Post TechArt Launches GTstreet Cabriolet

Info...

First revealed at the Geneva Auto Salon 2008, Porsche tuner TechArt have released full details and pricing for their GTstreet Cabriolet model.

Based on the new Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet, the package takes the already extraordinary 911 Turbo with its standard 480 hp (360 kW) and increases it to 630 hp (463 kW). This is achieved through a comprehensive TechArt TA 097/T3 engine upgrade which includes a sports air filter insert, carbon engine styling kit, carbon sports exhaust system, high performance intercooler, stainless steel exhaust manifold, T30 VTG turbocharger, high performance valve exhaust system with sports catalytic converter, black chrome tail pipes and Motronic 097/T3 fuel management system.

With the last component including the TechArt short shift kit with ball bearing gear cables, the GTstreet Cabriolet reaches a top speeds of 214mph (345 km/h), going from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.6 sec (3.5s tipronic S).

Catering to form and function the GTstreet is fitted with an aerodynamics kit consisting of a front apron with an extendable carbon fibre splitter, which creates downforce over the front axle and provides ventilation to the radiator and front brakes, carbon fenders which are 10 mm wider than the series fender for a unique look, rear apron with integrated carbon diffuser which also adds downforce and integrates the black chrome tail pipes.

Inside the GTstreet leather upholstery is available in black and phantom grey with coloured decorative stitching in addition to a matching 3-spoke steering wheel with air bag. The optical package in red/phantom grey/carbon or matte black rounds off these additional extras.

The TechArt VarioPlus threaded chassis builds on the electronically adjustable PASM absorption system of the 911 Turbo. The possibility of lowering the vehicle up to 25 mm can be individually adjusted as can the absorption system, which can be changed from ‘normal’ to ‘sport’ with the press of a button.

Brakes receive TechArt’s 6-piston monobloc aluminum calipers up front and 4-pistons in the rear. TechArt Formula III forged one-piece wheels size 8.5Jx20 (front) with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Plus tyres in 245/30 ZR 20 and 12Jx20 (rear) with 315/25 ZR 20.

Price for the GTstreet Cabriolet starts at €255,000

Press release for the Coupe...

TECHART Automobildesign GmbH presents its cutting-edge TECHART GTstreet RS, based on the Porsche 911 GT2 (997), with an impressive best time of 1.06:811 minutes on the short course of the Hockenheim circuit.

Since 2001, TECHART GTstreet vehicles have been among the fastest and highest performance sports cars in the world. This high performance is reflected in the GTstreet RS’s statistics - 700 PS and 515 KW – with a maximum torque of 860 Nm. This power is achieved through the use of modified turbochargers, enlarged carbon inlet pipes, specially developed intercoolers, a sports flap exhaust combined with high-performance headers, modified pressure sensor and a sports air filter. The GTstreet model demonstrates a high level of performance in the wind tunnel: with a downforce of 10 kilos on the front and rear axles at a speed of 140 km/h.

GT RS front apron is fitted with a carbon splitter. A special air duct has been constructed to enable the cool air to pass directly behind the radiator and over the newly created air outlet thereby reducing the buoyant force on the front axle considerably. Side carbon flics support this effect in that they increase the downforce considerably by acting as a counterpart. All of the sporty basics are featured, creating a sporty appearance and fast model with its aero-bonnet, headlight shades, mirror shades, GT sill panels and carbon roof spoiler. The GT rear spoiler is particularly striking with its carbon winglets and gurney flaps. The GT RS rear apron with carbon diffuser, air outlet and carbon air wings complete the programme for this club sports car.

The performance of the GTstreet RS is also reflected in the chassis. With its TECHART Formula III forged rims and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Plus tyres, the GTstreet RS offers drivers the maximum performance for a street-worthy sports car. The impressive 1.06,811 min. lap time on the short Hockenheim course emphasises yet again the GTstreet RS’s ambitions on becoming one of the fastest sports cars in the world. The special TECHART threaded chassis is also available for the GTstreet RS.

