That's awesome. If you can wait a week we may be talking. Just deposited the payment for the Toy Hauler and the misses didn't say no. It also helps that she remembered you from our trip to Dallas a few years ago. She's not back until Friday, but I have a race this weekend... so we won't be able to really talk about it until Sunday.

Congrats on the R. I probably would have felt the same way about the CTR. Let's see more of your new car!
I'd be curious to see how the R compares to my ST. I've never driven one. And even better, compare back to back with the RS. I never fell in love with the interior of the GTI/R like I did the ST/RS.

LOL... yeah. I could probably stand to drive it to the beach and mountains from CLT... but not sure I'd want to do a 16+ hour drive in one. Likely just have it shipped. My Tundra came from Houston and it wasn't that much (although the dealer paid, I know what the cost was) and didn't take too long...

I would have went with the Golf R too, and drivetrain layout isn't the only reason. The CTR grabs almost as much attention as an Elise, but the CTR is so gaudy looking. I've never cared about looking ridiculous in an STI or Evo with their shopping cart-wings, but the Type-R is just too much inside and out. No doubt it's a blast to drive though.

I agree You should've seen me when I bought it. Laptop in one hand credit card in the other and phone pressed against my shoulder and ear. I was putting 500 down so he'd close the eBay ad. My wife walked in and said "are you buying a car?!?!" I said NOT NOW WOMAN!! She knew I wanted one. She didn't know that this one never saw a drop of rain and only had 4680 miles on it
