That TurboS is beautiful. The new wheel also looks much better than the factory one.

SO what's it like owning one of these? I almost pulled the trigger last summer but ultimately got gun-shy. It was a 996 turb x50 with like 30k miles on it. Had some work done, but being sold at local good porsche dealer. They wanted like 51k. For some reason it didnt feel fast. I had more fun driving the 2007 997S they had. Soooo confused.

The 996 turbo has pretty big turbo lag. Boost threshold is around 2,800 rpm and then takes a bit to spool up from there. An X50 has bigger turbos so there will be even more lag. Once the power kicks in though, it'll push you into your seat with authority.
The 997 Carrera S has nearly the same horsepower as a stock 996 Turbo (400 vs 420) but will fall far short on the torque (310 lb/ft vs 415 lb/ft).
If you don't let it boost up, the car does kind of bog. More than one friend has stalled it leaving a light or stop sign.

Damn I really like both. I think you should just leave it like that and enjoy the best of both worlds.

Need to dub the car either "the mullet" or "Jekyll and Hyde"
I think I'm happier and happier I chose both. But the last 12 hours have been a cluster fuck in my head.
Good news is they tires are directional.

I'm not usually big on gold/bronze wheels. But they look on the 911. Definitely gets my vote. Off the car, I preferred the gray, but the gold on the car.

I'm normally a big big fan of gold wheels, but for some reason, the gun metal keeps calling to me on this car. It just seems to flow better. The wheels look smaller in gold too, which is never a plus.

And this is why a different color is such a good idea. They both just look so good.

I liked one color on each side but not sure how I feel about both colors on each side. I know neither color is really bold but the gold is more bold than the gun metal so it will depend on whether you want a more subtle accent or something that stands out. I really like the way the gold stands out.

If you want a more old classic look, go with the gold wheels. If you prefer a more modern look, go with the gunmetal. However your specific wheel designs tend more on the classic side, so even in gunmetal it still looks a little retro.
The 996 911 straddles the line of being both classic and modern looking so either fits. It just depends on your preferences and vision of the car.
Personally, seeing what else is in your garage, I think the Gold fits your style more. The gunmetals are a little plain for the car.

This isn't intentional, been battling a serious tire vibration and have literally had the car up on stands probably 10x's moving things around, moving the stockers back on one at a time till I finally figured it out. The rear tires don't liked to be moved side to side. I've moved everything back to even colors now
