I'm not sure how smugmug works but.. it seems like it resizes the pictures based on display resolution / available screenspace - when I do full-screen on my Firefox, the picture fills a large portion of the screen. was surprised by that.

Roger Nordstrom Photo This GigaPan was made at Bryce National Park in Utah. The 230 images that make up this 620 megapixel image was show at Sunset Point.

When looking at the image be sure to zoom in. You can see all sorts of detail.

The 230 images were shot with my Canon G11 fully zoomes with Canon's teleconverter.

26-Gigapixel Photo Sets New World Record

Captured in a series of 1655 images taken with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera, a man by the name of Holger Schulze captured a 26-Gigapixel photo of the cityscape in Dresden, Germany. The camera used a 400mm lens and was mounted on a motorized head to take the shots over nearly 3 hours.

The computer that processed the RAW image files had 16 processors and 48GB of memory. It took approximately 94 hours to stitch together all the shots into the massive 26-Gigapixel image. You can see the entire shot, as well as zoom around the cityscape, at this website: http://www.dresden-26-gigapixels.com/dresden26GP

Indeed. I was going to suggest this guy must have full fledged media credentials along with an automated remote camera setup but he says he enjoys photographing Shuttle launches "on the side." Makes me wonder.
