2012 Underground Racing Lamborghini Aventador TT

http://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/...px?mmysid=4239

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="2" width="500"><tbody><tr><td class="ecgbContent" align="left">The Lamborghini Aventador is a mechanical triumph, being one of the quickest Lamborghinis to date. But Underground Racing thought that the Aventador could use a little more power. And by a little more power, they meant doubling the horsepower. The stock Aventador puts out 691hp while Underground Racing’s Aventador puts out over 1200hp. How did they achieve this feat? It all has to do with the twin-turbo they added to the car. As if the powerful V12 wasn’t enough, Underground Racing turbocharged the engine not once, but twice. They say that they had to spend a lot of time working around the road blocks that were in place on the Aventador’s engine that UR suspected were put there to make it hard for the aftermarket world. Nonetheless, UR found a way and successfully created a twin-turbo system for the Aventador, making it the fastest Aventador. Now that the car is finished, UR is happy to say that it is running and running unbelievably fast. Going 0-60 mph 2.2 seconds, the UR Twin Turbo Aventador is set to be one of the fastest cars to ever be on the streets. To compliment the twin-turbo system is a Quickshift upgrade to the Aventador’s 7 speed transmission. It seems as though the rest of the car is quite stock, as this is a tune on a straight-out-of-the-factory model. But exact details are not being given yet, as Underground is worried about other tuners knocking off their system. Underground Racing says that their twin-turbo system is now available through them and is available for purchase. A definite price is not given and some specifications have not been given but we will keep you up to date on the specs and further details as they are released. </td> </tr> <tr> <td height="20"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> 5

Lamborghini makes Aventador more fuel efficient for 2013

Through the addition of start-stop system and cylinder deactivation technology, the new 2013 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is up to 20 percent more fuel efficient.

by Antuan Goodwin October 3, 2012 1:31 PM PDT

The 2013 Aventador doesn't get great gas mileage, but it's better than last year's.
(Credit: Antuan Goodwin/CNET )
I can that imagine someone at Lamborghini thinks that the Aventador's 700-horsepower split between all four wheels is probably enough power for one car. (And no, I don't agree with that person.) I assume this because rather than getting a nominal power bump for this model year's update, the 2013 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 gets a mile per gallon bump thanks to the addition of cylinder deactivation and idle stop-start technologies that allow the V-12 engine to instantaneously and momentarily make less power in the pursuit of using less fuel.
The Cylinder Deactivation System (CDS) works like this: When cruising or coasting at speeds below 85 mph, the Aventador shuts down one bank of its 6.5-liter, V-12 engine -- essentially transforming the engine into a 3.25-liter, inline six-cylinder. You don't need all 700 ponies for your daily commute, so by basically shrinking the engine on demand, Lamborghini is able to squeeze out a few more mpgs. When the user decides that it's time to drop the hammer, the CDS fires the second bank of cylinders back up with no more interaction from the driver than an increase in pedal pressure and, presumably, no hesitation.
When the 2013 Aventador comes to a stop, so does its engine thanks to the start-stop system that reduces fuel wasted while idling. Energy stored in a high-performance capacitor in released instantly the moment the driver's foot leaves the brake pedal, restarting the engine in just 180 milliseconds -- a measurement that Lamborghini says is "barely detectable." The automaker's press release makes no mention of a regenerative braking system, so I have to assume that the power stored in those supercaps comes from the conventional 12-volt system, which is still in place.
Lamborghini states that the 2013 Aventador with its new fuel-saving tech saves an average of 7 percent to a new estimate of 14.7 mpg and that steady state highway cruising at 80 mph sees an even larger 20 percent reduction in consumption and emissions. Plugging the EPA's estimate for the 2012 model into that 20 percent reduction gives us a very loose estimate of 20.4 mpg highway.

Post 2013 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster

Press release...

Automobili Lamborghini presents the new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster: the most exciting series production Lamborghini ever built and the new benchmark in the world of open-top luxury super sports cars.

On the heels of the successful coupe introduced in Summer 2011, and with over 1,300 units already delivered to customers, the House of the Raging Bull is now offering the convertible version of the Aventador, a vehicle that perfectly balances the ultimate driving experience with the ultimate in sports car sophistication.

