East Bay is nice. I've only driven through Oakland on the 880 I think. I've never stopped there.

I'd honestly be happy where ever they put me for the first year. After that, I bid for my top three choices which will probably be along the central coast.

CHP looks at your vehicle for violations? Interesting, you learn something new every day.

That's what the lead recruiter/background investigator said during orientation. He pointed out a "murdered out" Challeneger and made an example out of it.

He said no tint of any kind whatsoever.

But I think that's bull. I'm leaving the rear. I didn't pay 300 less than a year ago and then take it all off.

That's rough. When I went through backgrounds all I did was give them a copy of my registration and insurance for both of my cars to validate they were current and that was it.

I slapped on my front plate yesterday before my drive to SF. On the way home, I hear a clunk, and felt a bump, so I pulled off in Dublin, and thankfully, it was still there.

Shits already driving me nuts

If by Golden Gate, you mean the CHP, no.

This was a quick leisure day trip.

So what's next PHQ then backgrounds? Once you pass backgrounds then panel interview?

My buddy just interviewed. He thinks he got DQ'ed and will need to reapply during the next phase.

He said he couldn't talk about it. All he said was that it was a total mind fuck

Oh and I feel your pain on backing into stuff with a backup camera. I've done it twice now. First time was the dog kennel and the most recent was a step stool. Also that 526 mile range is NUTS. The most I've seen on my car is 355 but I do a lot of city driving so it's usually right around 300-310 when I fill up but I've got a long trip planned in a month or so and I'd love to see 400+.

The range drops once I get moving. Best I've done with mixed driving is 430 miles. I've yet to go on a long, all highway trip

Wow yet another car mishap. You need some kind of intervention sir.

Good luck on your oral interview. I bowed out right before taking mine because I found a job in my major. I was nervous about it too lol.

Bryan needs a driver or a bicycle. He will probably end up becoming a better driver after he drives the crown Vic for a while.

Just did a quick 80% highway trip with hills. Averaged 36.7 with a distance of 380 miles.i was 15 to empty.

Oh, and I think that cart may have hit the passenger door and rolled to the back of the car.theres a quarter sized dent that a friend had pointed out.

I'll really hit the 20k/year mark no problem. 4/30 will be a year with the car.

Oh, and I hit 41.6 mpg on the way home from the coast today. It was a 155 mile drive and I still have a range of 370ish. I was doing 10-15 over the whole time except when traffic slowed to 55

But hey, that's why I bought a Honda. So I don't have to worry about little shit. Once I get on with CHP, this will be the primary commuter car.

If you really wanted to, you could probably get that fixed for pretty cheap. PDR.