From coloured decorative stitching to complete leather furnishings in the colour of your choice or decorative components in various materials such as carbon or piano lacquer, TECHART offers a virtually endless range of possibilities to meet all tastes in furnishings. Additional accessories such as aluminium pedals, a 3-spoke sports steering wheel and illuminated door sill protectors with an individual logo complete this diverse range of furnishing options.

Post TechArt Unveils GTstreet R based on Porsche 911 Turbo

From Worldcarfans...

TechArt continues its re-inventions of Porsche supercars. Just last spring TechArt presented the GTstreet RS, its specialised version of the Porsche 911 GT2. Now, its latest creation is based on the 911 Turbo which TechArt, located in the same region of Germany as Porsche, has turned into one impressive performer. As if the 911 Turbo wasn't one already.

The GTstreet R comes fitted with TechArt's performance kit TA097/T3, which sounds like something out of a science-fiction movie. What all those letter and numbers mean is 660 hp and a maximum torque of 860 Nm at 4,600 rpm for this re-imagined 911 Turbo. Coupled with Porsche's Tiptronic S transmission, it takes the GTstreet R a mere 3.4 seconds to reach 100km/h.

TechArt takes the 911 Turbo's standard 3.6 liter turbocharged engine and boosts its performance with new turbochargers, special intercoolers and a host of other technological tidbits that make this horse run a lot faster.

Press release...

TechArt presents the direct successor to the TechArt GTstreet RS presented in spring – the new TechArt GTstreet R, based on the Porsche 911 Turbo.

'Quod erat demonstrandum' (this completes the proof). It was with this sentence that Sir Isaac Newton always completed the presentation of his mathematics and physics-based evidence. At TechArt, the phrase stands for the challenge of kitting out 'Non plus ultra' ex works vehicles with impressive performance capabilities. The result: the TechArt GTstreet RS based on the Porsche 911 GT2.

This vehicle concept is now being applied to the Porsche 911 Turbo in the form of the TechArt GTstreet R. The latest addition to the TechArt GTstreet family, which has stood for uncompromising sportiness since 2001, is therefore one of the world's top performing sports cars.

Impressive performance data

The GTstreet R is fitted with the TechArt performance kit TA097/T3 with an engine performance of 485 kW (660 hp) and a maximum torque of 860 Nm at 4,600 rpm. The GTstreet R with Tiptronic S can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and with manual transmission it only takes a tenth of a second longer. The remarkable propulsion levels out at a top speed of 345 km/h.

An ample increase in performance is guaranteed thanks to the new turbochargers, large carbon fibre inlet pipes, special intercoolers, a sports exhaust system combined with high-performance manifolds and an improved sports air filter. A balanced downforce on the front and back axels and specially adapted TechArt VarioPlus coil over suspension guarantee excellent driving performance at high speeds and ensure extra driving stability and safety.

Technology meets emotion

The design of the car body brings sporting agility and a perfect exterior design. The aero-bonnet, headlight trims and mirror trims, striking sill panels and carbon fibre roof spoiler characterise the dynamic design of this sports car. Precise air ducts on the front spoiler and rear wing optimise the engine ventilation. The striking rear apron with its carbon fibre diffuser and air ducts to the intercooler are additional special features of the comprehensive TechArt GTstreet R aerodynamic programme.

TechArt interiors stand for exceptional quality and care worldwide and are produced by hand at the TechArt saddlers department. This also applies to the diverse range of interiors available for the TechArt GTstreet R. A high degree of design freedom is on offer including individually tailored leather fittings, striking decorative stitching and sporty highlights in individual colour combinations. Additional accessories such as the non-slip TechArt 3-spoke sports wheel, aluminium pedals and much more round off this comprehensive range of interiors.

2010 TechArt GT Street RS

Press release...

Shift down a gear, come to rest – TECHART has organized the turn of the year very differently. After TECHART’s full size SUV speed record in the Italian Nardo, the TECHART GT Street RS based on the 911 GT2 broke the former lap record at the Sachsenring race track. High speed, pace, uniqueness – 100 % TECHART.

