Steven's C7 Corvette - More Carbon Updates & the ultimate wall art! (12-20-20)
I've been wanting a 2nd car....a 2 seat sports car with power! I've held off purchasing anything until I saw this car. It was first introduced in January 2013. It finally came out 3 weeks ago.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on this one. Yes, it's pushed my Type S out of the garage. But wow.....
I brought this home on this Tuesday, October 15th. It's 4 days old to me.....
[
This is a Torch Red 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray (as if you didn't know.....). It is a Z51/3LT with dual mode exhaust, magnetic ride control, 460 horsepower beast! The interior is as good as any European Exotic on the market, which has always been the knock on the Corvette. The low-end torque is simply amazing. You've always got power!
LOVE.....the chrome wheels with the red Brembos on all corners.
As you can see, I've already added a few aesthetic pieces. Hell, the engine doesn't need anything!
Another mod-the car comes with door sills that say "Corvette". I had the "Stingray" sill installed.
Gentlemen, trust me when I say that this car is a game-changer! I've driven the Cayman S and did not have half the fun I have driving this. This car is very sexy. I'm still pinching myself..........

HUGE UPDATES FoR YOU GUYS!P
Hi guys!
I hope you're all doing well. I've been continuously recuperating from my open heart surgery on January 7th....so it's been 180 days now! I feel great and getting back to normal.
BIG UPDATES.....
I've been furloughed from my day job, so I decided to try and make a go of it myself and "quit my day job". I started a Corvette podcast! There is NO content via podcast on Corvette. There is plenty of YouTube content, lots of email and e-newsletter content. But none on podcast. And podcasts are HUGE right now. I'm using my radio name on the podcast to keep things consistent. Last month marked the start of my 43rd year on the radio here in KC.
So please take a listen to CORVETTE TODAY, the podcast. I release a new episode every Monday!

MODS AND UPDATES:
First, more Carbon Fiber! First, the windshield wiper arms....
Next, I've added Carbon Fiber to the trim piece between the door sill and the seat. Luckily, I don't see any more exposed black plastic anywhere now....
A new Glamour Shot!
Finally, my wife and I bought a house in December here in Kansas City. But the 3 car garage was not finished....AT ALL. So now the garage walls are painted white. The wood trim that connects the vertical concrete and the drywall is painted Torch Red-same as the Corvette! Plus, I had the garage floor done by a company called ETEK. It's 4 times stronger than epoxy and comes with a 15 year warranty. I think you'll like the results!

Got to ride in it yesterday and it is a BEAST! I loved the exhaust note and the drop down nav screen
We are already trying to talk him into lowering it, we will slowly wear his ass down and he will do it.
Steve, this is the stuff you want before you put that coating on.

Let me know if you need me to come over and help you get it squared away.

no rolex, no cougs, no care
Congrats man! I have mentioned this on the forum before but I never liked the 'vette until I drove an ex gf's Z06 and was instantly addicted to the power. Up to third you could light up tires with just a push of the gas and it was almost impossible to get it unstuck from the road. Plus the lowness and mean, loud exhaust (and it was stock exhaust) made me want one.
The new styling interior wise is enough for me to make it an option and the exterior looks equally as good. I have seen a few in the wild and for a brief second I think F Car.
ENJOY

It was a perfect day in Kansas City today-sunny and 68 degrees. I got some pictures with the Canon for you:
It got it's first fill-up today....
And yea, I got the only filling station on a slant.....
Took it over to a close friend's house today.
It was warm enough to take the top off (for the first time!). Took her to the Country Club Plaza, which is the premier shopping district in Kansas City. It's a beautiful, Spanish-style outdoor place to shop!

I love the details. Hard to throw so many details on the car and have them become a one piece and look good
Front, rear, sides are just pulling attention. Amazing
Where did the roof go?
Looks good as it is with the roof on

MEKO, the roof is 15 pounds of carbon fiber. It's one piece-there are 2 clips next to the windshield and one in the back. It pops off and clips down in the trunk/hatch. You close the hatch and go!
It does not block the vision in the rearview mirror at all.
Sarlacc-yes, you are correct....just for pics.

I think you picked the best exterior combination for the car. I've been on & off about the design & rear, but I think Torch Red is where this car's design really shines. Congrats.
How's the 7-speed manual?

Thanks guys! LOVE the 7-Speed transmission. I've driven a Cayman S twice-just to have something to compare things to (knowing that Porsche is the best driver's car on the market today).
Without any hesitation-I would put this Corvette against any Porsche on the market. Or any European Exotic, for that matter. There is SO much low end torque. Plus, on the road, the car is perfect on the road. Porsche would blush. I just read my Road & Track last week that put the Stingray against a 911. #1 was Corvette!
Plus, talking about pitting it against anything else, the interior is absolutely gorgeous too. I challenge you to find any Ferrari or Porsche with a better interior......or exhaust note!
And Rick, I agree-the Torch Red is SO striking, especially with the chrome wheels.
