WV you pay 14.87 if you fail and you have 10 days to fix it. They also put a Fail sticker on your windshield. I failed cuz my tints were too dark. POS. Took it off and pass. paid 1 dollar. since the total was 15.87

BTW, check the date... this topic is ~4 years old and was bumped by a spam-bot.
LMAO! I just saw this was old about 2 seconds before your comment

My "super large" smart phone screen is in actuality not that large and I must constantly scroll so some minor details get lost in translation haha. If i saw how old the post was wouldn't have followed the "troll bot's" comment haha

holy old thread. In pa you pay for the inspection if it does not pass. When you bring it back within a reasonable time/mileage they only charge you for the sticker. This just happened to us with our 4runner. the exhaust didn't pass but it wasn't loud at all, but, it was 12 years old and they would know better since they do the inspections.

I took it back a week later with new exhaust and paid the $2 for the sticker.

You have NOTHING to complain about. As an enthusiast you should be ashamed of the fact that your girl drives an unsafe car. Put some damned tires on it, then pony up another $37 and get it inspected again. BUT check the inspection receipt. Of it only failed for the tires, it might only cost you $10 to reinspect it. NY state inspections are broken down into 3 parts in the NY metro area. When you get it reinspected the new receipt will have the NY state fee on it.
ok there clown boy...this thread is 4 years old....the car passed elsewhere and did not need 3 new tires...ever think a mechanic is trying to rip a girl off??? not to mention 3 honda accord tires shouldnt be costing more than 400..

i understand paying for the failed inspection because it was an inspection none the less, but if you come back with new tires he should give you a break since all he has to do is see the new tires to pass you...but then again he's gonna be bitter since you gave someone else the sale and not him

I don't know how it works where you are, but over here, you don't pay for failed inspections.

My stepfather just failed an inspection yesterday on his 2012 x5 for a wheel issue(not tires)
Im pretty positive he was just being sucked into a unnecessary sale because he was at the mercy of an a-hole mechanic who saw a nice car as an opportunity -__-

...AND he paid $37 for the inspection...In NY

^ If he has a 2012 BMW, why is he not going to BMW for his inspection? We know someone who owns an inspection shop and we take two of our cars to him, but we still take the Mercedes to the dealer. Same price and much better service.

Also... when he gets reinspected and passes, he shouldn't have to pay the full fee...

Ahh, I see the difference. You guys are going to a licensed shop for inspection... Over here there is no such thing. We must go wait in a long arse line at a state inspection facility. For us there is a sign saying u don't pay for a failed test.
