Okay, I have a few minutes now...
well, I will tell you guys. It feels like a fkng tank. Which is what I wanted. I solid Cadillac that drives like one.
Now, that said...
The car is fucking fast. It really is. I mean, if you've been in a 10 second car...it's all relative and it's not that fast, but it's the fastest I've owned. It'll feel more worthwhile getting 15mpg in this thing than the city mileage I get in my S2000 though
Steering is tight...has a decently heavy feel to it...there are more adjustments and gadgets than I know what to do with.
Sound system is perfect...it needs nothing, really but I will probably find a home for that JL just to give it a little more depth (one does not wagon without a real sub).
Seats...well, best of the best so you always want the recaro's right? Which kinda makes you feel like if you "settle" for the stock option, they are a piece of shit. Not the case at all...they're well constructed, hold you in very well without pinching those pesky love handles...and look VERY high end with the suede inserts. My steering wheel/shifter are leather and not the alcantara, but from what I've read about upkeep, that might not be bad. It's not too expensive to add that down the line if I decide to.
Wheels are straight sexy and from factory she has a nice track and stance...but of course, I'll eibach and keep the magneride intact along with probably just some rear spacers. I like that wider rear look anyway. Wheel are rashed here and there so I may have them redone in a bright silver powder, or find out how much it would cost to sand and buff em back to perfection. Shoot, if that's the case, I might tape up and tackle that myself. They have some Michelin PS tires on there with plenty of chunk left. And that car needs it...I can't imagine some Sunny or Nexens on there with a 8000 treadware rating...slip and slide.
Braking utilizes all 20 pistons to bring this behemoth to a stop, especially when you get into her with only a quart mile to your turn and realize it already hit 85mph
I was very afraid of feeling like I got a smaller version of my wife's car...but alas...it's not...the extra cost of this vehicle comes across in the fit and finish as well...it feels quality, to me...some say the interior panels are dated, but in my opinion...it's a classic look and I love that. An homage to cars before they were facebook on autonomous wheels.
Transmission...well, this is probably the hardest time I had dealing with...because for so long I've preached manual. I have had almost nothing but manuals for 20 years...but in the end, my wife being able to drive it if we go somewhere cool in it and the craft beers get the best of me...being able to relax when I hit a patch of red lights...the ability to just drive and keep both hands on the wheel and not focus on smooth shifting (and that redline comes FAST in this car)...the fact that my 2 manual heros (mom and dad) both drive autos now....all led me to be okay with it. I don't need both my cars to be manuals...as long as the S2000 is there to get that feeling out of my system. Damn thing is a polar opposite of the V and it'll feel good to have each one define the qualities in the other.
Big thanks and " from the back" to JB and CCC for all their advice and answering questions. A big thanks to Majoboner as well, for finding the actual listing before I saw it...and also for making me realize that I needed to stop being car color racist. He made me realize that I do, in fact, love a black car. Nothing quite like it when it's clean and waxed although it does require a bit more effort to keep it that way. I think it's been established that I'm not lazy.
I look forward to enjoying this car...it's a grown up car that you can still have some fun in. They have stellar lines and I look forward to seeing where light modding takes me.
EDIT:

As far as the spacers go I would do the same all around to keep the same overall tracking the car came with just making it a little wider.

Whoa!! I for one had no idea this was coming. Thought you were all happy with your new TL.
Congrats!! That looks like a fantastic beast of a car to have. You went from having one of the perfect Honda garages to one of the perfect garages period. Enjoy!

Thanks guys...:gheyhug:
for real...I appreciate the sentiment.
Jason, I'll be ordering that lip tonight. Waiting to hear back from DC about those mats but I know he's not on here all the time. I'm definitely doing that...I HATE tracking dirt into the regular mats.

Well too bad cause I love you, bro.
Jason, right you are...right you are. That's gonna happen and you'll be able to let me be your guinea pig
Aman, I almost didn't either! Hahaha....it all happened kinda fast...strike while iron is hot, fuck it...get good enough price to feel like your'e not stuck with it. So far, so good.
 right you are...but if feels so fine with me to get 15MPG in something that deserves it. I drive 10 miles per day, all city. I'm destined for shitty ass gas mileage. but I only fill up once every 3 weeks. If that turns out to be 2 weeks for this power. I'm all for it!
You're not the first person that caught that. I should have made my screen name something different and clever like "Inspector dickgag" or something on CTSVpwnerz.
nudes?
the V leaves us all satisfied!
G'damn right...right Jason
Left lane is only for passing
oh wait...
Thanks bro!
Big time boom.
It's not copywritten yet...
thanks again, Joe...you've tolerated a lot of tire kicking and opinion asking and being a little bitch and eventually pretending to be a man long enough to buy one.
I genuinely appreciate it.
Thanks!
bro...pics or GTFO. I'm serious. If you wanna do it via PM, I'll post to PB and share here. Can't wait!
Glad to hear so far you love everything about it. It is definitely a very unique specimen for all the different things it brings together.

Okay, absolutely NO modding lasted a day...
PM to Junior'sBean, an order for wiper inserts, new front fascia lower bumper thingy later...
and some sweet LED's that match the reverse LED for the license plate area...they needed the upgrade and I'd already found some high end ones for the blue TL's that came in a set of 10. Had 6 left.

Also, you need tints bro.....make sure to get the good tints though.... Unless you wanna ride with no tint so a muthafudda know its you.
Then you know what you have to do after that...
Throw sum Ds on dat bitch!!!
Won't get pulled over in my new V....

If you find you want something brighter there are these. They are insane bright. Light up the entire ground behind you as well. Also when you put up the tailgate a bit you can use them as work lights. 18 LEDs per housing.

I am going to agree with everyone else. Tint is definitely needed. Since Florida maybe some 25% even.

Wait... what? How did I miss this thread?
Shiiiiiet... 3GR is full of new whips these days... and none of them are Acuras (although the Accord Sport is getting close... :tongue)
Congrats Rockstar!
If I can make one recommendation that I learned from my Miata... get some 3M put on the lower portion of the car. My Miata looked like it was sand blasted from the slightly wider wheels... and don't lie... you'll have this thing on new wheels in no time.

so Rockstar's non-mod list is as follows (to date):
- wheel spacers
- lowering springs (I thought this thing had the magnetic ride suspension, no?)
- tints
- LED lights
- all weather floor mats
- sun shade
- ............

What I'm confused about is all that talk about how great it is not having a car payment each month since our cars are paid off. You've been my support system on that reason for not getting a Scat Pack or V and now you go all baller and have some ungodly monthly payment. What the hell dude? I mean, I'm really happy for you and all, but I feel like you've just cheated on me with one of the Real Housewives of Orange County and I'm stuck with a Real Crackwives of Metro Dade and sh*t, bro.
