Have you used them? My flash photog experience is strictly limited to a reception last month, using a borrowed (crummy) flash sans diffuser. I have research to do. I did notice my technique/lighting improving toward the end of the evening.

^^^Not as much as I would like to (I'm thinking one time now, more with the 420EX I sold to Jackie), the opportunities to use the flash doesn't present itself that much. Plus with a few of the lenses I have, I don't need the flash that often.

Yeah, I haven't had much need for one either, especially since I typically prefer natural light photography. I promised my friend I'd do this reception, though, and I'd like to do it right. I'd really love to shoot the ceremony, but I think bride's maids w/ cameras are frowned upon.

I'll also be doing bridal portaits for her outside at the DC Arboretum, and thought fill flash would be nice. We'll see how it goes!

FYI - We had a nice little chat about various flash diffusers back in this thread. May be worth a look for anyone considering one.

No idea. How is collecting dust at home. Properly will use it with my film camera one of these days to shot some old fashion pictures.

Too bad that the 430 did not work with my Pro-1 or any Digital Camera (did not support ETTL)

They aren't so pretty when you are repackaging lenses from one box to another I did that as a temp one summer and ended up with so many hang nails. If I never see one of those boxes again, it will be too soon.

Hmm, I'm the wrong one to ask for flash advice...just got mine last month, & haven't really had a chance to use it yet. I've got some reading to do, myself! I know Dan has posted some links around here somewhere...