The new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster can immediately be recognized by the unique profile of its upper area, which extends along newly designed geometric lines from the removable roof to the engine hood.

The Roadster's design is the result of a careful study into the best way of combining performance, elegant style, ease of use and a driving experience that excites all five senses.

The two-piece roof is made entirely from carbon fiber using various technologies such as RTM and Forged Composite®. These technologies guarantee maximum aesthetic performance and stiffness although each component is extremely light, weighing less than 6 kg. These two parts are removable, easy to handle, and being lightweight and simple to attach, can be stored in the front luggage compartment. In just a few seconds the Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster can be admired in all its luxurious beauty.

The rear pillar has been redesigned to offer total support for the removable roof, accommodate an automatic protection system for passengers, and provide the engine compartment with ample ventilation.

Right at first glance, it’s noticeable that the engine hood on the Roadster differs from the hood on the coupé because of its central “spinal column” with two pairs of hexagonal windows connected at the sides as if they were hyper-tech armor plates. Their purpose is to cool the engine, drain off rain water properly and, of course, allow the beauty of the V12 power unit to be admired.

The driver of the Aventador Roadster and his passenger can decide for themselves how intensely they would like to enjoy the driving experience. The powered rear windshield not only influences the flow of air in the vehicle, but also controls the experience of the sound from the twelve-cylinder engine. The wind deflector, on the other hand, delivers almost complete calm inside the car, even at high speed. It rests on the front windshield frame and can likewise be stored in the luggage compartment when not in use.

The Aventador Roadster is also equipped with door windows with chamfered edges, which always ensure a perfect fit into the hard-top seal, and underline the sharp side profile of the car.

The body of the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster sports a two-tone finish, as the windshield pillar, the two roof sections and the rear window area up to the “fins” are painted in gloss black. The visual effect is that of a completely open vehicle with sleek lines combining perfectly balanced sportiness and elegance.

The range of colors available for the Roadster has been supplemented with a very light, metallic blue color, Azzuro Thetis, whose tone varies with the angle of the light. This color recalls the shade of the extraordinarily beautiful 1968 Miura Roadster, and both highlights and reinforces the lines of the vehicle by adding strength and dynamism.

Even the interior has a new look. The use of leather called Sabbia Nefertem highlights the superb hand-made craftsmanship of the upholstery from Sant' Agata Bolognese and is a perfect match for the exterior in Azzuro Thetis. Finally, the new Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster also features new Dione 20”/21” rims with a daring, aggressive look. Crafted in light forged aluminum, they lower the weight of the vehicle by 10 Kg as compared with the standard set of rims.

The new Aventador LP700-4 Roadster boasts record performance. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3 seconds flat and has a maximum speed of some 350 km/h.

These numbers, combined with a drive train featuring a centrally located, 6.5 liter aspirated V12 generating 700 hp, an ISR 7-speed gearbox and push-rod suspension make the new Aventador Roadster a unique super sports car with no direct competition.

Of course the Roadster's V12 also includes a cylinder deactivation system when the engine is working at partial capacity, while the innovative, instant Stop & Start system includes high-performance capacitors known as supercaps to awaken the engine. This is an absolute first in the super sports car segment.

The new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster is a dream that can be realized and ordered at any Lamborghini dealer in the world for the price of 300,000 euro, excluding taxes.

Don't faint, but I don't think I like it. Let's just say it's going to take some getting used to for me (when the top is on). It looks great with the top off, but I don't like it with the top on. Same thing for the Murci too.

Exactly how I feel about the Diablo Roadster as well. Even the CGT, one of my favorite cars ever....

Looks amazing with the top off. Ugly with the top on. However if I were the kind of person to own one of the aforementioned cars, I'd likely have a garage as well as another vehicle for the not so nice days, so the top would be off most of the time... that's how I see it.

It could be worse, they could have used a soft top. They also could have made the top gloss black to match the gloss black roof details.

^^^^ Morgan, you're too funny.

Guys, here is a "full video" of the Roadster. This shows installation and removal of the tops.

There are two tops-each weighing 13 pounds. They store in the front trunk.

guys you know the colors are all customizable, it's not like those pictures are set in stone color combos...

so don't feel discouraged, you can get your Aventador Roadster exactly any way you like it.
