And I agree...after getting the RV6 on the TL (first exhaust I've ever bought)...exhaust became a must for me! Gotta have that sound!

I really LOVE the tips on the ATLP. I really liked the idea of getting an XLR8 (because its much more affordable) and had thought about it, but I really didnt like the tips as much since they look so much like the stock ones (at first glance). I figured if I was spending the money, I might as well get ATLP since it offers an "aesthetic" mod (the tips), instead of purely sound. I'm loving it so far, but damn is it hard to drive slow now. I find myself driving like an asshole

LOL, I guess thats how i finally was able to justify the purchase

I feel the same way

My exhaust setup is pretty dead quiet while it's not accelerating.

What set up do you have GP?

I'm still loving mine after a couple weeks of driving the car every day! Hoping to add a jpipe in the near future and then I'll probably have to get a resonator to quiet it down some.

In other news, got a flat tire Monday on one of my aspecs Went to the tire shop hoping it was just a nail, but it turned out to be some sort of really small leak on the sidewall so I had to replace it. Of course I wanted to replace it with a matching Conti, and since the tire was being removed anyway I figured I'd throw on a TPMS sensor since they're not installed in my Aspecs. So $250 later, problem solved. Now I just need 3 more tpms sensors

what an issue!

I'm actually in the market for tires now...but I have to be honest with myself...I'll miss the Advan and those tires are at like 30% left...gonna have the advan tires flipped onto my aspecs (which are almost at the wires)...then new tires on the advan. Figure that'll work for the handful of times I swap the aspec onto the car. They really look SO perfect...what kills me is how great the advan end up looking and the fact that I see black tl's on aspecs a lot on here... nawmean?

smart move, right? only issue is I'll end up going 225/40...so I guess I'll be able to run a super flush look...which I guess isn't really an "issue"...

Anyway...keep on truckin Q...looking forward to your updates now...and always.

Sounds like a solid plan as long as you have a good connection for mounting and balancing! What kind of tires do you think you'll get next? I'm looking into wheel and tire set ups as I want to finally purchase my first set of brand new wheels and brand new tires as a gift from me to me this year for my birthday

Did some quick work and finally cut the to-do list down some this weekend!

Recent;
GM synchromesh fluid swap (OMG what a difference)
15mm front 20mm rear AKATA spacers
ATLP v2 exhaust (not the v1 as I originally thought, lol)

Installed this weekend:
LED board trunk lights
Amp wiring with cheap sub & amp
Upgraded Trunk switch & VSA switch to LEDs
New hood lifts
Pulled wiring for USA-spec from trunk
Adjusted front and rear coils to 8 clicks from stiff
Reinstalled rear seats (FINALLY)
Lowered front another 1/8" but it probably needs more

Still left are:
Short shifter
USA-spec install
Swap misc. bulbs to LEDs
Tint

And probably a few more things.

This was late today after a quick wash and tire treatment.

busy busy busy!
i did exactly the same shit...
but on the house

I'm actually going with kumho ecsta asx. I love the sumitomo I put on the S2000 but I don't need that kinda cost/performance on the TL. Plus, with the pre-labor day sales I go them for $260 shipped.

The front looks a little high, Q...but overall, looks fucking awesome, man.

i have magnaflow 11365 mufflers with stage 4.
I'll need to change the stock piping to 2.5" from the jpipe to the y-pipe, then 2.25" to the mufflers so it can be in the same league as the prestige exhausts lol

Not bad at all! I'm scouting right now, trying to decide what exactly I want to do. I kind of have my heart set on a specific set of rims, but am trying to wait it out to see if something comes my way at a good price.

Thanks! Yeah, in the pic the front looks a lot higher than the back but its sitting on a hill. I still need to adjust it a little, but the difference from front to rear isn't as big in person

Nice! after driving around for a bit more this weekend and taking the car on a 1.5hr trip on the highway I've come to the conclusion the ATLP non-res might be a little too loud for me. Its really borderline right now so I may look more into the Magnaflow or Vibrant resonators. This exhaust stuff is all new to me!

Hahah naw, no 20's for me! I had the 19" CV3s for almost two years, they got kind of boring after a while lol but some of the newer designs are nice; but fitment is limited for 19" and 5x114.3. it seems they cater more towards newer cars with 20" and bigger wheels.

