Well this was a slightly productive weekend!
I got my 20mm Akata spacers in the mail. I've always had used ichiba spacers from the BM, so these Akatas were beautiful, brand new, and the anodized black looks awesome. I'm still expecting my 15mm any day this week, but won't be throwing them on until I do my front brakes and throw in the coilovers. Might as well do it at once!
I made a trip to the dealer and picked up a couple things and ordered myself a new stock shift knob + the Aspec front lip
While I was there I picked up a pair of new actuators for my side mirrors. Both were clicking horribly and one seemed to have a mind of its own so i decided to swap them out. I really love the feature of the side mirror tilting down when you put the car in reverse but wasn't able to use it because of the damn clicking. I've heard you can lube them up and it'll help for a while, but I figured I'd replace them both since they were only $35 each.
Very easy, you just stick a flathead screwdriver behind the mirror and pop out the glass. The mirror has two small wires for the heating element, and the actuators have three screws and two wiring harnesses in the back that you'll have to undo. done in less than 15 minutes each

looks good Q...
yeah the clicking can get very very annoying...am eager to see the post spacer pics...
what tires are you running? the reason I ask is, am running 225 on my stocks 17x8 +45 and am running 25mm spacers all around...looks very flush...but if you are dropped a lot, then 20mm would be just about perfect

Holy shit, mine too...and I've greased...but mine also have a mind of their own, which I didn't realize it might be the actuator.
Happen to have the part numbers, brother? Please?
What annoys me is if I put it to one side...I swore I was nuts because while driving I'll look over and the damned thing is showing me the sky!

LOL! I kept getting in the car and thinking someone else switched it or that my memory settings were wrong. Nope. Actuator lol.
Part number was 76210-STX-H03 for my type-s mirror. I would guess it's the same, but not 100% sure. It is the same part for both driver and passenger mirrors though!

Well, I bet amazon assumes that a type S isn't good for an 04 but in the reviews someone stated it worked in an 04-08 and even an MDX and it's prime and $38 each instead. I might give it a whirl, fuck it.
Thanks for the heads up, man.
Safety issue, really.
Someone even mentioned the seat position memory thingy worked after fixing it. That's really odd.

a lot of systems are interconnected, after I put racing seats in the car, I lost the reverse tilt down feature of the rear view mirrors...

Damn! I would never have thought the price could be that different! Im guessing its because those mirrors are probably getting a little older and requireing replacement more.
I will say though, it is pretty cool that we can replace the little actuators rather than having to replace the whole mirror! I hate when something doesn't work properly.
This weekend was productive but busy! Had a lot of family stuff going on so I didn't find time to do everything I wanted, but the car has been on jackstands for a week so I figured I might as well start working on it. Got the front suspension in, hopefully brakes up next then swapping in the rears!

Honestly, I wouldnt be surprised if they were the same part. I know the 07-08 mirrors themselves are SLIGHTLY bigger, but I doubt the actual actuators have any differences.
Hate when Acura does this crap. I remember the 2010 TL 6MT shift knob was 38$ while the 04-06 was 80$...They're the exact same thing! Sucks though, Acura caught on and when I bought a new OEM knob for my car the other day it was 78$ for the 2010 and 88$ for the 04-06. Ten bucks is ten bucks though so I got the 2010

Ah, Corollas... I had one for a few months after I sold my TL. Solid A---B cars, especially the 03+ but I feel you on the TL. There just isn't anything out there that catches my eye enough. Yeah, yeah, we all say it...but I've had 3 3G TLs so its definitely true for me

I still
my 12 year old TL.
In a major way.
Got the door lock actuator in Sunday...I'm sure I'll get the mirror actuators in this week when they arrive.
I just won't give up on her! I almost succumb to the desire for newer, "better", more features...but in reality, the TL satisfies all my needs and is beautiful and paid off.

haha!
I had a Corolla TYPE-S mind you. Its WAY different
Wrecked it, got an 04 6MT TSX, got bored of it, got a 01 celica...still have it as a beater. 220k, automatic, clean as a whistle from the original owner for 1000$ bucks. I've actually been drivingit daily the last two weeks since the TL has been parked

Damn Q, now you got me realizing I need to do my passenger side actuator, and the glass along with it. Maybe I'll order those parts soon, the mirror is more that 25% brown at this point.

Definitely not a bad idea! I love how smooth my mirrors tilt now Plus, its a bit of a safety concern. I'm really picky about my mirrors, I even rain-x them just to keep them as clean and water-droplet free as possible love it!
So, haven't had a chance to post a lot of updates lately. I haven't done much to the car, just washed it this past weekend and installed my new OEM shift knob (FINALLY) It feels amazing compared to the old one.
I've been stashing parts for a while now, its just been difficult to find time to actually do the work.
Waiting to be installed:
Full Aspec kit
Rear Tein suspension
Subwoofer w/wiring kit
USA Spec input
CT Short shifter
Front rotors and pads +15mm akata spacers
All this or at least most of it will go in together with the rear suspension. Since the back seats will be out, I may as well pull the wiring for the USA spec and the subwoofer. At that time I'll also likely throw on the rear Aspec lip and sides, as well as the CT short shifter since I'll have the center console apart. Then I'll probably pull off the front bumper, install the aspec lip, and also swap out the front brakes and add the Akata spacers.
I've also been waiting to get the car tinted for some time now, and looked at an exhaust i may be purchasing from a fellow member A few other things on my upcoming list are the OEM window visors, GM synchromesh, and Progress RSB, and probably some more shit I'm forgetting.
Here are a couple pics from this past weekend. Car looks kind of funny raked since the front coils are in but the rear is still on stocks

Great mod list, Quan!

Its been a while since I've posted an update, but I installed the rear coilovers about two weeks ago and have just been enjoying the car.
I haven't installed my rear seats just yet because I'm still dialing in the coilovers, but I was able to get something else noteworthy done!
I'd been talking to a friend for the last couple weeks about getting his ATLP V1 exhaust. We were finally able to schedule the swap this past weekend after I got back from vacation. We removed my stock exhaust and installed it on his, then I took a little bit of time polishing the tips and installed the ATLP V1 on my car. It is the non-resonated version and so far I'm really happy with it. Initially I thought it would be too loud and that I'd have to add a resonator, but so far its been great. If I ever add a Jpipe and remove the 3rd cat though, I may go ahead and add a resonator.
Wow, I'm impressed. Of all the mods I had thought about doing, exhaust was always last on my list and for some reason I've never actually put an aftermarket exhaust on any of my cars before, ever. This is a game changer for me and so far I'm really enjoying it. I love the look of the ATLP tips!
