That would be an insane swap....could be an incredible sleeper...(though the motor/exhaust noise would give it away too fast.)
Thanks nist, I appreciate it. I will keep that in mind for future videos

That literally had me "laughing out loud." Trust me Booya, anything posted like that by me would NOT go over well here. Lol

You got it "David" Like I said, when you come out to the east coast, I'll let you drive her. Even better

Anyway, now that I can't drive the car, I've been looking around at all the work that was done to the car. I noticed the clean install they did on the fuel pump booster....I didn't even see it until I started inspecting the car! Now I know why my average MPG's are in the 8's!!

Here is my "Meth Lab" (5 gallon jug bought off of Ebay for ~$90 ). Methanol delivery requires signature confirmation.

ECS is very clever and designed a system which uses the windshield washer tank as the methanol reservoir

Took the car out today and had the funniest thing happen. As I was pulling into Best Buy in 2nd gear, two guys had turned around in front to see what was coming. The car started doing it's pops and crackles as I got near them going slow and I hear the one guy turn to the other and say "sh*t is cooking.....that's crazy"
Wish I had a GoPro mounted to get that....I couldn't stop laughing as I parked

Last Mod.....

This is OFFICIALLY the LAST mod I will do to this car. I am seriously done this time. Not another dime.

Oracle LED side markers, blacked out. They are so bright even "smoked" and during the day. What do you guys think?

Vids coming soon of this monster in action.

Picture quality is so terrible, I'm not sure I even see the sidemarkers.
Seriously though, such a great car...now document it with some legit pictures!

Awesome update though...I love your enthusiaorgasm.

I've been known for my shoddy camera work around these parts.... I'll get my Eos Rebel T5i out and take some quality shots with the S550 soon.

Also, I'll make up for all the bad pics with the GoPro video of the boost gauge light up as the boost comes on, methanol sprays, the front end lifts, and the thing rips like no tomorrow. : I'm still scarred to shut the traction control off, though....you will see why with with the next video

Brother, I had said this MANY times! Two years later, I'm basically done (still waiting for my red seat belts).

But one of my mods was exactly what you did. Here's my LED side markers....

haha....I'll just say "traction active" on the shift to 4th at 110 mph AND shift to 5th at 150 mph will put some hair on your testicles

Working 80 hr/weeks right now is limiting my fun/video time....

Godzilla Goes Down....and it feels good!

These days I ignore everyone that revs at me or starts playing Mario Andretti, but I've been eying one car since I supercharged my Vette: the GTR. Here is my little racing story since I didn't have my GoPro. I couldn't line up with one I ran into last week, but this time I found one I could. We spotted each other off the toll into Mexico but I was ahead in the line and took off slow so he could catch up. Eventually he caught me down the highway as he weaved through some cars to catch up. It was a young guy in a 12+ Dark Blue GTR. We both slowed down to open up space in front of us when he got next to me. I had my top down so it was easy for me to hear him. I tried to honk it off at 1st but that didn't work. So he said "let me count it off from a 40 roll." 40 rolls aren't necessarily the best for a Corvette, but it didn't matter, I just wanted to get a run in. He counted with his fingers out the window and we got a race. I started in 2nd gear. He hung in until the top of 2nd, but as I got into 3rd, it was over. Quickly put 2.5-3 cars before I got to the end of 3rd and stopped it there as there was some traffic ahead. He pulled up next to me and asked how much power I put down (in disbelief he just got dusted ). I didn't get to ask what he had done/how much power he had as he had to take the exit.

It feels good to take down the "gold standard" of a fast car, surprisingly easy at that. Thanks for reading.

Vids to come soon. I have to post some of how the car has a series of "mini explosion attacks" (not pops) decelerating in gear.

since when did the Holland Tunnel connect into Mexico?

great kill S ... a dig race would be interesting... he would get the hop on you with AWD and launch control, but i wonder how fast you can reel him in once you hit 2nd... your 2nd gear is tall topping at like 105mph so once you get into 3rd, you are moving swiftly already...

Thanks D. Yea, I have to have my GoPro charged and on me at all times, or maybe this Dash Cam Andrew posted is a better choice...

I wish I had a vid of his face/reaction after he got beat. It definitely was his 1st loss...

Thanks Andrew and lol . To be exact though, end of 2nd is actually around 75, end of 3rd is 110. If it went further, I would have put several more lengths on him. A dig run would test my launching skills. This twin disk race clutch is awesome though. I'll let you take her for a spin this summer and see how insane this car is. Centri superchargers are the way to go, forget Eaton/roots style. The rush of air being sucked through the front end as the car is coming at you makes everyone turn to look and see what's coming It's like a turbo run by a belt. I have to get a vid of that as well......

It's always an adventure with this car. That maybe a better bet than my GoPro (since I never have it charged/on me). hmmmm...price isn't bad either. Thanks for the link Andrew.

