length ahead from 1st - 4th.
Despite just having a little tune & exhaust, I am still pretty happy with the performance considering his Mustang has roughly 270ish WHP & 350ish wtq.

Yup, it's 50 pounds heavier than my car ...
Parts of me wish I had the early years of the B5, it's about 200 pounds lighter than the 2001.5

I'm taking a page out of Steven Bell's book and ordered some carbon fiber roof trip strips to compliment the black roof. Pics will be posted as soon as it's installed.
Side note ... it's crazy to think I've already put 8000 miles on the ETH FO since June

Beautiful ride!! can't believe I didn't see this thread before. Huge sucker for Nogaro, but then again, who isn't??
Absolutely. Got an E39 540 a few months before getting engaged, and definitely had my then GF, and my future-in laws scratdhing their heads, but I did produce a ring about a 6 mths later. After getting married, wifey tried to box me out of the garage a few times. Needless to say I would come home from work, take her car out, and put mine in. Had to shut that down quick, and teach her those things early!!! Fast forward a few years, and she didn't bat an eye when I secured the weekend ride right before the first kid.

Thank you; she's my baby. Just finally got her back from a full coilover install along with a carbon clean (stupid direct injection) and some other goodies. She's not my DD, and I have no plans to replace her in the near future; makes me smile every time I drive her. If Nogaro was an option though..........

Tempting, but I love my B7......Although I have to say yours definitely seems like a great find in excellent condition. Can't believe it was still on the original turbos when you found her.

The car having the original turbos & clutch was actually one of the bigger selling points. Sure, the turbos could fail at any moment since they're over 100,000+, but the fact they've made it this long shows the car wasn't beat 24/7 (Car has been tuned for 40,000mi)
Once all parts are collected, I'm hoping 2017 will be the year where the motor comes out and all the magic happens.
If you want more power ... maybe Stage 2 is in order?

Do you have a build / update thread at all?

No build thread, but I've got a few mods; JHM Downpipes, exhaust, and IM spacers, APR tune, KW V3 coilovers, 034 rear sways, tranny, and diff mounts, Carbotech pads with Stoptech Aerohat rotors, and 20" RS5 Titan Rotor wheels, RS6 flatbottom steering wheel, and a few more miscellaneous things. At this point, the build seems to be over , so nothing really to document.
Looking forward to yours though.

My transmission / differential fluid didn't come on time, but I managed to knock a few things out today.
The first thing I wanted to tackle was my suspension, specifically improving the ride quality. I was running roughly a 1" gap all around which is within their specifications. Maybe I'm getting older, but I thought the ride was borderline unacceptable. Super bouncy in the front, almost felt as though the front of my car was on pogo sticks
I took out the front shocks one by one and examined it piece by piece, I didn't find any issues so I just decided to raise it up another .75". Ride quality is so much better, it's firm but at least it has some form of dampening.
New ride height:
Enough to clear RaceRamps (don't mind the dirty garage )
Wiped down engine bay:
Once I got through the suspension, I washed it and detailed the interior along with an oil change with Lubro-Moly 5W40 & MANN oil filter.
Feels nice having a comfortable car again.
