Thanks! If you're talking about the engine cowling, I think it was around $350 for the Hydro Carbon Fiber engine cowling.

Yea, I was actually kind of bummed, thinking I was really "done" with the car.

You're probably right.....she knows the truth anyway. I'm always looking for ways to "improve on perfection".

Dude, I don't know about that....I read too many bad stories. I'm more about "bolt-on" engine mods than anything else.....

By the way, the shift knob is real carbon fiber, not the Hydro stuff.

The shifter knob came in, but it was wrong...it was a gloss finish. I need a matte finish. It will now be another month.

Why don't you want shiny?
Seems like over time and wear from your hand it'll end up getting glossy in some spots anyway.

^^ All of the interior Carbon Fiber pieces are matte finish. So the glossy shifter would look out of place.

OK, I'm looking for input from you guys....I'm reconsidering headers-here's the story.

Long tube headers require a tune, which voids the warranty. I purchased an extended service policy for the Stingray.

However, American Racing makes short tube and mid-length headers which do NOT require a tune! I've consulted with a master technician for GM who suggest not getting them...too much question about what the American Racing headers will actually do for the car.

So this is where you boys come in and offer input and suggestions......thanks in advance.

I personally wouldn't get headers, even shorties, unless you plan on getting a tune. Not only will you see minimal gains without a tune, but you'll likely get some knock or run lean and and over time that can cause issues.

Car's fast af. Why risk voiding the warranty of such an expensive car for minimal gains? It's a no brainer.

Buy me coilovers instead

I wouldn't go for them yet. Enjoy the car for what it is and do the engine work once the warranty is up.

American Racing like the ones that make those really badass wheels for your roadrunner that they sell at sears?
Fuck no, Steven...
no void warranty...no need for more power. Stick to what you know and love, slapping emblems and cf on the car.

I agree Tyler....I'm a little over 500 horsepower now (depending on who you believe for added HP in the CAI), so I'm good.

I've got the customized badge I've been wanting!

I acquired the blank badge, but didn't know where to get it customized. I went to VetteFX.com and Sean had a lot of problems with it, but the badge turned out nicely.

Just a little customizing that makes the car stand out....

If you were going to go this route, I would suggest going all out and purchasing a full exhaust with the headers to compensate the tune. Potentially question yourself though, if you're after sound or performance because they vary a little bit; Texas Speed headers are cheaper than most & have some noted fitment issues, but they claim to produce more power/torque than anyone else. ARH Long tubes along with Kooks though, remain the ATLP/RV-6 for headers, so you can't go wrong with either.

If warranty work is an issue, then I would just hold off and look at some exhaust options. Otherwise, headers & a tune is a slippery slope that leads to this:

Steven, it looks like the lettering on the badge is crooked, I hope that is just the camera angle. wait till you are out of warranty and then do all the engine stuff.

^^^ Yes, you are actually correct. The lettering isn't perfect (it was difficult for his machine to cut and then apply to the tiny badge), but still looks great.

Thanks for your input about the exhaust tips, guys.

......better than this one?

Originally, I ordered the 2nd one pictured. Well, it came in with a gloss finish....I have a matte finish. So it had to be sent back to be recoated. But, when it came back in 30 days later, it have the shift pattern done in Carbon Fiber too. I tried to take it off and swap it out with my OEM shift knob, but I couldn't get it off. Plus, I didn't want to screw up the Carbon Fiber trying to get the shift pattern off. So I'm "liking" this design and getting used to it.
