Changed out the hood to Mazdaspeed hood.. I think it looks better and makes the car less busy..

Another pic..

Few more updated photos of the MB..

After Deals Gap Rotary Rally... I went to check out Import Alliance... Few photographers took pics of my MB FD..

Today, I swapped out the Volks with R888s to more streetable wheel/tires. Tires are Toyo T1-Sport wrapped around BBS MonoForged wheels. I am a fan or older Toyo T1S and T1R and was told the new T1-Sports are quiet, grippy, and responsive. Which after driving around today for over an hour through back country roads, highway pulls, sitting on traffic , I like the T1-Sport.

thanks for sharing, as usual.

I personally prefer the old vented hood you had on the car. I thought it flowed really well.

I got there kind of late and one of the organizer Don, told me to call him when I got there (for a better spot) but he never answered his cell. So, I stayed for about an hour and left. Also, i was extremely tired from running my own event few days before.

Anyhow, I'm hoping to make couple of more events in SE this summer.

Recently purchased the rare RE-Amemiya Carbon Fiber sideview mirrors..

Took the old APR mirrors off, made a small carbon base to cover up the old stock mirror mount area, and installed the new mirrors.

Afterwards, I realized the old bolts from APR were kind of old and had the used look. So, used some left over fender washer and bolts (from CR3 Motorsports) which worked out perfect!

I've also took my old vinyl out and trying out the Plasti Dip stuff on my lower half of my fenders to see if it helps protect the paint..

I've also blacked out the emblem using the plasti dip..

And how the car stands as of today with the mirror and such..

Thank you all for the kind words.. Both cars and now my silver will be worked on this summer through the fall. I also have some goodies coming from Japan and will post those items when I get them..

anyhow.. more updates..

Its been awhile since I last updated this thread.. So, here are few things I've been up to..

Trying to turn my MB FD RX7 into a fun track car. I had these Sakebomb Garage AP Racing BBK's for awhile and I finally had a chance to install them over past couple of weeks (been busy with non-car related stuff).

Racing Brake rear brakes

with my Plasti Dip Old School SSR wheels from the 90s

front

rear

whole car

I also got this really awesome surge tank set up to solve my fuel issue on the 20B RX7 that went to SEMA..

One I bought holds 2 x Walbro E85 pumps. Quality is top notch and reasonably priced for what it is. Its made of billet aluminum.

More info on this unit: Radium Engineering - Blog - New Product Release: Multi-Pump Fuel Surge Tank

They also make some cool oil catch can. I'm about to order one of those also.

Ok.. Finally after some researching the Plasti Dip and trying some cans, I've decided to get the Pro Car kit from www.DipYourCar.com and finally paint the whole car..

But, Day before dipping the car, took all the aero off and did a track day

Next day, I borrowed my friend who owns BNR Turbos' shop and prep'd for laying some 'dip'.
Here is a video :

Now some end results.

I also clear dipped all my carbon bits.. and installed my carbon aeros..

Interior with clear dip on carbon bits.

By the way.. 4 hours after dip, I had to drive 1 hour in rain back to my house..

Not bad for a first time dip.. Black is temporary but will keep it for few weeks and change to a different color... will post some more pics when I change.

It looks much better in person.. My wife who's very critical even said, "I like it". Also if you had the same color car for 10+ years, a change is definitely a nice thing. Good is that I can always go back. Hence I gave it a try. I also like the idea that this stuff protects your paint from farther chipping. A price to get a vinyl bra put on the bumper, I was able to paint the car for less.

Plasti-dip is very polarizing, but I think it looks great. I know from following this thread that you only use quality stuff, and I'm guessing that "pro kit" actually uses a decent sprayer, and not just rattle can.

It comes with a sprayer that does much better laying large surface. I would never repaint my good paint just to change color. I also like to try out new product and i only saw positive. I wouldn't however use this product as sole replacement of normal paint job. Just more as temporary change/protection. After awhile, I will surely go back to the original paint.

I want to dislike it...but I don't.
Looking good, as always, man. I don't like the little aero's although I know they're functional.

Always love stopping in~!

Thanks guys for the positive comments.

I will say about plasti dip stuff.. I've actually tried it on a small portion of my TL first (which is my daily) regarding real life test. I painted the front grill and the stuff shows no sign of fade nor tear in over 3 months. I also peel this stuff and showed no sign of damage under the paint. Also, if you start searching for spray on bra's, its very similar to Plasti dip stuff (couple of months ago 3M came out and now armor all).

That being said, another reason of me going with this stuff is to protect the car during several track days I'm planning to do. The one I recently did, I had a nice paint chip missing on the door from spinning off track during some hard pushing the car. If I had the dip on it, I wouldn't of lost that small paint.

My next track day is in Oct, along with some Nissans at Z1 National. I should have a new color on the car by than and some bigger aero parts. I have a full carbon hatch with APR GT 500 wing with custom pedestals for more aggressive angling of the spoiler deck.

or a flat white

The Grey is actually Pearl Grey..

Flat white isn't advised by some pros as they said it can stain easily and hard to remove stains. Otherwise, I was going to do pearl white... which I might do it later. Good is that this stuff can be overlayed to change color so not much prep.
