Timing Belt Question: Mileage VS. Age
Ok guys so recently I purchased a 2001 Accord with just 87K miles one owner and I was wondering if I should replace the timing belt?

You will get different opinions..there are some factors involved but in your case, you are double the time interval (14yrs) and almost at the required miles anyways so the answer would be yes (water pump and other belts tensioners too)

Age is FAR worse than miles on rubber. Id rather drive a round a car with a timing belt with 300k miles on it and 3 years old than a 13 year old timing belt with 30k miles

OP should definitely change the belt for peace of mind.
Out of curiosity I looked at the interval for the last t-belt change on my Legend. I put 91,006 miles on it in 2 years. (May 2010 - May 2012). Prob could have run it quite a bit longer!

I ran around 200k+ (about 4 - 4.5 yr intervals) on all the belts on my TL so far. (600k miles)