Vids to come.....

I found a guy on the GT-R forum saying there was this red corvette that thought he was racing and he just let him fly by as he listened to his self help books on tape. Could that be the guy?

There's an 08 base model C6 that the dealer wants $27,999 for:

- 6MT
- 54,000 miles
- Red, like deep red. I wish it was a race red.
- Tan interior with two black and tan seats.

Think it's worth it? The color's not my first choice, inside or outside, but I figured I'd get your opinion on the price.

I can tell you right now, no. Not because corvette's aren't awesome, but you need a Z06 and a color combo you love. You'll kill yourself going from that sexy blue to a red you're not that into.

i think that is too much for a base model with that many miles... i don't like the burgundy red.. i call it old man red... the Victory Red that doc has is really pretty... my buddy's Z06 is the same color...

if it had an LT2/3 with HUD, upgraded brakes and suspension, that's around the price they are going for now... but wait for your color...

this was back in November when we took a ride down to the Windmill

Sorry David, I haven't been on the forum and did't see your post (have now worked everyday this month....)

Don't buy a C6 without the Z51 package. It adds so much to the base and shrinks the gap with the Z06. The shorter gear ratios, brakes, sways (besides all the other stuff) are worth it alone. Also, if you plan to go boost, the LS2 makes just as much power as the LS3, so finding a good LS2 car (at a better price and boosting it with the money saved) would be my choice for you The fastest modded base on the "fast list" is even an LS2 base car.

There are a lot of C6's out there. Wait and find the right one at the right price. You won't lose ($) on it if you do (except for maintenance/mods)

Someone caught a clip of my Vette at the local "cars and caffe" on a really bad weather day (cold/windy). Starts at 0:36. You can hear me spin the tires all of 1st gear and again as I got to mid 2nd after having traction (as I pass the camera). Got a lot of positive feedback, including the head of the local Corvette club telling me "take care of it for me the next owner"

Turns out I had a Methanol leak and wasn't getting full boost, now its running at 16 lbs and over 700whp with the ATI UDP. Will try to get a speedo acceleration next. Also some pops/crackles/explosions that the vid doesn't get that I have to capture for you guys as they are epic.

I think the car sounds better than most of the exotics, ect in that vid after listening to it a few times. What do you guys say?

This effing guy... As if your car wasn't fast enough! LOL. 700whp. That's freaking ridiculous. BRB saving up for my trip to east coast so I can drive this monster.

Honestly though Doc, you're at a power level that most people will never experience. That's intense. You should be stepping all over 600cc sport bikes at this point.

And I agree with your comment about your C6 sounding better than most exotics.. But then again, I think some would say that I'm biased.

haha...power is addicting, and so is boost!! I think all us car guys know this! The LSx and boost are such an awesome combo, what I've missed all these years! Get here so you can drive this thing already

As you see in that 1-2 vid, when it hooks even after spinning all 1st, the front lifts and it just books!! It feels like I can run down a 600cc bike, even after spinning all 1st All true car guys would love this amount of power, I think

Thanks for the compliment as always David, even though it may be biased. Lol

I want an LS boosted one day!

Your 1st/2nd pull was scary looking as hell...both cars that wiggled their way to the market were the vettes!

I remembered this line from you and thought you would enjoy that vid

Yea, it is scary, but fun. As seen in these action stills my buddy sent me, the car just digs, lifts the front end, and you just hang on for dear life as the boost builds all the way to redline! Honestly, if the corvette wasn't engineered with 3 traction control modes and an ability to keep the active handling on while you can spin the tires going straight, I would have never done this as it really is too scary and the chances of the vette bitting you in the A** are too high with everything off.

biting you in the ass sounds so kinky though!
yeah, i know what you mean...I guess with the S2000 and the lack of ANY traction aid, I'm just used to having to temper the aggressive with my foot and steering. That's why the kinda power you make scares me but I can understand that it's also more forgiving.

The S2K is obviously a different beast than a Vette (even non-boosted). BUT, the S2K is the perfect car to master your skills for more powerful machines in the future.

I will say though, the Corvette's active handling system is a work of genius and I am (and have been many times in the past) thankful for it. It's the people that shut everything off that get in trouble...

Gotcha, well, maybe one day I'll fuck with it.
Not gonna lie...when I see a convertible C6 Z06 in that burnt orange color...my pants get shorter.

I grew up with ALL my friends working on fox body mustangs...there was one guy with a vette across the street and there was always this rivalry and they made fun of him for his car. So, inherently I'm not supposed to like Corvettes...but now that I'm older and my old man, I can't help it...I do. Still have a soft spot for a mustang with some old school h pipes to flowmasters though...302 HO baby

btw they didn't make the C6 Z06 in a drop top... all Z06s are hardtops (not even targa roof)... only the C7 Z06 has a vert option...
