I say continue driving it as well. You already have a second car, why add a third if they can all perform DD duty admirably?

PS2s are OEM on select Porsche models but their sidewalls are too thin. Especially compared to the PSS. The only street tire better in the dry would be a Direzza Star Spec/RS3/BFG Rival, but they have their drawbacks.

I have done hours of research and the Super Sports are going to be my next tires. DD, non-competitive autox usage. BTW, look into the Michelin mileage warranty, PS2s are warrantied for 20k miles.

The PS2s are OEM on the CTS-V. The PSS are reported to be a better tire, with longer wear, for less money, than the PS2s, and of course are the newer, hotter tire. I got about 19k out of my PS2s, about average for the CTS-V, and I was very happy with them.

As far as the "keep driving it" argument, the car is a rarity and even with a lot of miles on it, it'll be worth something if I take good care of it. If I saw it as an investment opportunity, however, I would have garaged it from new and never, ever driven it. And what a shame it would be to do that.

......in 22 months. That is a record for me in any car I've ever owned. Shows how much I love driving it.

That includes road trips to the Grand Canyon, to Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone, to DC, to Philly, to Detroit (multiple times), and Buffalo (don't ask, but also multiple times).

I know I'm not a track hound like some of you, but I am demonstrating one way of using this car right. I took my first V to the track, so I've been taking it easy with this one.

I slowed down the driving after the summer road trip and have only put 4k miles on since June.

Some statistics from my Fuelly as of last tank, at 29828 miles (will edit after I fill up again today):

$7547.58 spent in fuel, 25 cents per mile.
$56.75 a tank on average
$3.81 a gallon for 93/91
Best mileage on a tank: 19.8
Worst mileage on a tank: 12
Average: 15.1

Oil changes: 5 (including yesterday)
Diff oil changes: 2 (including yesterday)
Rear diffs: 1 ie still in original
Superchargers: 2
Sets of summer tires: 2. 1st lasted around 18k miles. Now 3k on PSS
Sets of winter tires: 1 (around 8k)

I have had it to the dealer twice for unexpected service: 1 for supercharger fail, and 1 for paint fail. The car has never left me stranded.

Memories made in this car: PRICELESS. My son will always remember the big blue wagon that took him to the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. My best moment in this car was driving up and down Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado last year. Freaking awesome drive!

Bottom line: best car I've ever owned.

I was close to buying a wagon when I bought my coupe back in 2013.. But the coupe just "does it for me"... My only regret is not getting the 6MT.

Came from a 6MT 2010 Grand Sport and decided to get the auto after speaking with my wife who said she would like to occasionally (WITH ME) drive the V..

Ask me how many times she has driven the V in over a year........ That's right "0" times...

Ask me how many times I've asked her if she wanted to drive it.... About a million... OK, so I'm exaggerating but you get my point..

Regardless, it's an incredible car and I LOVE it.. And what I love even more is that I rarely see any V's, and when I do it's usually a sedan..

Did I miss this in the thread? I know your SC failed, but can't remember if this was posted.

GM extending warranties on Cadillac CTS-V and Chevy Camaro ZL1 for supercharger issue

Apparently warranty is extended for 10 years - 120k miles on the Eaton SC for bearing failure.

It needs to exhibit failure symptoms before replacing though. I wonder if this covers the engine if the SC critically fails and damages the engine.

My V sedan SC did not fail. I modded the sedan with a 2.5" SC pulley and converted it back to stock before I traded for the wagon.

My wagon SC failure was a bearing failure. It made the worst squealing you'd ever hear. Removed SC belt and drove it to the dealer. The SC replacement is a less than an hour job, really no big deal.

Now there is word that a) the new superchargers make a new sound at certain RPMs and b) Eaton has made a brand new design just for the V, and is testing it on a customer's car even as we speak.

I don't really care. SC warranty extended to 10 years or 120k miles, and I have an excellent dealer.

Nothing new other than that I've driven the V only about 40 miles in the last four months, and 4k miles since the summer. I'm still just a tick over 31k miles. I've allowed the RLX Sport Hybrid to be my "winter beater". However, when the snow melts, the V goes back to daily driver duty and I park the RLX.

Sorry to be boring, unlike Steven Bell and his Corvette. I just like my V as is right now. I may switch out my Cadi badges for the new ones this year.

The V is fantastic. It's so easy to just cruise along. I mean you can feel the power bubbling below your foot but it's not high strung yet not lazy. I found myself driving a road I drive everyday with many twists.. going 70. I thought I was going 40.. it's on rails and it was soaking wet outside. I backed off, definitely need to speed check more often til I get a better feel. Anyways.. still taking it easy. Only thing I find annoying is the way other people drive around it. Tonight some guy in a Durango tried to race me (Sarlacc?). Maybe I should debadge it.

Thats the one thing I dont miss with the Challenger...every idiot in every manner of shit box around you suddenly has something to prove.

I get it to some degree in the Durango because of the RT. Mainly from other trucks and SUVs...but not nearly as much as I got it in the Challenger.

Damn you guys. The CTS-V has always been a love of mine and I really like the wagon. After reading this I was scouring the web and found a Vagon in Texas for like $39k. If they'd give me $30k on trade for the Porsche I'd have a tough decision to make...
