Just picked up all of my my gear. I got some of it at a local Cycle Gear and ordered some more from Revzilla that I don't need right away.
Picked up a SHOEI RF-1200, Tour Master Intake Air 3, REVIT! Sand Pro (amazing glove!), ICON 1000 Truant Boots, Icon Compound Overpants, and Dainese Forge Shoes for some light riding/just walking around.
The gear cost 50% more than the bike did.
That's okay. It's going to last a very long time. I didn't want to cheap out either. This stuff is pretty amazing. Picking up my bike tomorrow (finally!). The 1978 CB550K.

Picked up a black one last week. Soo much fun. I mainly bought it to throw in my trailer for car events but have been putzing around on it. Every day I venture a lil further out, kinda like when I was a kid and started riding a bicycle. Most fun I have ever had going slow.

I have an OGIO Mach 3 backpack and love it. I get a lot of compliments about it as well ... http://amzn.to/1o54AZ8

we have a few that ride along with our ruckus group.
they are fun, but I could never get over the goofy riding position and how even smaller people look like donkey kong riding them.
its quite a funny rivalry between them and the GY6 ruckus guys in the group.
they can be modified to look really cool (when nobody is sitting on it)
but you're looking at a couple thousand bucks to get it to this point.

The red one is stretched, but not lowered much. he can still ride his like a stock bike... that composimo build above is not for carving up turns haha. (im not a fan of his whitewalls either but he loves them)

I finally found a bike! I'm checking out a 1982 Honda CB900c with 19k on the clock. Price is 650. It needs a few things but it runs.
The seller says that it breaks up over 5k rpm. From my readings these bikes have very touchy carbs and run lean so that's where I will start.

In Denver just last week, I saw a group of guys wearing motorcycle gear and carrying helmets come into the place where my wife and I were having dinner. When I got outside, there were 3 brand new Groms all neatly parked into a single parking spot. Wish I had gotten a picture as it was quite amusing at the time.

i went and bought my first 1 pc suit, Alpinestars GP-Pro which is on closeout on revzilla (super awesome customer serivce btw, price matched to another site to get it for $779)
The thing is stupid hard to take off! had to order a undersuit. I tried it on at my cube at work and looked like a wriggling snake trying to get out of his old skin.
Will be taking a look at the D(ianese) store here in costa mesa this weekend with a friend to see if they fit better.

So anyone else psyched about the new Scrambler?

I'm definitely going to check this out when it hits dealers.

I know im the minority, but still proud of my newest addition to the stable.
found a '94 Elite with only 245 miles on it. Needed a scoot to ride around with the GF on her ruck and for beer runs.
I put 220 miles on it the first day I got it home after changing the oil talk about a gauntlet.
runs great, looks mint.

First track day completed! No more chicken strips :P didnt get far or fast enough over to drag knee though.. oh well. came really close though..
I also did run off course once due to target fixation and i didnt commit to the corner. Turn 16 at chuckwalla running CCW. it's a pretty tight turn with no camber. Dropped the bike after slowing down to a stop in the dirt, minimal damage sustained. That occurred during the 2nd session of the day, sat out till noon for re-tech inspection then rode the rest of the day without incident. Later in the day the ambulance was called out 3 times to pick up downed riders. it was pretty sobering to say the least.
My form still needs a lot of work. not moving my butt off enough (need to work out more) and towards the end of the day i just got plain lazy/tired and instead of opening one leg i opened both so it looks like i'm just opening my legs instead of sticking one knee out.
i cant imagine the physical and mental strength to do something like the Macau GP (look it up).
Some pics:
My friend following me to record my BP and lines.
SV has not so great ergos for people around 6'. I put my rearsets back in the stock position (after lowering them) to give me more ground clearance. Stock geo on the SV has your knees bent more than a 08+ cbr600RR.

I'm new to riding & just got my license. Decided it was best for me to get a small beginner bike, so I picked up this 2009 Honda CMX250C Rebel with 260 miles.
This past weekend was my first time riding. I was told I did very well for a beginner. I think knowing how to drive a manual car helped also the bike is very forgiving and very easy to ride. I know I will want something bigger but I just might hold onto the Rebel. It's so much fun!
