Mercedes-Benz: C-Class News
From auto spies.
Mercedes-Benz to drop bombshell on BMW 3-series and the rest of the $30K car world with the GORGEOUS next generation C-class.
For all of you BMW drivers frustrated by the “kooky” new designs coming to your dealerships, MB has heard your cries, and will start offering customers antidotes to the BMW “Kooky design” Virus that’s been going around.
Check out the next generation C-class!
WOW!!!!
Now, THIS is beautiful design!
We may even go so far to call it a masterpiece, that will DE-THRONE the 3-series and any other wannabes, in this market.
Aggressive, muscular, elegant…Yea, it’s all that and more.
Just think, you won't have to tell everyone for a year that they will have to "Get used" to the design and salespeople won't have to spend the first 20 minutes with customers "convincing" them it's good looking!
And if you think that MB is through with the offensive, wait till you see the CLE (even better looking) and the next generation S-class!

It is well known that Auto spies hates BMW cars and loves Mercedes cars, so some of their comments above are "skewed" towards that sense, but still....if this is accurate above, I like what I see with the direction Mercedes is taking. BMW is vulnerable for 1-2 years and if Mercedes plays their cards right, they could steal significant market share. Especially in the USA.

I was thinking the same thing about the back looking similar to the TSX, i think the car looks sweet, the front looks almost exactly like the current S class

1sicklex - what do you own again? i hope not an IS300... because umm... yea.
ummm...yeah, what? Right now a GS 400, I bought an IS 300 too back in December but it's just too small for me.

Suzuka Master
not bad, it's an improvement, but a little too angular for a Mercedes. It looks like a mini Maybach in the front. Now if they could just build a coupe that could compete with the 3 series.

Mercedes C-Class AMG News **C63 Spied (page 3)**
Chris Thorp
Merc Ready For C Change
Here's some braking news. Exclusive pictures in the current issue of Auto Express magazine show Mercedes' new V8-engined C55 saloon undergoing tests to make sure it can stop as quickly as it goes. The next German super-saloon is due next year, and this is also a first glimpse at the facelifted C-Class.
The flagship will get the same styling changes as the rest of the range, including clear glass headlights and LED tail-lights. That will bring the car in line with the bigger E and S-Class. New body mouldings around the sides are also visible under the black plastic disguise.
The C55 will come with a full AMG bodykit, featuring low side skirts and modified front and rear bumpers. The twin exhaust pipes hint at the potential, and - along with large-diameter five-spoke AMG-branded wheels - create an aggressive look. Many of the AMG add-ons will be available as optional extras on lesser models so, to set the C55 apart, Mercedes' designers have penned a bespoke front end. This section is heavily disguised in these shots, but it will include a special radiator grille in the style of the CLK coupé.
Stylists are said to have agonised over which style of three-pointed star to use. Our sources say the grille-mounted badge - normally reserved for coupés and convertibles - may take the place of the more traditional emblem, standing proud on the bonnet.
Power will come from a normally aspirated 5.5-litre V8 engine producing a mouthwatering 367bhp. As with most high-performance Mercedes, the C55 will initially feed its power through a five-speed automatic gearbox to the rear wheels, although a seven-speed automatic box will be available later.
Available as both a four-door saloon and five-door estate, the C55 and the revised C-Class range will be launched from next February.

Fahrvergnügen'd
Man, I wonder if Mercedes is going to go to a sub-C class like BMW is doing with the 1-series.
If they consider it, they better get working on a new 4-banger because the current one is way behind in terms of refinement.

The smaller models (C class and SLK) will be gettin the 5.5's in their AMG's while the Larger models like S, E, SL, CL, CLK, E-coupe and M will get differently tuned versions of that 6.3 litre V12 beast in the comming SL/CL65.
o yeah, the 7-speed auto is a must for AMG cars because apparently the Engines have enough torque to put that 5-speed within an inch of its life.
what can i say, i visit the MB E55 forum when this place is "too busy"

Mercedes' new V8-engined C55 saloon will get the same styling changes as the rest of the range, including clear glass headlights and LED tail-lights. That will bring the car in line with the bigger E- and S-class. New body mouldings around the sides are also visible under the black plastic disguise. Like its smaller C32 brother, the C55 will come with a full AMG bodykit, featuring low side skirts and modified front and rear bumpers.
The twin exhaust pipes hint at the potential of the C55, and - along with large-diameter fivespoke AMG-branded wheels - create an aggressive look. The C32, however, will retain just one pair of pipes on the left side. Many of the AMG add-ons will be available as optional extras on lesser models so, to set the C55 apart, Mercedes' designers have penned a bespoke front end. This section is heavily disguised in these shots, but it will include a special radiator grille in the style of the CLK coupe.
Stylists are said to have agonised over which style of three-pointed star to use. Our sources say the grille-mounted badge - normally reserved for coupes and convertibles - may take the place of the more traditional emblem, standing proud on the bonnet.
While the C32's 3.2-litre V6 will continue to produce 354 HP, power for the new C55 will come from a normally aspirated 5.5-litre V8 engine producing a mouth-watering 367 HP. As with the C32, the C55 will initially feed its power through a five-speed automatic gearbox to the rear wheels, although a seven-speed automatic box will be available later. Available as both a four-door saloon and five-door estate, the C32, the C55 and the revised C-class range will be launched from next February. @Automedia
