Wait a minute... Thread started with a "friend" wanting a S2k... now you say "I'll keep it stock"...

Interesting, interesting...

I'd be more afraid of getting beat up because I have a 335i AND an S2000. Plus you're on an Acura website, not a Chevy one.

GPW S2000s with black/red interior = the sexiest

I couldn't afford it before I bought my Z28 and I can't afford it now but if I managed to find a good condition 02+ GPW/red I probably would have bought it.

635csi is being sold in the spring. Its only worth $4k tops.

Plus it wasnt technically mine anyways, it was for a work project. They funded it, but i found it and drove it.

Im opening my 4th clubs this week in Chicago, pics to come.

AP2 ftw! Apparently Honda did it again, they underrated the AP2, not just by a few hp. According to TOV, they tested two different AP2, both were stock, one was straight from Honda, while one was obtained from a TOV member. Both cars dynoed at 243 - 245whp, that's right, WHEEL hp. Also according to TOV, AP1 dynoed at 212 to 220whp (99 model dynoed the least, while 2003 model is closer to 220). In other words, Honda has been increasing the output by a little bit every year, but the AP2, with its F22C, has the greatest gain, even though Honda claimed it only gained a few lbft of torque.

Unless you want to go FI there is no easy power, most intakes lose power, headers on a stock AP2 do nothing. Hondata's reflash increases redline, and lowers VTEC engagement when it senses WOT, which creates more power in the midrange, but generates no more peak HP or torque. Hondata offers a different reflash for those with a header which has better gains, but it is not safe to use on a car without a header.

The only thing I am doing to my car is a basic stereo upgrade, the factory system is really terrible.

I have AEM V2... i am 100% sure it makes power...

that is bullshit... there is no way my AP2 makes anywhere near 240whp...
with 240whp i should be able to smoke E46 M3 left and right... but i cant. Not even close.

Nice car but for the money you spent on the 335i and this thing, why not just buy a porsche or something?

Well this time im not replacing them with anything fancy. Plan to keep the 335 as a fun/comfy daily driver now.

Hope to keep it reliable instead of bashing on it on the track.

I can beat on the S2k and bet it would still keep hauling.

Congrats Jesal Please report on the legendary manual transmission. Try to compare it with the 335i's manual transmission since it's the only recent MT I've driven!

It has an alpine headunit, when i switch it to CD changer i get CD quality classical music.

The owner was said to be 60 so that makes sense. The thing is... i cant find the freakin CD changer anywhere in the car.

Theres also an IPOD adaptor, if i connect my ipod it charges it but i cant figure out how to play it on the headunit. Ah the joys of a used car.

Did you check under and behind the seats? Assuming you already checked the trunk. It can only be in so many places...change disks with the sound and engine off and listen for mechanical sounds.

Damn it, we can't own the same car! Now I have to sell mine

There is a cool product from the company www.modifry.com its called a DCI(dach control interface) and it allows the use of the dashboard controls with certain aftermarket headunits, most all Alpines are included. For the convenience of not having to open the stupid little door for most functions its worth the money. I just ordered one, he even offers a plug and play harness so there is no splicing you just unplug everything and put this one in its place and your DCI is installed.

This is another must do free mod, http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=138773 this way you can use your top while driving with the ebrake one click on, obviously don't be stupid and try it at high speed. Its annoying sometimes for the car to have to read 0 mph with the ebrake on in order to operate the top.

There are a few good tips in the manual, the fuel door release is a mystery to some people, as is the infamous secret compartment. One good tip to look for in the manual is the plug for the convertible top motors, by unplugging it, it allows manual operation of the top. Its very easy to get to and is good to know about in the event the motors crap out on you while your out one day, while the chances of it happening are slim, knowing the solution could prove to be priceless. The only other thing you should check is the throttle cable, even the DBW cars have a throttle cable, it goes to a little black box under the hood on the drivers side. There is typically WAY more slack then there should be, its suppose to have 3/8-1/2" total deflection. Remove the two 10mm bolts holding the cover on the little black box and the rest of the adjustment is very elementary, mine had around 1.5" total deflection. Tightening it up improved throttle response noticeably and made it easier to drive smoother. Be careful not to go too tight, otherwise at WOT you run the risk of snapping the cable, grab a friend and have them help you check if you have any doubts.