Thinking I'll probably stay with 18's this time. Maybe 18x10 or 18x9.5 squared set up. There are a set of XD9's someone wants to sell me that I'm sort of on the fence about too.

nah, they're a matte gray/gunmetal which I think would look hawt on the NBP TL, especially since the aspecs look so good! They're 18x10 +18 though, so probably would require some work to fit, which isn't a huge deal. I've already had my rears rolled, so just gotta do the front fenders too and it'll probably be alright.

Now if I can just get the numbers to work with the seller. We're a little far apart

WOoooooooooooooooooooo

COMPLETELY Forgot I picked up an RV6 Jpipe this past weekend until I got a delivery confirmation just now of my new bolts/gaskets from Ritchie.

We shall see how much louder the ATLP exhaust gets after deleting the third cat.

If you go HF or catless, only rasp free one I've heard is TD...that's why I was such a stickler for finding that particular exhaust.

Ah, i see. I guess I'll have to try it out and see how it goes; i've done some research and its somewhat mixed.

I had terrible rasp with stock exhaust, V3 jpipe, and PCDs. Usually from what I've heard (the subject has been beat to death) the PCDs are what cause MOST of the rasp. I'm hoping I'll have little or none with just the Jpipe and exhaust since I'll only be removing the 3rd cat, but we'll have to see I guess.

Worst case there are two resonators that most people seem to prefer, one Magnaflow and one Vibrant....I may go that route but I'd probably just take off the exhaust or the jpipe and sell one of them and be done with it if theres too much rasp.

if there's rasp don't give any of those up!! it's a simple $100, 1 hour fix. a shop can weld in a resonator in 20 minutes. you can find a used resonator all over

I hate hacking up exhausts...

but yes, don't give up.

Anil says it's in my head, but I got rasp from just stage 3 and the jpipe...a little exhaust leak probably didn't help. Trial and error, what do I even know!?!?

I have rv6 v3 and stage 3 with the MagnaFlow res, and when I added the jpipe I got rasp at 3k - 3500 rpms. Still haven't dealt with that, but I'd love to be rid of it. Not sure what to do tho.

Anil is crazy I had rasp from the stage 3 too.

Congrats on getting another TL, Quan! And the ATLP! I adore mine, non-res too.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll end up trying to fit a resonator on there, but to be honest in my area its hard to find cheap labor for things like that. One time I went to see if I could get my stock resonator removed, and the guy at Monroe mufflers said something like $100 per weld I walked out lol.

Thanks! I love it so far, but its bordering on too loud at this point. Wife does not enjoy it

The only way for me to find out if I have rasp is to put on the Jpipe I guess. I've seen a lot of conflicting information, most poeple say the rasp is apparent, some say its barely there. Its the same sort of reactions to "is my exhaust going to be too loud without a resonator...." won't know till you try it!

Maybe today....

JJ is selling his ATLP j-pipe and race pipe...

https://acurazine.com/forums/car-par...s-atlp-935880/

That's if you hear rasp with the RV6 J-pipe.

I can't say because I researched about that combo and even the thought of a little rasp turned me off to pairing the RV6 to ATLP so I bought ATLP J-pipe, race pipe and catback all in one purchase.

Quan, just read through your whole thread with this latest TL. Very impressed with the way you work. If you need a great deal on anything OEM, hit me up. I worked Pohanka Acura parts from '07-'14 and now run the parts department at Honda of Chantilly and can get you and anyone else in the area great deals on OEM stuff. Keep it up, car looks sick...

Ah, see I'm usually very picky and originally when I got the ATLP my OCD told me I must get the matching ATLP jpipe if I could get my hands on one. Alas, the RV6 came at a good price so i went for it. If there is rasp then I may try to trade it in the BM!

Wow! Thank you! I definitely appreciate it and I may actually take you up on that offer. I was at Pohanka from March-August of 14' also but worked in sales; we may have crossed paths!? I'm actually planning on getting my alignment done at Honda of Chantilly since I heard you guys have an awesome in ground alignment rack! Just haven't gotten around to it yet