In the comparison carried out by AutoBild SPORTSCARS, TECHART impressively asserted its superiority over the competitors. Already before the record drive on the 3,671-meter circuit, the TECHART GT Street RS impressed spectators and proved its unique versatility. Apart from the sprinter qualities demonstrated several times, which were once more unheard of (from 0 to 100 km/hh in only 3.5 sec), the sports car displayed another quality that was just as important: A 36-yard braking distance at a speed of 100 km/h is looking to find its match. Once again, TECHART’s basic principles were confirmed: TÜV-tested and approved components as well as OEM quality in every detail.

For the conclusion of the extensive test program, the TECHART GT Street RS was able to crown once more the performance achieved on this day. With a lap time of 1:31.94 min, the winner of the Tuner Grand Prix 2008 and 2009 repeatedly demonstrated the TECHART winning gene. With more than 1.95 sec of head start, it left not only the competitors far behind, but improved the current AutoBild SPORTSCARS lap record at the Sachsenring by an unprecedented 4.47 sec.

2010 TechArt GTStreet R Porsche 911 Turbo

Press release...

The TECHART GTStreet program has been recognised for years as a success formula with its sights firmly set on dynamics and incorporating racing engineering to create vehicles that stand for pure driving pleasure as well as full on-track capability. The latest example is the GTStreet R based on the 911 Turbo; it is now undergoing its world premiere. Its road performance statistic, 660hp and 860Nm, is highly impressive - developed by the TECHART engineers who are driven by the ambition of not submitting compromises. And just as uncompromising is the vehicle's suitability for everyday use, thanks to its day-driving light and integrated TECHART nose-lift system.

High-End Performance

The impressive performance is primarily down to the TECHART TA 097/T3.1 performance kit, which raises the power of the standard model from 500 to 660 hp. At 4,500rpm, this means that a maximum torque of 860Nm can be transmitted to the permanent four-wheel drive system. TECHART's sport clutch and modifications to the transmission ratio of the standard 6-speed gearbox results in the GTStreet R's sprint performance of 0 to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds. The permanent dynamic propulsion only reaches its limit at 345km/h.

The essential power driver of the vehicle design is the TECHART GTStreet R aerodynamic kit. The significantly lowered front apron with carbon splitter provides downthrust on the front axle and improved airflow to the brakes and intercooler. The adjustable rear spoiler with air inlets and rear apron with integrated carbon diffuser contribute to the high level of downthrust on the rear axle while ensuring an optimum drag coefficient. Handling in extreme conditions is significantly smoother as a result. The TECHART multifunctional day-driving light system, integrated in the front apron, has E approval and fulfils ECE R87 regulations. It is much more than just a sophisticated design feature – it also makes an all-round constant contribution to safety, both day and night. The LED system unit integrates the day-driving light, sidelights, parking lights and indicators in a single housing, and merges harmonically with the general design of the vehicle's front end. The output intensity of the light is automatically modified in line with the selected driving light circuit.

Maximum grip and everyday suitability

The TECHART Formula 5-spoke light alloy wheels in dimensions of 19" and 20" transfer the enormous level of available power securely to the tarmac. For optimum road holding, TECHART recommends fitting either Conti Sport Contact 3 or Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Plus tires. The TECHART VarioPlus threaded chassis design means that it is possible to adjust the chassis height by up to 25 millimetres, to suit the route conditions. The TECHART nose-lift system allows the driver to raise the vehicle by up to 60 millimetres at the front axle, at the touch of a button, to avoid unpleasant contact with kerb edges or steeply inclined upward road surfaces.

High end down to the last detail

Passion and love of detail – the exclusive TECHART character is also reflected in the interior of the sports car. TECHART's complete leather furnishings, including the door and side panels, emanate a unique feel, in combination with the delicately fashioned and custom-coloured decorative stitching on the centre console and bucket seats, and in other places too. Individual decorative components made of carbon fibre, the aluminium pedals, and the illuminated entrance sills serve to further enhance the uniquely athletic appearance of the interior. All in all, TECHART offers a virtually unlimited degree of freedom when it comes to customising the interior – with passion down to the last detail.

