Well I think that's kind of different. MB of the mid-2000's and on is quite different from the MB of the 90's. Plus the SL has historically been one of their most problematic models while the E has historically been one of their best.

Sort of get what he's saying, I have a 2010 with P1 and swapped in HIDs/LEDs for all 10 bulbs and having to take the front wheel off just to access low-beam was kind of annoying. That being said, if you have the ability to read DIYs and have the slightest ability to work on cars, it's not any different, perhaps just more time consuming.

Also the amount of first case examples of failed air ride components is mind boggling (W220), although in recent years there have been many alternative fixes thankfully.

^ I guess having smaller hands helped! It definitely wasn't the easiest I've done but didn't need to bring it to the dealer.

BTW, how did the HID swap go? We were thinking about doing that (P1 here also) but then we started talking about a new car... so not sure.

almost all cars now-a-days require the front bumper to be dropped so that you can access the light bulbs.
unless you have small hands and can reach through the wheel well.

and you know what they say about small hands....

most of us asians, driving asian cars, on a asian car forum, have small hands

which is why we like to over compensate and mod the cars and put big wheels and slamm them

It could be an important life lesson for him whether positive (learns how to fix cars) or negative (learns not to buy others' messes).

Let us know what you decide, OP!

Went great and really transformed the look. On my 2010 I have the "double fog" instead of the LED bar/hockey stick so it was more work. If you're just doing low beams and LEDs in the top DRL spot it won't be bad at all. MB Forums has a great DIY and just remember to order the warning cancelers.

why...there is value to not having to go through the BS of selling 3rd party. Thats why you'd give a little discount to get rid of it.