Keeping 680 hp tamed for two weeks

TECHART is displaying the GTStreet R based on the Porsche 911 Turbo in black and phantom grey at the Geneva Motor Show. Although the vehicle is forced to remain stationary during the two-week show, the incredible power of the 660bhp athlete is quite evident. The GTR front spoiler is seamlessly incorporated in the shape of the bumper, conveying its pure sporting character the moment you first look at it. The black leather interior is further proof that TECHART knows a few things about convincing design. The car's uncompromising athleticism is immediately visible from the high-grip, hand-stitched TECHART 3-spoke sport steering wheel, the sport pedals and TECHART gear lever, and further enhanced by the delicate, red stitching.

Another element which is GTStreet R through and through are the TECHART leather sport seats, which not only ensure an uncommonly high level of comfort and excellent side support, but are also fashioned from high-class materials. Such as the hand-made seat covering made of fine and durable leather and the backrests finished in the vehicle colour with the GTstreet R logo.

Post 2011 TechArt GTStreet RS

Press release...

TECHART presents the GTStreet RS based on the Porsche 911 GT2 RS at the IAA. It is the most powerful car which has ever left the workshop in Leonberg. The super sports car fascinates with an impressive performance of 530 kW (720 PS) and 900 Nm torque in combination with an unmistakable characteristic body kit.

High End Performance

TECHART power kits are uncompromisingly sporty as well as suitable for daily on road use. These features as well as the years of experience of the TECHART engineers were given to the development of the power kit TA 097/T2.2 for the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The overall performance of the sports car increases to 530 kW (720 hp), the maximum torque to 900 Nm. The measured data is impressive: the GTStreet RS accelerates from zero to hundred in 3.3 seconds. After 9.5 seconds the needle passes the 200 km/h mark. With a maximum speed of up to 352 km/h the top athlete confirms his new strength in an extraordinary way.

Unique design

The TECHART GTStreet RS impresses with performance – and its look. Its capability is reflected in the extraordinary exterior design of the sports car. The significantly lowered front apron with a fixed carbon splitter and an adjustable splitter of hard-wearing polyurethane-RIM ensures additional downforce and due to additional air-ducts an improved airflow to the brakes and intercooler. Eye-catcher at the rear: the rear spoiler made entirely of carbon-fibre - handling in extreme conditions is significantly smoother as a result. A rear apron with an integrated diffuser in carbon-fibre, air outlets as well as carbon-fibre air wings close the GTStreet RS program.

Performance and suitability

Furthermore available is the TECHART Noselift System for the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The hydraulic system features a trouble-free backfitting, a rapid height adjustment of approximately 10 mm/s with particularly silent operation as well as fully integrated operation via a button with a status indicator at the roof console. Besides the perfect integration in the GT2 RS, EMC-safe electronic control units, vehicle-specific CAN bus integrated wiring harnesses as well as high-performance test procedures are part of the premium development process.

Furthermore TECHART offers the 20-inch Formula Race lightweight forged centerlock wheel in sizes of 8,5J x 20 ET 40 and 8,5J x 20 ET 52 for the front axle and 12J x 20 ET 50 for the rear axle for the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The rigidity and weight ratio was optimized for the TECHART Formula Race and - based on the lighter twin spokes and the connection through the centerlock - provides a weight advantages of 10% if compared to the TECHART Formula III forged wheel and impressive 25% if compared to a light alloy wheel. The result: a reduction of the rotating and unsprung mass, which results in an even more agile driving behaviour and increased driving dynamics.

Craftsmanship down to the last detail

Passion and love of detail – the exclusive TECHART character is also reflected in the interior of the sports car. TECHART's complete leather furnishings ensure in combination with a delicately fashioned and custom-coloured decorative stitching a unique feeling. Individual decorative components made of carbon-fibre or aluminium pedals and illuminated door entry guards underline the uniquely athletic appearance of the interior. All in all, TECHART offers a virtually unlimited degree of freedom when it comes to customising the interior – with the TECHART-typical precision.
